Development of Web-based Workbench for the Construction of Thesaurus (시소러스 구축을 위한 웹 기반 워크벤치 개발)

  • 본 연구에서는 다양한 개념 패싯과 관계 패싯들을 수용한 범용 과학기술 시소러스 구축용 웹 기반 워크벤치 개발에 대해 기술한다. 기존 국내 시소러스 구축용 워크벤치들이 제공하는 기본적인 용어 관계구축 기능을 확장하여 개념 패싯, 범주 관계 패싯, 의미역 관계 패싯, 속성 관계 패싯 및 속성 키워드 처리 기능을 원활히 제공할 수 있는 사용자 중심적 워크벤치를 개발함으로써 시소러스 상의 개념들에 대한 효율적인 구축이 가능하도록 한다. 또한 시멘틱 웹 상의 온톨로지 영역에 보다 근접한 고도화되니 시소러스 구축을 위해 용어들을 개념화시키고, 개념간의 다양한 관계를 설정하는 프로세스 중심적 설계로 분야 적합성이 높은 정보 처리 기반을 갖춘다. 궁극적으로 여러 마이크로 시소러스들을 통합하여 운용할 수 있는 복합 모델을 구축하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 이러한 목적에 부합하는 시스템 구현을 위해 CBD(Component Based Development) 개발 방법론으로 MSF/CD를 이용하였으며, 분산 환경에서 이기종간의 데이터 교환을 용이하게 하기 위하여 웹 서비스 (XML Web Services)를 이용하였다. 또한 시멘틱 웹 기반 연구자 간 협업 지원 서비스 구현을 위한 확장 검색용으로서도 활용할 수 있도록 하였다. 시소러스 반출은 CSV, XML 및 RDF를 모두 지원할 수 있도록 함으로써 다양한 사용자 요구 사항에 부합할 수 있도록 하였다. 시소러스 브라우징을 시각화 기반의 3단계 구조를 가진 플래시로 구현하여 사용자가 쉽게 시소러스를 탐색하고 분석할 수 있는 기반을 제공하였다. 또한 다양한 검색 요구를 만족시키고자 기본 검색, 고급 검색, 메타 검색을 선택할 수 있도록 하며, 개념 편집 및 시소러스 브라우징과 연동시켜 효율적인 시소러스 구축이 가능하도록 하였다. 본 연구의 워크벤치를 이용하여 구축된 시소러스는 기존 시소러스들에 비해 사용자가 보다 폭넓은 의미 기반 검색을 수행할 수 있도록 함으로써 다각적인 정보를 쉽게 획득할 수 있는 기반을 마련하고 있다는 데 의의가 있으며, 다국어 시소러스 및 다중 시소러스를 수용할 수 있는 방향으로 발전시킬 계획이다.

The Construction of Sensibility Thesaurus Based on Color (색상에 기반한 감성시소러스 구축)

  • The aim of this article is to study the new searching tool for era of multimedia. Thesaurus is a useful tool but is constituted with noun phrase including the adjective for retrieving the human Sensibility. Therefore, I experimentally construct the Sensibility thesaurus using the color scale which contains the Sensibility meanings. Terms are 261, Relation standards are distance and ratio of reiteration between the terms. I would use an exclusive program of the thesaurus construction for Sensibility adjective.

A Study on the Interchangeability between a Thesaurus and an Ontology (시소러스와 온톨로지의 상호 호환성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the experiment was made to transform the relationship among terms in a thesaurus to ontology language as search tools for multilingual text. As a result, the equivalent relationship in the thesaurus can be expressed by different ways in the ontology, such as equivalentClass, equivalentProperty, sameAS, and so on. On the other hand, the associative relationship can be represented by ObjectProperty, DatatypeProperty, and inverseOf. For this test, first of all, the descriptors assigned by AAT and the descriptors from bilingual thesaurus by ICCD were translated into Korean. Then, the facet was used for conceptual equivalence among terms from different languages. The result of the study showed that using rdf:Property in ontology was the most effective way of transforming multilingual thesaurus into ontology.

