Developing a Text Categorization System Based on Unsupervised Learning Using an Information Retrieval Technique (정보검색 기술을 이용한 비지도 학습 기반 문서 분류 시스템 개발)

  • For developing a text classifier using supervised learning, a manually labeled corpus of large size is required. However, it takes a lot of time and human effort. Recently a research paradigm was proposed to use a raw corpus and a small amount of seed information instead of manually labeled corpus. In this paper we introduce an unsupervised learning method that makes it possible to achieve better performance than other related works. The characteristics of our approach is that average mutual information is used to learn representative words and their weights and then update of the weights is done using a technique inspired by the works in information retrieval. By iterating this teaming process it was shown that a high performance system can be developed.

Automatic Liver Segmentation Method on MR Images using Normalized Gradient Magnitude Image (MR 영상에서 정규화된 기울기 크기 영상을 이용한 자동 간 분할 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a fast liver segmentation method from magnetic resonance(MR) images. Our method efficiently divides a MR image into a set of discrete objects, and boundaries based on the normalized gradient magnitude information. Then, the objects belonging to the liver are detected by using 2D seeded region growing with seed points, which are extracted from the segmented liver region of the slice immediately above or below the current slice. Finally, rolling ball algorithm, and connected component analysis minimizes false positive error near the liver boundaries. Our method was validated by twenty data sets and the results were compared with the manually segmented result. The average volumetric overlap error was 5.2%, and average absolute volumetric measurement error was 1.9%. The average processing time for segmenting one data set was about three seconds. Our method could be used for computer-aided liver diagnosis, which requires a fast and accurate segmentation of liver.

  • We investigated interconnection processes using Cu vias for MEMS sensor packages. Ag paste layer was formed on a glass substrate and used as a seed layer for electrodeposition of Cu vias after bonding a Si substrate with through-via holes. With applying electrodeposition current densities of $20mA/cm^2\;and\;30mA/cm^2$ at direct current mode to the Ag paste seed-layer, Cu vias of $200{\mu}m$ diameter and $350{\mu}m$ depth were formed successfully without electrodeposition defects. Interconnection processes for MEMS sensor packages could be accomplished with Ti/Cu/Ti line formation, Au pad electrodeposition, Sn solder electrodeposition and reflow process on the Si substrate where Cu vias were formed by Cu electrodeposition into through-via holes.

Surface morphology of YBa$_{2}$Cu$_{3}$O$_{7}$ thin films prepared by the PLD method (PLD법으로 제작한 YBa$_{2}$Cu$_{3}$O$_{7}$ 반막의 표면상태 변화)

  • We have observed the morphology of YBCO thin films grown on the SrTiO$_3$(100) substrates by the Pulsed Laser Deposition method. AFM and SEM images show that the YBCO grains grow spirally from their own seeds whereas outgrowths are considered to remain unchained as the film thickness increases. The images of various stages of film growth suggest that the outgrowths of 1000${\sim}$2000 ${AA}$ size are mainly formed at the very early stage of film growth. The results of XRD measurement clearly show that even a film of about 10 ${AA}$ thickness already forms orthorhombic YBCO structure although common superconducting resistivity behavior is known to be observed for the films with thickness above 100 ${AA}$.

Development of an Multi-dimentional Affect Scale for Distinguishing between Depression and Anxiety (우울과 불안의 변별적 진단을 위한 다차원 정서 척도의 개발)

  • The depression and anxiety are the most popular mental disorders and not easy to distinguish because of their lots of similarities in the diagnostic criteria, related theories, and clinical symptoms. In this article, we developed the affect scale for distinguishable diagnosis, utilized the relationships between the Positive and Negative affect, and the depression and anxiety. We made up the seed scale of the items which selected by partial correlation, and set the scoring up by multiple regression method. The Multi-dimentional affect scale is reliable and working similarly as the scales used before, but less correlated to each other. We conclude that the affect scale achieved the diagnosis for distinguish between depression and anxiety. Our suggestions for the further study are to redeem the cultural differences, modify by the elaborate methods, and validate by the actual clinical data.

The Set Expansion System Using the Mutual Importance Measurement Method to Automatically Build up Named Entity Domain Dictionaries (영역별 개체명 사전 자동 구축을 위한 상호 중요도 계산 기법 기반의 집합 확장 시스템)

  • Since Web pages contain a lot of information today, the Web becomes an important resource to extract some information. In this paper, we proposes a set expansion system which can automatically extract named entities from the Web. Overall, the proposed method consists of three steps. First of all, Web pages, which may include many named entities of a domain, are collected by using several seed words of the domain. Then some pattern rules are extracted by using seed words and the collected Web pages, and the named entity candidates are selected through applying the extracted pattern rules into Web pages. To distinguish real named entities, we develop the new mutual importance measurement method which estimates the importance of named entity candidates. We conducted experiments for 3 domains for Korean and for 8 domains for English. As a result, the proposed method obtained 78.72% MAP in Korean and 96.48% MAP in English. In particular, the performances of English domains are better than the results of the Google set.

