A Study on the Morphological Changes of Actual Hair Cuticles by Different Types of Conditioner after Coloring Treatment (염색시술 후 사용한 컨디셔너의 종류에 따른 모표피층의 형태 변화 연구)

  • The present study was to investigate the effects of different types of conditioner on the morphological changes of hair cuticles after coloring treatment. The virgin hair, aged 22 years served as a subject. Coloring treatment was done with a commercial hair dye agent for 35 minutes as routine procedures at $25^{\circ}C$, 50% R.H. environmental condition. The two different types of conditioner, Essence and LPP were applied to the colored hair 10 times with 2 days interval for 20 days. The hair cuticles were observed by a scanning electron micro scopy before and after coloring and conditioner treatment. The main results were as follows. Coloring treatment damaged the hair cuticles, and both of Essence and LPP had a direct conditioning effect. Also, the damaged hair cuticles were recovered by the repeated application of hair conditioner. Moreover, LPP was more effective in hair curing compared to Essence. These results show that a hair conditioner can be helpful to keep healthy hair and to shorten an interval of coloring.

초음파 처리 시간 변화에 따른 나노 구조 P3HT층을 가진태양전지의 특성

  • 유기태양전지는 낮은 공정 단가, 저온공정 및 기계적 유연성과 같은 다양한 장점을 지니고 있어서 실리콘 기반의 태양전지를 대체하기 위해서 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 유기태양전지는 실리콘 기반의 태양전지에 비해서 낮은 광전변환효율을가지고 있기 때문에 효율을 높이기 위한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그 중에서 엑시톤 분리 효율을 높이기 위한 방안으로 나노 구조가 많이 연구되고 있다. 하지만 나노 구조를 제작하기 위해서는 식각 과정을 거치거나, 금속 템플레이트를 사용하여 공정상 복잡하고 어려움을 갖는다. 본 연구에서는 간단한 용액 공정을 이용하여 초음파 처리시간 변화에 따른 나노 구조를 가지는 광활성층을 제작하였다. 전자주게 물질인 P3HT를 혼합 용매에 녹여서 초음파 처리를 통해서 나노 구조를 제작하였고, 초음파 처리 시간에 따른 구조의 변화를 광류미네에센스 측정과 원자간 힘 현미경으로 관찰하였다. 나노 구조를 가지는 태양 전지는 엑시톤을 분리할 수 있는 전자주게와 전자받게의 계면이 증가함으로 엑시톤 분리 효율이 향상되는 장점을 가진다. 초음파 처리 사긴 변화에 따른 나노 구조 P3HT 층을 가진 태양전지의 전류밀도-전압 측정을 통해 효율의 변화를 비교하였다. 15분 동안 초음파 처리를 하였을 때, 가장 높은 효율을 가지는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 나노 구조를 가지지 않는 유기태양전지에 비해서 20% 정도 효율이 향상되는 결과를 볼 수 있었다.

  • Jaeum-Dan was reported new anti-aging effect formula previously. We investigated the physiological effects on human skin with Jaeum-Dan essence (JED). We made a skin application product as essence form contained oriental herbs, and measured various physiological effects such as skin moisture contents, red blood cell flow rates, skin surface temperature, corneocyte exfoliation and skin intensity when volunteers(female, n=40) used the application product for 4 weeks. The results were as follows: The skin moisture contents were not only increased in human face skin through using the product, but also red blood cell flow :rates in face skin were increased. After using the essence, the face skin temperature rose and corneocyte exfoliation was decreased. Furthermore the upper dermis intensity of skin in female face was subsequently increased 4 weeks later. The results indicate that the application product containing JED was improved the physiological effects of human facial skin..

