The purpose of this study was to identify health behaviors of elderly with osteoarthritis across gender groups. Total of 1,654 age 65 over from the fifth Korean National health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) were selected. The data analysis was performed using the complex sampling function of SPSS version 20. Logistic regression analysis shows the difference of risk factors of osteoarthritis between men and women elderly people. Prevalence of osteoarthritis in men elderly was associated with drinking, education for osteoarthritis, and treatment of osteoarthritis whereas the factors in woman elderly were depression and muscle strengthen exercise. Most of the subjects had not the opportunity of education of the management of the osteoarthritis. These findings from the study are expected to promote the screening strategy for the aged at risk of osteoarthritis in the Korean community and enhance the effect of the nursing intervention for the elderly with osteoarthritis.

It is needed to connect the curriculum of leisure use with community resources in order to allow students with developmental disability in a transition period to recover composure themselves through the curriculum of leisure use, improve their skills to enjoy, and apply their independent ability to utilize the actual leisure resources in a community through community programs. To realize this, it is necessary to secure recognition of leisure use from teachers instructing leisure use as a curriculum and examine points to be improved and importance mentioned about community-based leisure activity participation. The latest research on lifelong planning extends leisure activity from existing elements and implies the necessity of preparation in holistic aspects. As the crucial resources of leisure activity for students with developmental disability, this author focuses on the importance of leisure activities in schools and in communities and provides supportive measures to elevate accessibility to leisure activity.

The purpose of this study was to present the direction and implications of urban development in relation to climate risk factors and environment for practical implementation of urban development in response to climate change. The research method was carried out through a qualitative data survey and analysis. As a result of the study, the direction of urban development according to the climate risk factors emphasized the importance of preparing conditions for urban development by establishing a damage prevention system for natural disasters and analyzing the risk of natural disasters by conducting analysis of the impact and vulnerability of climate change in urban planning. The direction of urban development on the environmental side suggested the need for the promotion of public transport oriented development (TOD) in the form of urban planning to realize sustainable and practical urban development. Future research directions will need to be supplemented with more quantitative and empirical findings.

We live in an age which is exponentially growing as the knowledge paradigm is changing. New sites are subject to contemporary landscape architecture function as "fields" in which this hybrid aspect is both actively practiced and becoming a catalyst for change in the area of landscape architecture. With this as its background, this study attempts to deal with how the aspect of integration in environmental design is manifested. For this purpose, the tendencies for the discussion of integration in various fields of practice were examined: planning theories, urban theories, architecture, public environment, engineering, and landscape architecture. As yet, the discussions of interdisciplinary integration, which occur in practice in these respective fields, mainly tend to be oriented toward the effective implementation of the merits of other related fields. Seen from these examples of practice, integrated design approaches can be found in the following three aspects: design objects, respective professional areas, and methodologies of approaches and design. In terms of design objects, the positions of individual design subjects present themselves as most obvious, and integration or combination of the physical targets that come to exist through design can be easily seen. Most examples of integration turn out to be this, in almost every case of which the theme and the target of expression are integrated via a small number of certain methods. In terms of professional areas, what can be mainly evidenced is how the individual subject acts when the subject designs. The strong points of professionals from each field seem to create synergy, achieving through integration optimum results. In terms of methodologies of approaches and design, there are attempts to create integrated approaches as ways of effective decision-making, in which case the integration of all of the interest parties is of primary concern. As yet, few instances have been found in which integrated design has had enough strength to be seen as a concrete design methodology based on practical examples. However, it is encouraging that theoretical approaches and the necessity for integrated design have been identified from multiple perspectives, and that a practical movement such as landscape urbanism has come into active being. The authors of this study find this point in time to be ripe for discussions on integrated practices in terms of environmental design, on the basis of the synthetic approaches mentioned above.

새해가 밝으면 가족과 친지들끼리 덕담을 주고받으며 서로의 건강과 만사형통을 기원한다. 그러나 단지 건강을 바라는 마음만으로는 질병 없이 건강하게 살려는 꿈이 이루어지지 않을 것이다. 끊임없이 자신의 건강상태를 체크해보고 개인에게 맞는 건강관리법을 택해 꾸준히 관리하는 것이 건강을 유지하는 유일한 방법일 것이다. 우리나라의 주요 사망원인을 보면 암이 가장 많고 이어 뇌혈관 질환, 심장질환, 운수사고, 간질환 순을 나타났다. 이들 주요 사망원인들은 식생활이나 스트레스 관리, 운동, 안전수칙준수 등으로 충분히 예방할 수 있는 생활습관에서 오는 원인들이다. ‘이달의 건강길라잡이’에서는 주요 만성질환 예방 및 국민건강증진을 위하여 새해를 맞아 건강과 질병의 개념에 대해 알아보고 건강과 질병은 연장선상에 있는 것이며 따라서 건강은 꾸준히 관리해야만 한다는 것의 의미를 알아본다. 또한 암 · 심장질환 등 주요 만성 질병 예방을 위한 건강 지침을 제안하며 가족의 건강생활실천을 도모하고자 한다.