  • The purpose of this study was to propose the improvements for high quality of National Library of Korea (NLK) Subject Headings List which was developed as a subject access tool in 2002. For this study, literature review, case study for subject headings lists of national libraries, and data analysis of headings and relationships were performed. Several problems were found as follows: inconsistency of subject headings descriptions, unclear and unnecessary relationships among headings, inconsistency of hierarchical relationships, lack of currency, incorrectness of classification numbers, duplication of newly requested terms, and assignment of non-preferred and unregistered terms in bibliographic records. Focusing on these problems, modifications of subject headings and bibliographic records, installation and operation of an review committee on subject headings, and supplementation of a manual were suggested to improve NLK Subject Headings List.

  • 이 연구는 한국어의 형태 분석(Morphological Analysis) 과정에서 도출되는 품사 중의성 문제를 해결할 수 있는 방안을 제시해 보고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 강승식(2002)에서는 품사 중의성 문제를 품사 체계의 대 중 소분류에 따라 크게 세 가지로 나누고, 이를 1 2 3차 품사 중의성으로 구분하였다. 본고에서는 이에 해당하는 예를 각각 명사-부사 통용어, 보조용언 구성, 고유명사 등을 중심으로 살펴보고, 이들의 중의성 문제 해결에 필요한 방법들을 형태적, 통사적 조건들을 중심으로 설정하고자 한다. 결과적으로 통용어 문제 해결을 위해서는 통 용어를 표시할 수 있는 중간표지를 부여하는 방법을 주장할 것이다. 그리고 본용언과 중의성을 보이는 보조용언구성에서는 본용언간의 결합 관계도 함께 고려한 규칙을 제안하는 바이며, 고유명사의 중의성 문제는 고유명사의 범위를 '특정한 개체성'을 지니는 것으로 제한함으로서 실제 형태 분석에서의 모호성을 해결할 수 있는 방법을 주장할 것이다.

  • 본 연구는 최근 2022년 6월 1일에 실시된 전국 시도교육청 교육감 선거를 계기로 진행된 연구이다. 본 연구의 목적은 2010년 1월 1일부터 2022년 6월 10일까지 '교육감 직선제'를 다룬 언론사 기사들을 분석하여 그 결과를 객관적으로 제시하는 것이다. 분석 대상은 2010년 1월 1일부터 2022년 6월 10일까지 기간을 설정한 후, '교육감'과 '직선제' 2개의 용어가 모두 포함된 국내 54개 주요 언론사 뉴스 기사들(5,610건)이다. 본 연구에서는 뉴스 빅데이터 분석시스템인 빅카인즈(BIGKinds) 서비스를 적극적으로 이용하여 뉴스 트렌드 분석, 네트워크(관계도) 분석, 연관어 분석 등을 진행하였다. 본 연구자료는 관련 학문 연구자와 교육 현장 종사자들에게 시사점을 줄 수 객관적인 자료로 활용될 것이다. 본 연구는 향후 지방교육자치와 교육감 선거의 발전적 모델 탐색을 위한 다양한 연구 과정으로 확대 전개하고자 한다.

User Education in Korean Libraries: Current Situation and Problems (한국 도서관계의 이용자교유 - 현황과 과제 -)

  • The purposes of this article are to explore the current situation and problems of user education in Korean libraries, and to seek some feasible solutions to establish user education as a library service. To the end, the main focus of discussion is on identifying both current situation and special features in user education of Korean libraries, as compared to those of the U.S. libraries. Also followed is a comparative discussion on the formal education systems to educate instruction librarians and the activities of professional associations to train instruction librarians between Korea and the U.S. The final suggestion is given regarding the obligations that Korean LIS scholars, professional library associations, and individual librarians should fulfill to establish user education as a healthy library service, which is suitable for Korean library situations.

  • In this paper, the format of the Korean 2011 & the Japan 2008 elementary school mathematics curriculum are compared especially centered on elements, areas, objectives, and lesson time numbers. Through this comparison, suggestions can be obtained as follows. First, grade-group system which does not meet the actual elementary mathematics education needs to be reconsidered. Second, the area name 'number and operation' needs to be reduced into the area name 'number and calculation'. Third, using the area name 'pattern' needs to be reconsidered. Fourth, using the area name 'probability' needs to be reconsidered. If 'possibility' which some event occurs is seen as ratio, it can be contained area 'quantity relationship'. Fifth, containing the nature of mathematics into the school mathematics objectives needs to be reconsidered. Sixth, it is necessary to enhance the phase of mathematics in elementary education.