  • IP기반 미디어 서비스는 대규모 사용자를 확보할 수 있고, 사용자 규모에 따른 수익을 올릴 수 있기 때문에 방송사에서는 중요 서비스의 하나로 인식하고 있다. 사용자의 지속적이고 빠르게 변화하는 새로운 서비스에 대한 요구사항들을 만족시키기 위해서 방송사는 보유하고 있는 관련 시스템들을 항시 새로운 서비스에 유연하게 대처할 수 있도록 해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 IP기반 미디어 서비스에 유연하게 대응할 수 있는 체계화된 방송콘텐츠 서비스 개방형 아키텍처 (OASIS: Open Architecture for Systematic IP-based Services)를 제안한다. 'OASIS'는 제작 시스템에서 자동으로 콘텐츠(예. 에센스와 메타데이터)를 수집하고 다양한 서비스에 맞게 수집된 콘텐츠를 제공할 수 있는 체계적이고 유연한 아키텍처이다. 더불어 OASIS는 방송콘텐츠 저작권 확보 여부를 확인할 수 있도록 하였기 때문에 최근 중요시되고 있는 저작권이 확보된 콘텐츠를 서비스할 수 있다. 제안하는 아키텍처는 시스템들 간에 콘텐츠를 교환할 때 표준화된 메타데이터와 ID를 사용하여 교환하게 함으로써 서비스 할 콘텐츠를 자동으로 시스템화하여 수집할 수 있다. KBS는 2년간의 작업을 거쳐 방송콘텐츠를 공유하는 데 필요한 메타데이터와 ID의 표준화 작업을 수행하였으며, 이를 기반으로 체계적으로 자동화된 수집 체계를 고안하였다. 다양한 서비스에 유연하게 콘텐츠를 제공하기 위한 측면으로는 openAPI(Application Programming Interface)를 활용하여, 서비스의 요구에 맞는 콘텐츠 내용을 제공할 수 있도록 하였다. 마지막으로 라이선스 관리 측면으로는 방송 콘텐츠 제작 시 수집할 수 있는 계약 정보 및 서비스 유통 가능 범위를 체계화함으로써, 제작 시에 저작권 정보를 수집하고, 해당 콘텐츠와 연동하여 서비스 가능 여부를 확인할 수 있도록 하였다. 제안한 아키텍처를 활용하여 다양한 서비스의 요구에 대응할 수 있는 콘텐츠 서비스 시스템을 구축할 수 있다.

A Randomized Study, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controled Study to Herbal Shampoo & Essence about Dandruff (한방 샴푸/에센스의 비듬에 대한 무작위배정, 이중맹검, 위약 대조군 연구)

  • Background : Dandruff is a chronic scalp condition characterized by scaling. The common causative agent is now accepted to be the lipophilic Pityrosporum ovale. Obstecive : We conducted a randomized, double-blind, parallel-group study to investigate the efficacy of Herbal Shampoo & Essense and placebo in patients with mild to moderate dandruff. Mathods : Forth-seven patients with dandruff were assigned to one of two treatment goups: Test (contaning the medication) or control (vehicle). After administering through randomizion, two groups were used with Negative sampoo for first two weeks, and used with test or control products for second two weeks. Results : 1. After 2 weeks of treatment, the numbers of P. ovale in test groups were decreased in a statistically meaningful way(p<0.01) compared with control groups. 2. After 2 weeks of treatment, average of sebum-amount in test groups were decreased from 117.55 to 92.88, in a statistically meaningful way(P<0.05, paired t-test) compared with control groups that were decreased from 115.53 to 112.46. 3. In clinical score, average of control groups is decreased from 2.82 to 1.09. on the other sides, average of test groups is decreased from 3.88 to 2.44. The change of test groups is bigger than that of control groups, both two groups was decreased in a statistically way(<0.01) Conclusion : The study demonstrated that Herbal Shampoo & Essense can be used by patients with scalf safely and effectively with almost no side-effect.

The Effect of Hair Essence (HHRHG0202-80) Containing Five Herbal Extracts on Hair Growth and the Prevention of Alopecia in vitro & vivo (5종의 한약 추출물이 함유된 헤어 에센스제품(HHRHG0202-80)이 in vitro 및 in vivo에서 육모 및 탈모 방지에 미치는 효과)

  • Backgrounds : Androgenetic alopecia is a relatively common disorder, but its precise mechanism is not elucidated. There are two commercial drugs approved by FDA. One(finasteride) has an inhibition activity of 5$\alpha$-reductase(type 2) and the other(minoxidil) has a vasodilation activity. Objectives : A verified herbal remedy for baldness is needed for medicinal treatment or preventing alopecia, which could be demonstrated by alopecia-related in vitro & in vivo tests Methods : On the basis of oriental pharmacognosy, we classified many herbal medicines into four groups (malnutrition, aging, alopecia and gray hair) according to its effect. The mitosis induction of hairy dermal papillae cell and the metabolic inhibition for type 2 $5{\alpha}-reductase$ were tested with five herbal extracts. Also, five herbal extracts were added to the normal essence formulation (HHRHG0202-80) in ranges of 0.1~0.3%, which was applied two-mouse models to validate each hair growing activity in vivo. Results : Stimulation of follicular papillae cell proliferation was observed in treatment of three herbal extracts (Glycyrrhizae radix:159.7%, Corni fructus : 144.7%, and Coicis semen : 136.6%) at a dose of $10\mu\textrm{g}/ml$. Three herbal extracts (Biotae semen. Glycyrrhizae radix and Coicis semen) showed inhibitory activity for $5{\alpha}-reductase$(type 2) at 93.18%, 73.36% and 47.6%, respectively at the same dose. We observed the enhancement of hair growth activity in C57b1/6 mouse and the inhibition of alopecia in AGA mouse after topical administration of the hair essence. Conclusions : Hair essence product, which contains five medicinal plants, would be used for the remedy for male pattern baldness (MPB) and the other alopecia diseases.

