  • This study has surveyed 379 social workers to recognize how much they believe their behaviors are ethical related to dual relationship and how many they have experienced dual relationships with their clients. In addition, we also examined if there were significant differences in social workers' beliefs and experiences according to their socio-demographic characteristics and organizational properties. To accomplish this purpose, we conducted frequency analysis, single sample t-test and one-way analysis of variance focusing on sexual, bartering and private relationships. Respondents tend to have a little permissive attitude about dual relationships while they little experienced of them. Social workers's beliefs and experiences are different depending on gender, education level, work experience, position, training experience of ethics and service target. From these results, it suggested that code of ethics for social workers and the curriculum of social work ethics should be revised reflecting on present field situation and inspiring ethical sensitivity.

Second, the occupational ethics, occupational value, and educational belief of preservice childcare teachers showed statistically significant correlations. Third, the occupational ethics of preservice childcare teachers had positive effects on the occupational value and educational beliefs. Based on these results, it is necessary to conduct diverse research studies for the formation of clear and appropriate occupational values and positive educational beliefs, so that childcare providers could perceive the importance of occupational ethics and provide high-quality childcare services.

  • The purpose of this article was to study how social workers' belief and behaviors with respect to ethical issues have changed during the past decade by comparing the results of studies carried out in 2001 and 2011, respectively. Focusing on dual relationship with clients, this article reviewed how social workers' belief and behaviors towards ethical issues have changed over the changing socio-demographic characteristics and varying properties of the organizations for which the workers provide services. To accomplish this purpose, we surveyed 356 social workers while the results of the survey was subjected to a comparative review with another research performed 10 years ago under a similar approach. Widely acknowledged during the survey was that the social workers appeared to have more rigid ethical standards compared to 10 years ago; however, they tended to be more permissive in certain issues such as bartering relationship and private relationship. In addition, according to the survey, belief and behaviors of social workers towards ethical issues varied depending upon their gender, education level, and the properties of the organization as seen in the survey in 2001 while the modalities have changed over the decade. Based on these results, it is suggested that the curriculum of social work ethics should be revised to reflect present field situation and inspire ethical sensitivity.

  • The Moon Jae-In government's nuclear phase-out policy, on the one hand, has significance in that it has for the first time put the brakes on the nuclear expansion policy and has escaped from the inertia of existing policies. On the other hand, however, since the ethical basis of the nuclear phase-out has not been clearly defined as policy norms, it faces the contradiction between the nuclear phase-out domestically and the export promotion of nuclear power plants. Furthermore the nuclear phase-out policy remains ambiguous and politically irresponsible in that there is no political vision for the energy transition or nuclear phase-out time; and the nuclear phase-out policies have not been enacted yet. This paper considered that these kinds of problems have stemmed from the absence of nuclear politics and analyzed its causes and effects. In this paper the causes of the absence of nuclear politics were identified in the characteristics of the Korean developmental state model and administrative bureaucrats' planning; and its effects were qualitatively analysed through the National Assembly members' statements expressed on the minutes of the relevant National Assembly Standing Committees. The result of the analysis indicates that the lack of nuclear power politics led to the failure of the legislature to control the nuclear administration and led to irresponsible politics especially in the nuclear back-end management. Therefore this research emphasized the necessity of responsible intervention of party politics in the nuclear policy and suggested the policy norms for the nuclear phase-out based on the concepts of Max Weber 's the ethics of conviction (Gesinnungsethik) and the ethics of responsibility (Verantwortungsethik).

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate nurses' ethical dilemma and professionalism in long-term care hospitals. Participants in this study were 210 nurses working in 14 long-term care hospitals. Data analysis was done using SPSS / WIN 24.0 program. As a result of this study, the ethical dilemma of the nurse was moderate. The highest sub-area was 'nurse-patient relationship' and 'respect of life and human rights' was the lowest sub-area. The professionalism of the subjects was moderate, and the score of 'sense of mission' area was the lowest. Nursing ethics guidelines should be developed that reflect the ethical dilemma of nurses in long-term care hospitals, and will provide the right values for the ethical dilemma that nurses face in their workplace. When planning the nurses' professionalism education, it is necessary to have a strategy to enhance the sense of mission by emphasizing beliefs and values about nursing care.

  • In this paper, the main subjects with which I deal are as follows: (1) Is Distancing Philosophy from the real ruling power a way of practical-philosophical resistance, based on social reformation as a axiological directivity of Kim Tae-Gil's ethical thought, though it is negative type of resistance? Or is it a sort of transformed value-free opportunist behavior which allows antidemocratic ruling group to coerce the people into submission, assuming an uncompromising stand seemingly? (2) Is Kim's defense argument on the opening of the course of National Ethics and the all-out activation of National Ethics education under Park's Yushin Regime derived from his own philosophical belief? Or is it brought out from the external conditions and circumstances surrounding Kim Tae-Gil which forces him to participate in the national undertaking for the settlement of the course of National Ethics in the university? The 'provisional' answers about the two subjects are as follows: (1) Kim's Distancing Philosophy is a type of practical philosophical revolt against the dictatorship power under Yushin Regime, though it is negative form of resistance. We can accept this philosophical elucidation above all by confirming the fact that the reform of reality is the main ethical trait running through his entire ethical thought system. However distancing philosophy disclose the crucial limits to allow itself to boil to the philosophical practice compromising with real ruling power eventually, though it is intended upon its own social ethical directivity and conviction. (2) The primary factor which affects Kim to propose such an advocation argument on the course of National Ethics and the education of National Ethics is the external conditions and circumstances surrounding him, especially the power-relation between he and ruling group and intimate human relation between he and his superior philosophers who carries out the role of a ideologue for the Yushin Regime, rather than his own philosophical belief. But no matter what primary factor, Kim's action to make a advocating argument to support the course and the education of National Ethics is to blame, on that account that he cannot adequately his social responsibility and role given to him as a reformist moral philosopher who will pursue the realization of righteous democratic society. Along with that, It is not too enough to criticize him sharply for such defending action. The reason is that his supporting stance for National Ethics education is brought out, by not adhering closely to the philosophical way of distancing from the dictatorial power devoid of political legitimacy and moral justification.

  • The purpose of this study is to research how a teaching personality and ethics in teaching affect the competence of students majoring in early childhood education. Questionnaires were distributed to 211 early childhood education students residing in I-city. For this study, frequency analysis, averages, and standard deviation were calculated by using SPSS 22.0, with Cronbach's alpha for the reliability test. To determine the relevance of each variable, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were done, with results as follows. First, the teaching personalities perceived most by the students were morality and educational principles. Ethics for infants and ethics for households were most perceived in the ethics of teaching; for competency, understanding of the curriculum, understanding infant protection, and learning support were perceived the most. Second, there is a statistically significant correlation among a teacher's personality, ethics, and competence. Third, the sub-factors of both personality and ethics have a positive effect on competence. The above results indicate that there should be multilateral research into students majoring in early childhood education to ensure they have correct and positive competency so they can provide high-quality early childhood education services, recognizing the importance of competence.