An Investigation of Local Naming Issue of Tamarix aphylla (에셀나무(Tamarix aphylla)의 명칭문제에 대한 고찰)

  • In order to investigate the issue with the proper name of eshel(Tamarix aphylla) mentioned in the Bible, analysis of morphological taxonomy features of plants, studies on the symbolism of the Tamarix genus, analysis of examples in Korean classics and Chinese classics, and studies on the problems found in translations of Korean, Chinese and Japanese Bibles. The results are as follows. According to plant taxonomy, similar species of the Tamarix genus are differentiated by the leaf and flower, and because the size is very small about 2-4mm, it is difficult to differentiate by the naked eye. However, T. aphylla found in the plains of Israel and T. chinensis of China and Korea have distinctive differences in terms of the shape of the branch that droops and its blooming period. The Tamarix genus is a very precious tree that was planted in royal courtyards of ancient Mesopotamia and the Han(漢) Dynasty of China, and in ancient Egypt, it was said to be a tree that gave life to the dead. In the Bible, it was used as a sign of the covenant that God was with Abraham, and it also symbolized the prophet Samuel and the court of Samuel. When examining the example in Korean classics, the Tamarix genus was used as a common term in the Joseon Dynasty and it was often used as the medical term '$Ch{\bar{e}}ngli{\check{u}}$(檉柳)'. Meanwhile, the term 'wiseonglyu(渭城柳)' was used as a literary term. Upon researching the period and name of literature related to $Ch{\bar{e}}ngli{\check{u}}$(檉柳) among Chinese medicinal herb books, a total of 16 terms were used and among these terms, the term Chuísīliǔ(垂絲柳) used in the Chinese Bible cannot be found. There was no word called 'wiseonglyu(渭城柳)' that originated from the poem by Wang Wei(699-759) of Tang(唐) Dynasty and in fact, the word 'halyu(河柳)' that was related to Zhou(周) China. But when investigating the academic terms of China currently used, the words Chuísīliǔ(垂絲柳) and $Ch{\bar{e}}ngli{\check{u}}$(檉柳) are used equally, and therefore, it appears that the translation of eshel in the Chinese Bible as either Chuísīliǔ (垂絲柳) or $Ch{\bar{e}}ngli{\check{u}}$(檉柳) both appear to be of no issue. There were errors translating tamarix into 'やなぎ(willow)' in the Meiji Testaments(舊新約全書 1887), and translated correctly 'ぎょりゅう(檉柳)' since the Colloquial Japanese Bible(口語譯 聖書 1955). However, there are claims that 'gyoryu(ぎょりゅう 檉柳)' is not an indigenous species but an exotics species in the Edo Period, so it is necessary to reconsider the terminology. As apparent in the Korean classics examples analysis, there is high possibility that Korea's T. chinensis were grown in the Korean Peninsula for medicinal and gardening purposes. Therefore, the use of the medicinal term $Ch{\bar{e}}ngli{\check{u}}$(檉柳) or literary term 'wiseonglyu' in the Korean Bible may not be a big issue. However, the term 'wiseonglyu' is used very rarely even in China and as this may be connected to the admiration of China and Chinese things by literary persons of the Joseon Dynasty, so the use of this term should be reviewed carefully. Therefore, rather than using terms that may be of issue in the Bible, it is more feasible to transliterate the Hebrew word and call it eshel.

High Rank 7th Graders' Ideas on the Appropriate Inquiry Problems (중학교 1학년 상위권 학생들의 적절한 탐구 문제에 대한 생각)

  • To investigate the pupils' ideas about appropriate scientific inquiry problem, we have chosen the 105 boys and girls of 7th grade in a middle school in Seoul, Korea. Their marks in science are within the highest one-third of their classes. The pupils have made their own scientific inquiry questions, which is to be investigated by themselves in summer vacation. The 105 inquiry questions were gathered and evaluated by the pupils with 5-point Likert scale. From these, we have found that the questions inquiring novel phenomena, questioning causality, or containing scientific terms were evaluated as appropriate. Some questions were changed during performance. The pupils have changed their inquiry problems if they feel any difficulties in performing the inquiry.