Determination of Flavonoid and Limonoid Compounds in Citron (Citrus junos Sieb. et Tanaka) Seeds by HPLC and HPLC/MS (HPLC 및 HPLC/MS를 이용한 유자 씨앗 중 플라보노이드 및 리모노이드 화합물의 분석)

  • Flavonoid and limonoid compounds were determined by HPLC on the methanol and ethanol extracts from citron seeds. The quantities of the compounds in these categories were higher in the ethanol extract than methanol extract. The types of these compounds were detected in larger numbers in the ethanol extract. The content of limonin was the largest in both methanol and ethanol extract among the detectable compounds ; 140.34 mg/100g and 170.98 mg/100g, respectively, and the contents of other compounds, caffeic acid, naringin, lutin, nomilin, were found in large amount in this order. The molecular weights of forty two compounds in ethanol extract were determined with mass spectrums and extracted ion current chromatograms by HPLC/MS.

Pulmonary Vessels Segmentation and Refinement On the Chest CT Images (흉부 CT 영상에서 폐 혈관 분할 및 정제)

  • In this paper, we proposed a new method for pulmonary vessels image segmentation and refinement from pulmonary image. Proposed method consist of following five steps. First, threshold estimation is performed by polynomial regression analysis of histogram variation rate of the pulmonary image. Second, segmentation of pulmonary vessels object is performed by density-based segmentation method based on estimated threshold in first step. Third, 2D connected component labeling method is applied to segmented pulmonary vessels. The seed point of both side diaphragms is determined by eccentricity and size of component. Fourth step is diaphragm extraction by 3D region growing method at the determined seed point. Finally, noise cancelation of pulmonary vessels image is performed by 3D connected component labeling method. The experimental result is showed accurately pulmonary vessels image segmentation, the diaphragm extraction and the noise cancelation of the pulmonary vessels image.

Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy in Co/Pd Layer with TiO2 Seed Layer on the Various Substrates (TiO2 씨앗층을 이용한 다양한 기판에서의 Co/Pd 층의 수직 자기 이방성에 대한 연구)

  • We investigate the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in $TiO_2$/Co/Pd on GaAs(100), MgO(100), MgO(111), Si(100), and glass substrates. We find that the roughness of $TiO_2$ depends on the $O_2$ partial pressure in the magnetron sputtering process. The perpendicular magnetic anisotropies are found in all substrates with $TiO_2$ seed layer, and the perpendicular magnetic anisotropy of Co/Pd system is insensitive on the type of the substrate when the thickness of $TiO_2$ seed layer is thicker than 5 nm. However, MgO(111) substrate promotes $TiO_2$ rutile (111) structure, and it causes largest perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in $TiO_2$/Co/Pd(111) structures.

선택적 단결정 씨앗층을 이용한 MgZnO 나노와이어의 밀도조절 및 수직성장 방법

  • 21세기 제 3의 산업혁명을 가져올 것으로 기대되는 나노기술(NT), 정보기술(IT), 바이오기술(BT)은 전 세계 과학자들의 마음을 사로잡고 있다. 이 가운데 나노기술은 전자산업에 응용 시 그 기대효과는 우리가 상상하는 이상의 것이라 예상하고 있다. 나노기술에 특히 관심을 가지는 이유는 물질이 마이크로미터 크기로 작아져도 벌크물질의 물리적 특성이 그대로 유지되지만, 나노미터 크기가 되면서 우리가 경험하지 못했던 새로운 물리적 특성들이 발현되기 때문이다. 그 특성에는 양자구속효과, Hall-Petch 효과, 자기효과 등이 있다. 나노기술의 구현은 양자점과 같은 영차원 나노입자, 나노와이어, 나노막대, 나노리본 등과 같은 직경이 100nm 이하의 일차원 구조의 나노물질 및 나노박막과 기타 100nm 이하의 나노구조물들이 사용된다. 현재 일차원 구조를 이용한 전자디바이스화 연구는 결정성장을 정확하게 조절하는 합성기술, 합성된 일차원 나노물질의 물리적 특성을 지배하는 각종 파라미터들과 물리적 특성들과의 상관관계 정립, 나노와이어를 이용한 Bottom-up 방식에 의한 조립기술 확보를 위해 활발히 진행 중이다. 하지만 나노구조의 특성을 확인하는 형태의 연구일 뿐, 실제 디바이스 구현에는 여전히 많은 과제를 안고 있다. 본 연구에서는 선택적 삼원계 단결정 씨앗층을 이용한 길이/직경 비가 매우 향상된 MgZnO 나노와이어를 interfacial layer 없이 수직으로 성장하여 산화물 전계방출 에미터로서의 가능성을 확인하였다.
