Flow Characteristics inside a Throttle Valve Used to Control the Intake Air Flow in Engines (엔진의 흡기 공기량 조절용 스로틀 밸브에서의 유동 특성)

  • This paper describes the air flow characteristics inside the throttle valve. Tow-dimensional steady incompressible Navier-Strokes equation are solved numerically with embedding the conceopt of the artificial compressibility and adopting the Baldwin-Lomax turbulence model. With varying the valve opening angles(the Reynolds number )such as 15$^{\circ}$(5000) , 45$^{\circ}$(3000) , 75$^{\circ}$(7000) and 90$^{\circ}$(10000), respectively. tow cases, with a valve shaft and without one, are analysed. The pressure loss between the entrance and exit is severe at 15$^{\circ}$, 100 times as larger as that of 90$^{\circ}$ case, which also depends much on the existece of the valve shaft. The counter rotating vortices are formed over the valve plate with the shaft at only 75$^{\circ}$. They are smally and very large scale in front and back of the valve shaft , respectively. The velocity profiles of 15$^{\circ}$ and 90$^{\circ}$ at the exit are almost symmetric to the horizontal center line, however, the symmetricity is no longer maintained at 45$^{\circ}$ and 75$^{\circ}$ , and in addition, the flow at 75$^{\circ}$ is enforced a lot below center line. The pressure distribution on the walls is largely changed near the valve shaft, and its magnitude becomes great as the valve angle decreases.

  • Most of the motorcycle engines have used carburetors in the fuel system, because of its simple structure and reliability but the fuel economy and the emissions of those engines are bad when we compared with automobile engines .To meet with the tighten emission regulations and the higher requirements for fuel economy, the application of the carburetor on the motorcycle engines would be limited. Therefore, it is important to develope a ECU control system for motorcycle engines. Since the fuel injection system is expensive, it is necessary to decrease the cost of ECU system for motorcycle engines, but the accuracy of the ECU control system should be increased as high as possible. In this paper, we studied about the AFS characteristics of motorcycle engine controled by indirect method.

  • Traction control systems(TCS) improve vehicle acceleration performance and stability, particularly on slippery roads through engine torque and/or brake torque control. This research mainly deals with the engine control algorithm based on adjustment of the engine throttle valve opening. Hardware-in-the-loop simulation(HWILS) is carried out where the actual hardware is used for the engine/automatic transmission and TCS controller, while various vehicle dynamics are simulated on real-time basis. Also, use of the dynamometer is made in order to implement the tractive force that a road applies to the tire. Although some restrictions are imposed mainly due to the capability of the synamometer, simplified HWILS results show that the slip control algorithm can improve the vehicle acceleration performance for low-friction roads.

  • In a fuel injection engine, atomization of liquid fuel and mixture formation process has influenced(or affected) directly on the engine performance and pollutant emission. In this study, the characteristics of fuel spray and the behaviors of secondary atomization developed at the downstream of the valves were investigated using an image processing method. Solid and perforated valves are chosen in order to evaluate the valve performance in terns of air flow rate, valve opening angle and valve shape. Experimental results clearly indicate that the spray atomization quality can be improved by increasing the perforated rat io and the blockage rat io in the perforated valve, the characteristics of spray atomization is improved by using the perforated valve with high perforated rat io and blockage ratio.

  • 자동 변속기 차량은 여러 가지의 장점을 지니고 있으며, 쉬프트 맵의 특징이 수동 변속기 차량과는 달리 이미 규정된 패턴을 따른다 하지만 킥 다운, 킥 업, 리프트 풋 업 등의 현상이 어느 운전자에게나, 어떤 주행 상황에서나 일괄 적용되고 있기에 불만스러움을 느끼는 운전자가 있을 수 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 지능형 자동 변속 시스템의 변속 결과에 따른 운전자의 불만 정도를 고려하고 다음 변속에 반영하도록 고안한 만족도 보정 기법을 제안하고자 한다 만족도 평가는 변속이후 운전자의 조작을 관찰하며, 불만족 정도에 따라 최종 쉬프트 선도의 조정을 결정하도록 고안하였으며, 변속 시스템의 변속 결정과 운전자의 스로틀 및 브레이크 조작을 입력으로 한 신경 회로망을 구성하여 학습하였다

  • 볼텍스 튜브는 고압의 가스를 이용하여 고온 가스와 저온 가스를 분리하거나 입자상 물질의 분리에 사용할 수 있는 장치이다. 본 연구에서는 직경 8mm 볼텍스 튜브의 길이변화가 에너지분리 특성에 미치는 영향을 실험을 통하여 분석하였다. 결론적으로 튜브길이 변화에 따른 영향력은 미미하였으나, 그 중 가장 짧은 튜브길이 64mm에서 고온 출구 측의 온도차가 가장 우수한 성능을 나타내었다. 반면, 저온 출구 측에서는 거의 영향을 미치지 못하는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 볼텍스 튜브의 기초설계자료로 활용될 예정이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 운행 중인 자동차에서 스로틀밸브의 각도와 자동차의 속도를 추출하고 시스템 식별 알고리즘을 이용해 비교적 정확한 자동차의 수학적 모델링 식 즉, 전달함수를 구하고, 식별 알고리즘에 의해 구해진 고차 형태의 전달함수를 2차식과 시간지연 항으로 간략화 시켜 자동차가 순항 운행할 수 있는 제어기를 설계한다.

Until now, many automobile engineer and company have been development electronic throttle controller and control algorism, such as adaptive control, sliding control, nonlinear and so on. But there are almost electronic throttle control using DC motor or stepping motor. This paper is the design of an electronic throttle controller and electronic throttle valve control using BLDC motor instead of DC motor.

  • 본 논문에서는 무인화 ATV 엔진 액츄에이터의 시스템 특수성을 고려한 PID 제어기의 설계를 통하여 종방향 구동을 담당하는 DC 모터의 위치제어 성능을 향상시켰다. DC 모터의 문턱 전압과 마찰력으로 인한 데드존(Dead zone)을 고려하였으며, DC 모터에 연결된 액츄에이터 와이어에 의한 복원력에 대한 영향을 최소화 시켰다. 또한 DC모터의 위치를 판별하는 엔코더의 분해능을 감안하여 제어기 설계에 반영하였고, 실험을 통하여 성능을 검증하였다.
