  • A TPMS is a wireless communication system designed to monitor its condition inside the pneumatic tires on various types of vehicles. These systems report the tire pressure information to the driver of the vehicle. While wireless communications is used to transmit the measurement data from TPMS sensors to a central processing unit in the vehicle, it suffers from the various interferences such as sensors of each tire or outside electrical equipments. Based on the conventional beamformer, a switching beamforming technique is proposed to minimize the interference and efficiently receive valid data. Moreover, in order to minimize the interference and reduce power consumption for communication, a system with unique Gold Code is presented for each tire. The performance of interference suppression is illustrated by computer simulations.

  • Wind tunnel model has some difference in shape compared to the real flight vehicle because of model support system for testing. The support system can make some differences in the measured forces and moments to the flight test data. There are several correction methods involved such as cavity pressure correction and model support interference. Internal balance and belly sting support were used for this wind tunnel test and three types of model support correction methods, variable sting thickness method, dummy sting method, and wire support method, were compared. Variable sting thickness method is well matched with wire support method, which is known for almost interference free.

  • A Fiber optic strain sensor for the measurement of the internal strain of a concrete specimen was developed. This sensor was a 11 mm Fiber-optic Fabry-Perot interferometer attached inside a stainless steel pipe of 2 mm diameter. The fabricated strain sensors were embedded in a reinforced concrete structure of $100{\times}100{\times}500\;mm^3$ size and were measured the internal strain of a concrete structure when the external pressure was applied to the structure. For a field application, the strain sensors were attached on the bottom of a real bridge and dynamic loading test were executed. In the test, they showed good sensitivity as a deformation sensor and capability of remote monitoring.

  • Vacuum laboratory in Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) was opened in 1983 for establishing and disseminating vacuum standard in Korea. The major three systems such as the ultrasonic interferometer manometer (UIM), the static expansion system (SES) and the dynamic expansion system (DES) with orifice and porous plug conductance are developed. In this study, the standard systems from low to ultra-high vacuum, uncertainty analysis by ISO regulation, and key and bilateral comparison results will be described.

  • The Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) has three major vacuum systems: an ultrasonic interferometer manometer (UIM), a static volume expansion system (SVES), and an orifice-type dynamic expansion system (ODES). For each system explict measurement model equations with multiple variables are respectively given. According to ISO standards, all these system variables errors were used to calculate the expanded uncertainty (U).

  • Injector dynamics of multi swirl injectors in an annular combustor have been investigated by LES(Large Eddy Simulation) turbulent model with MPI parallel computation technique. The present study employs the LM6000 lean premixed swirl-stabilized annular combustor. Real shape combustor is simulated in order to investigate the detail interaction mechanism among multi-injectors. The strong vortex breakdown occurs at the impinging surface between the adjacent injectors so that the complex and strong oscillatory pressure propagates inside of the combustor. Tangential pressure fluctuation mode was captured by including multi injectors in computational domain.

  • The application of laser in pipelines was started from the base of using laser in nuclear facilities industries and power plants. Because laser can be delivered to a remote area without any difficulties, the application of laser in many industries can solve many difficulties from limitation of access in danger area and reduced the risks of workers. Therefore, we developed a new experimental technique to measure internal defects of pressure vessels with a combination of shearog-raphy and image processing technique. Conventional NDT methods have been taken relatively much time, money and manpower because of performing as the method of contact with objects to be inspected. But digital shearography is laser-based optical method which allows full-field observation of surface displacement derivatives. This method has many advantages in practical use, such as low sensitivity to environmental noise, simple optical configuration and real time mea-surement. In this paper, we find the optimum shearing magnitude with EFM and experiment and measured internal crack length of the pressure vessels at a real time and estimated the error of the results.

  • Pipe and Pressure Vessels that is used in power plant and chemical industry have many Internal Defects that is corrosion caused by the flow of fluid. These Internal Defects that have possibility of explosion are very dangerous because it can not see from the outside. This days many companys using NDT method to find an Internal Defect. Most of the NDT methods have limitations that are constraint of shape and materials. But Sheargoraphy have many advantages compared conventional NDT method. It has very fast measuring speed, non-destructive and non contacting measurement. As well as it hasn't constraint of shape and materials. As a paper on the analysis of measurement of error, the important factors were the Shearing Amount and pressure, and discovered measurement of the Internal Defect of the object by using shearography. The optimal Shearing Amount and pressure was discovered and utilized.
