Stability Analysis on the Intersection Area of Subway Tunnels by Observational Method (계측에 의한 지하철터널 교차부의 안정성 검토)

  • The stability of the intersection area of two tunnels is analyzed by observational method. The depth from ground surface to the intersected area is shallow and the geology around the area consists of soil and/or weathered rock. The tunnel is supported by reinforced protective umbrella method with 12 m long 3-layer steel-pipes and the intersected area is additionally reinforced with 6 m long rockbolts. The measured displacements are converged and mechanical stability of the intersected area of two tunnels is confirmed; tunnel arch settles to 6-7 mm at the crown and the sidewalls converges to about 5 mm. So based on the displacement measurements, the supporting system for the tunnel intersection proves to be effective to not only reduce the deformation of tunnels but also maintain the stability of tunnels.

  • In this study, state-of-the-art of $CO_2$ geological sequestration as a method of greenhouse gas reduction was reviewed. Thermal-Hydraulic-Mechanically(THM) coupled simulation technology and its application to a stability analysis of geological formation due to $CO_2$ injection as well as a leakage path analysis were investigated and introduced.

  • This study evaluated the stability and deformation subsea foundation after implementation of the contaminant isolation method by covering the contaminated materials using Zeolite and sands under subsea condition. The appropriate contaminant adsorption materials used in this study was selected as Zeolite based on the existing research results due to its efficiency. Safety (or stability) was evaluated by calculation and to analyze deformation after completing the contaminant isolation method. The minimum safety factors from slope stability analyses results were 30.1 and 11.2 depending on subsea submerged conditions and the amount of the maximum primary consolidation settlement from consolidation analysis results was 209.2 mm. In addition, change of consolidation amount with increasing consolidation time was evaluated based on consolidation degree.

  • This paper presents features of impermeable asphalt pavement material that uses thermoplastic GMA-based polymer(SIS, Stylene Isoprene Stylene) to improve the waterproof performance. Furthermore, as part of this study, the aerodynamic characteristics of the asphalt paving materials, using the newly suggested thermoplastic polymer, are identified through experiments. In the experiment, the aerodynamic characteristics were analyzed by testing on stability, flow values, porosity, dynamic stability, tensile strength ratio and skid resistance in accordance with KS standard and ASTM standard.

  • Rock slope has a variety of irregular discontinuities and represents a discontinuous mass. Rock joint plays an important role of control hydraulic and mechanic movements in the rock mass. These characteristics between hydraulic and mechanic movements at the rock joints could be represent difference. Therefore they are quiet important factor for slope design. In this study the weathered rock slopes were carried out to analysis of slope stability and geophysical survey. The electrical resistivity survey with dipole-dipole array conducted five profiling sites, and SWEDGE and SLIDE for slope stability analysis were applied on 20 rock slopes far assessment of slope stability and understand to geological situations due to the weathering.

  • 본 연구에서는 유체역학적인 후류 효과를 제어하고 항력을 이용하여 구체를 안정적으로 부양하는 방법을 해석 및 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 물체를 공중에 부양할 때는 물체가 받는 중력과 제트에 의하여 공급되는 항력이 평형을 이루어야 한다. 이 때 공기의 흐름의 레이놀즈 수에 따라 공기가 구체를 지나가며 구체후면에 생기는 후류에 의하여 부양상태가 불안정하게 될 수 있다. 구체의 운동이 제트에 의하여 안정되는 현상은 베르누이 및 코안다 효과로 설명할 수 있다. 에디슨을 이용하여 레이놀즈 수에 따른 실린더에 작용하는 항력과 후류에 의한 불안정화 힘을 해석적으로 구하였으며 이를 실험적으로 고속카메라를 이용하여 부양 거리, 안정도 등을 측정하여 비교하였다. 고찰 결과 레이놀즈 수가 작을수록 더 안정됨을 확인하였다.

  • 최근 탄소나노튜브는 역학적으로 견고하고 화학적 안정성이 뛰어나며 열전도도가 높고 속이 비어 있다는 특성 때문에 다양한 분야에 응용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 기능 또한 뛰어나다. 특히 구조적으로 매우 큰 aspect ratio를 가지고 있기 때문에 탄소나노튜브는 국소적으로 상당한 전계 증가를 보이고 비교적 낮은 전압에서도 다량의 전계방출 전류를 생성하는 특징을 가지고 있다 그래서, 탄소나노튜브를 전계 방출원으로 사용하기 위해서는 균일하게 수직 배열된 탄소나노튜브를 성장시키는 기술을 요구한다.(중략)

  • The influence of the mined-out caves on the stability of the high speed railway tunnel was investigated with a series of geological logging and in-situ tests on the one hand, and with the rock mass classification using the multiple regression analysis on the other hand. The rock mass in this area can be classified as 'fair', and the condition of the discontinuities plays the most important role in the classification of the rock mass. The results of the analysis obtained by the FLAC showed that the western part of the tunnel locating at 50m above the mine cavities could be affected by subsidence associated with a considerable deformation, the magnitude of which might depend on the properties of the rock mass. Stability Assessment of Concrete Lining and Rock Bolts of the Adjacent Tunnel by Blast-Induced Vibration (발파진동이 인접한 터널의 콘크리트 라이닝과 록볼트의 안정성에 미치는 영향평가)

  • In this study, the blast-induced vibration effects on the structural stability of the adjacent tunnel were estimated with respect to the allowable peak particle velocity (PPV). The blasting distance from the tunnel satisfying the allowable PPV was estimated based on the analytical solutions, United States Bureau of Mines (USBM) suggestions, and the equations used in the subway in Seoul. The allowable blasting distance was estimated by using finite difference analysis (FDA) and the behavior of the concrete lining and rock bolts was examined and the stability of those was estimated during the blast. Research results show that the blast-induced vibration effects on the structural stability are negligible for the concrete lining but relatively large for the rock bolts.
