  • In this study, the on-site location identification and response system was proposed by accurately checking the location information of rescue requesters in the buildings using the smartphone Wi-Fi AP. The location server was requested to measure the strength of the Wi-Fi AP at least 25 times at 8 different building location points. And the accuracy of the position and the error range were checked by analyzing the coordinate values of the received positions. In addition, the response time was measured by changing the conditions of location information in three groups to compare the response time for saving lives with and without location information. The minimum and maximum error values for the eight cases were found to be at least 4.137 m and up to 14.037 m, respectively, with an average error of 9.525 m. Compared to the base transceiver station (BTS) based position error value of 263m, the range could be reduced by up to 93%. When the location information was given, it took 10 minutes and 50 seconds to save lives; however, when there was no location information at all, rescue process took more than 45 minutes. From this research effort, it was analyzed that the acquisition of the location information of rescuees in the building using the smartphone Wi-Fi AP approach is effective in reducing the life-saving time for on-site responses.

  • The fingerprint, which is one of the methods of indoor localization using WiFi, has been frequently studied because of its ability to be implemented via wireless access points. This method has low positioning resolution and high computational complexity compared to other methods, caused by its dependence of reference points in the radio map. In order to compensate for these problems, this paper presents a radio map designed algorithm based on the log-distance path loss model fusing a WiFi and BLE fingerprint. The proposed algorithm designs a radio map with variable values using the log-distance path loss model and reduces distance errors using a median filter. The experimental results of the proposed algorithm, compared with existing fingerprinting methods, show that the accuracy of positioning improved by from 2.747 m to 2.112 m, and the computational complexity reduced by a minimum of 33% according to the access points.

  • People counting is an important technology to provide application services such as smart home, smart building, smart car, etc. Due to the social distancing of COVID-19, the people counting technology attracted public attention. People counting system can be implemented in various ways such as camera, sensor, wireless, etc. according to service requirements. People counting system using WiFi AP uses WiFi CSI data that reflects multipath information. This technology is an effective solution implementing indoor with low cost. The conventional WiFi CSI-based people counting technologies have low accuracy that obstructs the high quality service. This paper proposes a deep learning people counting system based on WiFi CSI data. Data preprocessing using auto-encoder, data augmentation that transform WiFi CSI data, and a proposed deep learning model improve the accuracy of people counting. In the experimental result, the proposed approach shows 89.29% accuracy in 6 subjects.

  • In this paper, in order to improve the error is utilized to location tracking the smart sensor detects a walking information user, RSSI is to provide an indoor position tracking system that is capable of correcting an error in terms weak. The acceleration sensor is able to detect the activity in the user walking and detects the number of step and the moving distance using the same. The Direction sensor is utilized as a digital compass, to detect the moving direction of the user. As a result of detecting the walking information using the sensor, it can be showed that this proposed indoor positioning system has a high degree of accuracy for the number of steps and the movement direction. Therefore, this paper shows that the proposed technique can correct the error of the location information to be problem in the conventional indoor location system which uses the only Wi-Fi APs by estimating the user's movement direction and distance using the sensors in smartphone without an additional equipment and cost.

  • Recently, governmental authority and local government are looking for a method of utilizing location information of smart phone for urgent rescue in fire and kidnap situation. Under this background, in this study, a method of rapidly collecting, constructing location determination based Wi-Fi AP data utilizing location information of smart phone and mobile mapping system was suggested in order to construct precise positioning information that could be utilized under urgent situation. By performing compensation work for GPS/INS/DMI through collected outcome, position of collected vehicle was acquired. In addition, source data integrating Wi-Fi information and collected position by coupling based on Wi-Fi AP collector and GPS time was constructed and Wi-Fi radiomap was constructed by removing Wi-Fi signal noise that reduces precise position performance. As a result of performing location determination performance assess ment by selecting 10 test positions by each local government, result value of 25.46cm for total local government average and 27.76m for SD could be obtained. It is considered that this result could be utilized as a technology of being able to supplement or substituting GPS location determination technology that is impossible in plocation determination of mobile communication company's base station (200m~2km) and indoor being used at present.

  • Internal Ballistic modeling and performance prediction for solid propellant micro thruster was performed with heat loss to the chamber wall as an important factor of miniaturization. Simple l-D end-burner type thruster and general HTPB-AP type composite propellant were selected for computation model. The results showed that the performance loss with the heat loss to the surroundings becomes larger as the surface-to-volume ratio is increased. In this case, the total impulse was reduced about 3% of the case in adiabatic condition.

  • Currently, the technique of identifying location using radio wave fingerprint is widely used in indoor positioning field. At this time, in order to confirm a successful position, it is necessary to construct the data necessary for learning and testing and to construct the multidimensional data. That is, location data collection and data management technology capable of responding to environmental changes that may occur due to various changes in peripheral radio wave fingerprint such as wireless AP, BLE iBeacon, and mobile terminal are required. Therefore, this paper proposes a technique to construct and manage multidimensional data which is less sensitive to environmental changes of radio wave fingerprinting required for positioning.

  • IPS is an indoor positioning system that replaces GPS, which is less accurate due to walls and roofs inside buildings. Radio signals such as Wi-Fi are used instead of satellite signals, and complex methods are being used to increase accuracy. In this paper, we present a more efficient positioning method than before by applying high-level signals to high-accuracy fingerprint techniques. A radio map is configured with high-level signals collected by utilizing Wi-Fi APs, which are more than in the past. The suitability of use was confirmed by analyzing the pattern represented by the configured radio map for each location.

  • Location-Based Services(LBS) is a service that provide location information by using communication network or satellite signal. In order to provide LBS precisely and efficiently, we studied how we can reduce the error on location determination of objects such people and things. We focus on using the least square method and triangulation positioning method to improves the accuracy of the existing location determination method. Above two methods is useful if the distance between the AP and the tags can be find. Though there are a variety of ways to find the distance between the AP and tags, least squares and triangulation positioning method are wildely used. In this thesis, positioning method is composed of preprocessing and calculation of location coordinate and detail of methodology in each stage is explained. The distance between tag and AP is adjusted in the preprocessing stage then we utilize least square method and triangulation positioning method to calculate tag coordinate. In order to confirm the performance of suggested method, we developed the test program for location determination with Labview2010. According to test result, triangulation positioning method showed up loss error than least square method by 38% and also error reduction was obtained through adjustment process and filtering process. It is necessary to study how to reduce error by using additional filtering method and sensor addition in the future and also how to improve the accuracy of location determination at the boundary location between indoor and outdoor and mobile tag.

  • A different and effective method for indoor positioning system is needed and increased it's importance compare to the outdoor GPS based method. The FingerPrint positioning method is known as a superior method in indoor positioning system that maintains signal strength patterns for RPs(Reference Points) in database and compare the DB with the measured real-time signals on the mobile device. FingerPrint positioning method is necessary to establish an accurate database, but errors can occur by several factors. In this paper, we analyze the signal patterns of each terminal in accordance with connection state of access point and trace that the error in accordance with connection state of access point can be an important error in FingerPrint DB configuration through an experimental case study.
