19세기 아편전쟁에 참가했던 중국 학자의 한사람이었던 위원은 '해국도지'라는 책을 통해 서양기술을 우리나라에 처음 전해준 사람이다. 대원군때 전해온 이 책은 우리 선조들에게 서양기술의 교과서처럼 활용되었다. 아편전쟁을 치르면서 나라를 막고 지키자는 생각을 하는 사람들과는 다르게 '서양을 배워 서양을 이기자'는 구호를 내건 위원은 '해국도지'라는 책을 통해 서양의 대포와 군함 그리고 서양의 역법, 망원경 만드는 법, 서양의 천문학에 이르기까지 여러가지 과학내용을 담고 있다.

가로흐름에 방류되는 연직평면부력젤의 젤중심선경로와 온도분포를 실험자료와 기본방정식으로부터 유도된 적분식에 의하여 해석한다. 기본방정식으로부터 적분식의 유도는 상사법칙과 특성길이를 도입하여 연직상향 및 수평방향흐름영역에 대한 차원해석을 하였고, 실험은 속도비(R=Wo/Ua)와 방류밀도Froude수를 변화시키면서 각각에 따른 젤중심선경로와 온도분포를 획득하였다. 속도비 R과 방류밀도Froude수 Fo에 따라 부력젤의 흐름특성은 달라지게 되며, 초기조건(운동량및 부력)에관계없이 부력젤은 항상 운동량지배영역이 존재함을 알 수 있었고 적분식에 의한 역법칙(power law)과 실험 자료는 대체로 일치된결과를 나타내었다.

A comparison was made of a new serological method, thin layer immunoassay (TIA), and an established method, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), in the detection and quantiacation of antibodies in clonorchiasis. Saline extract of Iyophilized Clonorchis sinensis adult worm was used as antigen, and TIA by the method of Elwing et at. (1976) and ELISA by Voller et at. (1974) were performed. Using sera from known clonorchiasis cases,100% of the sera tested were Positive by TIA and 88.35 by ELISA. TIA produced false positive results in 14 out of 36 cases, which were 10 amoebiasis cases, 16 paragonimiasis cases and 10 healthy controls. ELISA. however, produced a small number of false positives, 7 out of 55 cases. There was correlation between Immunoglobulin G level in sera and ELISA value (correlation coefficient, 0.69), whereas no correlation between Immunoglobulin G level and TIA result. The Performance of TIA and ELISA was not correlated in the results using homologous antigen.

It is widely known that the ultra high frequency (UHF) method that detects the electromagnetic wave of the PD pulses in the gas insulated space is one of the most competitive methods for its high sensitivity. From the above point of view, this paper describes the characteristics of GIS PD signals measured with ultra wide band (UWB) GIS PD detecting system in which PD signals are detected into the dual UHF band. The UWB PD detection system consists of the UWB UHF coupler, the UWB low noise amplifier (LNA) and the oscilloscope. The dual bands for PD signals are 0.5-2GHz(full band) and 1-2GHz(high band). As results, it was found that the partial discharges of each defect have their own characteristic pattern and the ratio of High band to Full band increases with gas pressure.

The estrogen and progesterone receptors which are bound to the cytoplasmic protein of cancer cells were measured in 20 patients with the early breast cancer by means of radioimmunoassay using charcoal. 1. The Patients with estrogen receptor positive were 13 (65%) of 20 cases and with progestrone receptor positive were 7 cases (35%) in the early breast cancer. 2. Coexistence of estrogen and progesterone receptor positive was noted in 7 cases (35%). The cases of estrogen receptor positive and progesterone receptor negative were 6 cases (33.3%), while there were no cases of estrogen receptor negative with progestrone receptor positive. 3. Coincidence of estrogen and progesterone negative was notied in 7 cases(35%). Conclusively, it is considered that the measurement of estrogen and progesterone receptors has relevance as predictive value, in the response to hormonal manipulations and chemotherapy for breast cancer patients.

This paper presents an analysis of a slot on the broad wall of a rectangular waveguide using the 3D FDTD method. In order to reduce the reflection loss, Mur's 2nd absorbing boundary condition is used. To realize the optimum design by FDTD, the effects of time step, excitation aperture size, analysis region and excitation position in model are derived. The analysis results are compared with the experimental results and they show a good agreement with each other.

한국천문연구원(이하 천문연)은 지식경제부에서 주관하고 행정안전부와 한국정보화 진흥원에서 시행한 '2009년도 지식정보화 사업'의 일환으로 우리나라 역서에 대한 데이터베이스를 구축하여 운영 중이다. 현재 1607년부터 2009년까지의 기간중 자료를 구할 수 있는 약 220년간의 역서에 대해 원문이미지와 텍스트(일부 연도 제외) 자료를 서비스 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 시대별 한국에서 사용된 역법과 역서의 변천에 대해 간단히 언급하고, 역서 데이터베이스 구축과정에 대해서 소개하고자 한다. 그리고 현재 천문연에서 구축한 역서 데이터베이스 목록과 더불어 1830년 시헌력 역서를 예로 역서에 포함된 내용에 대해서도 간략히 소개 하고자 한다.

In this paper, an analytical laser ablation model with Maxwell equation will be addressed by considering relationship between laser ablation and material. The Maxwell equation consists of four equations: two Gauss laws for electric and magnetic fields, Faraday's law, and Ampere's law. This analytical model will be calculated by employing Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD). This method also makes it possible to simulate the laser beam propagation in a wide range of materials, such as metals, semiconductors, and dielectrics. Therefore, in this study, a numerical model for short pulse laser interaction with materials is developed, focusing on the accurate description of laser beam propagation and ablation process into the material with each pulse.