Effect of Essence Containing Abelmoschus manihot on Facial Skin (금화규 함유 에센스가 안면피부에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of Abelmoschus manihot (A-M) on the facial skin by observing the changes in the skin caused by continuous use of the essence containing A-M. Methods : Fifty-one participants were enrolled, 38 were classified as experimental group and 13 were classified as control group. Before the beginning of the test, the skin condition of the participants was investigated with the facial analyzer. An essence containing A-M was provided to the experimental group, and an essence base not containing Abelmoschus manihot was provided to the control group. Participants were asked to use the product in the morning and evening after washing their face. We checked the skin change status every 2 weeks and performed the test 3 times for 6 weeks. Results : In the case of t-zone oil and pores, there was a significant decrease in the experimental group. In the case of moisture, a significant increase was observed in the control group, but the significance was significantly increased when the essence containing A-M was used. In the case of elasticity, it was found that the experimental group continued to increase with the period of use. Conclusion : It is thought that the essence containing A-M will be effective in preventing skin aging through the reduction of t-zone oil, the size of the pores, and the increase in moisture and elasticity.

Safety Effect of Cosmetics Containing Coptis Japonica Extract on Sensitive Skin (황련 추출물을 함유한 화장품의 민감성 피부 안전성 연구)

  • This study was to verify the skin safety of Coptis Japonica extract(CJE) -containing cosmetics by patching them on sensitive skin and checking its stimulating level. 32 subjects diagnosed with sensitive skin by the result of the lactic acid injury test, were subjected to 20 ㎕ of solubilized essence mixed with 2% CJE on the test subjects' back and closed patched for 24 hours. No stimulus reactions were found by bare eyes and scored 0 stimulus figure points after they were taken off in 30 minutes, 24 hours, and 48 hours. Coptis japonica's medical efficacies such as antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory are expectable to be used as functional cosmetics, and this research would be the foundation of further research into its cosmetical usage.

Skin Whitening Effects of Angelica koreana and Cnidium monnieri Extracts (강활과 벌사상자 추출물의 피부 미백효과)

  • The objective of this study is to estimate the inhibition of skin melanin formation by extract of Angelica koreana and Cnidium monnieri and the possibility of functional cosmetic materials through anti-irritation and stability test. The extract used in this experiment is White-$AK^{TM}$ and the INCI name is Osthole. The main component of White-$AK^{TM}$ was identified as coumarin and EC50 value was 2.7ppm by mouse melanoma B 16 cell test. White-$AK^{TM}$ showed inhibitory effects 100 times lower concentration than arbutin. The main mechanism for skin whitening effect thought to be inhibition of tyrosinase-related gene expression. The basic essence formulation of White-$AK^{TM}$ 5% solution applied to the skin showed the effect of relieving skin irritation. White-$AK^{TM}$ in an opaque container, under UV conditions for 4 weeks, and showed close to 100% recovery and 97% recovery under $50^{\circ}C$ for 4 weeks. Therefore, it is thought that White-$AK^{TM}$ which helps skin whitening, relieving skin irritation and stable in UV condition is able to be used as the functional component in the cosmetic formulation.

A Comparative Study of Skin-related Habits and Skin Health Behaviors according to Gender in College Students (대학생의 성별에 따른 피부 관련 생활습관 및 피부건강행동에 대한 비교 연구)

  • This study investigated the differences in skin-related habits and skin health behavior according to the gender in college students. The questionnaire surveyed four category on general characteristics, skin-related habits, cosmetic use, and skin care habits. As a result, there were significant differences between gender in smoking(χ2=19.58, p=0.000) and exercise(χ2=17.59, p=0.001) habits. In all categories of cosmetics use, there were significant differences between gender. But both male and female college students were the highest in the 'Not used' and 'Less than once a week" in functional cosmetics, essence, nutritional cream, eye cream, mask pack and deep cleansing items. whereas, there were significant differences between gender in use of sun cream(χ2=31.20, p=0.000). The results of this study showed there were differences in gender according to the survey items. However, female college students were overall better than male college students in skin care.