일본 일본공조위생공사업협회는 지난 5월 288일 창립 70주년을 기념하는 제60회 통상총회를 열고 2008년도 사업계획을 발표했다. 이 중 우리의 관심을 끄는 것은 기획총무부문의 설비공사의 직접발주(분리발주)에 대한 주장이다. 일본 공조위생공사업협회는 국가, 지방자치단체, 독립행정법인, 민간발주자 등에 대하여 설비업계의 적극적인 홍보활동을 전개하면서 특히 민간발주자에게 "설비는, 전문가인 설비공사업자에게 직접 발주하여 주십시오!"라는 주장을 펼치기로 했다. 또한 건설업계에 "직접발주(분리발주)"라는 용어의 정착을 추진키로 했다. 우리에게 원 하도급 간에 계열화가 정착된 것으로 알려진 일본은 공공공사에서는 분리발주가 정착되었으나 민간발주 부문에서는 아직도 분리발주가 완전히 실현되지 않고 있어서 이같은 사업을 추진하고 있는 것으로 보여진다. 따라서 일본 공조위생공사업협회는 민간공사에서도 절대적으로 분리발주 해 줄 것을 요구하는 슬로건을 내세우고 있으며, 더 나아가 100% 분리발주 확대 추진을 목표로 하고 있다. 다음은 일본공조위생공사협회가 총회에서 채택한 슬로건이다.

15대 국회 후반기, 보건복지위원장으로 선출된 김찬우 의원. 보건의료계 출신으로 위원장에 선출된 만큼, 보건의료계에서 거는 기대도 남다르다. 11대에 정계에 입문해, 의사 정치인으로서의 길을 걸어 온 김찬우 위원장은, 세간의 기대 이전에 의사 출신으로서 국민 특히 취약계층의 건강과 복지를 꼭 실현하겠다는 확고한 신념과 계획을 가지고 있다. 김위원장의 취약계층에 대한 사랑은 젊을 때부터 몸소 실천해 온 일이기도 하다. 정치에 입문하기 훨씬 이전부터, 고향인 영덕에서 개원하여 지역주민을 위한 인술을 펼쳐왔던 것. 그를 국회로 보내기를 강력히 희망했던 고향사람들의 의지는, 그저 고향을 빛내기 위한 일이 아니었음을 짐작케 하는 이력이기도 하다. 그의 첫인상은 우선, 소탈하고 서민적이어서 우리 아버지 혹은 이웃과 같은 편안함을 느낄 수 있게 한다. 그러나 대화를 해 나갈수록 일에 대한 강한 열정과 적극성 또한 대단한 사람이 김 위원장이다. 사랑의 의술, 사랑의 정치, 사랑의 보건복지를 위해 한번 화끈하게 뛰어보겠다는 김찬우 위원장의 보건복지정책 구상을 들어본다.

Canada has a rich history in the theory and development of the field of health promotion. Over 25 years ago, in 1974, the Canadian government produced the first government policy document that identified health promotion as a national strategy. The document, which came from the national Health Minister, was entitled A New Perspective on the Health of Canadians (Lalonde, 1974).

우리나라의 DSM 추진상황을 보면, 많은 정책의 제시나 실천의 필요성은 제기되고 있으나, 정책의 잦은 변화, 목표의 모호함, 효과 측정 및 정량적 분석 부족, 실행계획의 구체성 부족등 국가적 장기전략에 따른 효율적인 대책이라기보다 단기적, 단편적 개념을 크게 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 이러한 모든 상황을 타개할 수 있는 커다란 방안의 하나가 원자력발저소의 보급확대이다. 물론 원자력발전소의 보급 확대에는 입지난이 문제이긴 하다. 그러나 입지난이 해결될지라도 감발운전이 불가능한 원자력발전소의 단점으로 인하여 원자력발전은 기저부하로 이용되고 있을 뿐이어서 이를 보완할 필요가 있다. 이의 보완은 심야에 발생하는 원자력발전에 의한 잉여전력을 에너지(전력)저장설비를 이용하여 일정량 저장하였다가 주간에 사용하는 것이다. 이미 양수발전소가 이를 대응하고 있지만 양수발전소도 입지난에 봉착하고 있어서 새로운 전력저장방식의 도입이 필요한 실정이다.

Community noise has been serious social issues in Korea. This paper reviews current statistics and status on railway noise, with practical engineering tools in order to reduce the noise level from railway traffic noise sources. At the beginning, guidelines of the current environmental policy are discussed, with the new policy on railway noise to be enforced beginning in 2007 with 5 year schedule. Then, a noise reducer is proposed as a tool to reduce noise levels protecting people living near at the railway. Details on the acoustic effect in field test are discussed with the result of implementation in the street. We propose noise reducers as an effective and practical tool for the people who are exposed to rail traffic noise in cities.
