대학수학에서 귀납적 증명에 대한 연습

  • 대학수학에서 수학적귀납법의 원리를 소개하고 풍부한 예를 통해 이해를 돕는다. 특별히 교양수학을 수강하는 1학년 학생 수준에 맞게 매스매티카 프로그램을 이용하여 구체적인 예를 갖고 한단계 한단계 접근하여 수학적귀납법의 증명을 연습할 기회를 준다. 증명을 단계적으로 하는 것을 연습하여 학생들은 논리적인 사고능력을 개발하고 새로운 명제를 발견할 수 있는 기회를 맞보게 한다. 물론, 증명 연습은 1학년 신입생에게는 쉽지 않으나 여러 명제에 대해 연습을 하는 것은 수학적, 논리적 사고 능력을 개발하고 증명문제에 대한 인식을 바꾸는데 매우 중요한 역할을 할 것이다.

Analysis of Mathematical Quality of Instruction between Preservice and Inservice Mathematics Teachers (MQI를 이용한 예비교사와 현직교사의 수학수업의 질 분석)

  • This study analyzed the quality of mathematics classes with observations using the instrument, MQI(Mathematical Quality of Instruction). Class recordings and interviews were conducted on 2 pre-service teachers and 4 in-service teachers. This study recorded and analyzed 3 or 4 classes for each mathematics teacher by using revised MQI. There were a total of 8 raters: 2 or 3 raters analyzed each class. MQI has four dimensions: Richness of the Mathematics, Working with Students and Mathematic, Errors and Imprecision, Student Participation in Meaning-Making and Reasoning. In the dimension of 'Richness of Mathematics', all teachers had good scores of 'explanations of teacher' but had lower scores of 'linking and connections', 'multiple procedures or solution methods' and 'developing mathematical generalizations.' In the dimension of 'Working with Students and Mathematics', two in-service teachers who have worked and having more experience had higher scores than others. In the dimension of 'Errors and Imprecision', all teachers had high scores. In the dimension of 'Student Participation in Meaning-Making and Reasoning', two pre-service teachers had contrast and also two in-service teachers who hadn't worked not long had contrast. Implications were deducted from finding to improving quality of mathematics classes.

  • Computer technology and internet environment have been adapted to teaching and learning in Korean educational context. However, there are several problematic areas in operating web site for teaching and learning mathematics. This study aims to investigate the operating system, such as designing web site, contents information, and contents connection of NRICH web site that has been operated as a part of 'Millennium Mathematics Project' of Cambridge University since 1997. Based on these categories, this study also gives the implications for how to develop theme-centered contents, accumulation of continuous and long-term data, induction of user's participation, and various cooperation project.

  • 벡터는 수학 문제해결을 위한 중요한 도구로써, 벡터를 이용한 문제해결 과정에서 학생들은 수학적 탐구 활동에 관련된 풍부한 경험을 가질 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 벡터를 이용하여 삼각형의 무게중심에 관한 정리를 증명하기 위한 수학적 탐구 능력이나 아이디어를 학생들이 준비할 수 있도록 정리 증명과 관련된 몇몇 문제들을 체계화하여 제시하였다. 이 문제들을 해결하는 과정에 관련된 탐구 능력을 추출하였으며, 체계화된 문제에 바탕을 둔 무게중심에 관한 정리 증명을 제시하였고, 증명 과정과 관련된 수학적 탐구 능력을 제시하였다.

An Analysis on the Example Spaces of the Concepts of Triangles in the Korean Elementary Mathematics Textbooks (초등 수학교과서의 삼각형의 개념에 대한 예 공간의 분석)

  • The purpose of this paper was to analyze the example spaces related with the concepts of triangles in the 2nd grade Korean elementary mathematics textbooks, investigate the meaning of example spaces, and suggest the implications to teaching and learning geometrical concepts in the elementary schools. Mathematics textbooks are usually major materials in teaching and learning mathematics in Korea, and the content of the textbooks affects the quality of teaching and learning in the classroom. The results of the study showed that the Korean elementary textbooks provided examples with limited example spaces concerning the concepts of triangles. The researcher suggested that we should provide rich examples spaces, encourage learner-generated example spaces, and strengthen the connections of examples between in textbooks and in the classroom.

The Conceptualizing and Practices of Mathematical Classes Based on Students' Thinking (학생 사고기반 수학 수업의 특징과 그 실제)

  • In this study, the student participation-centered class, which takes students' mathematical thinking as an important issues of the class, is named as student thinking-based math class. The main characteristics of student thinking-based mathematics classes were examined in terms of tasks, students engagement, and the role of teachers. According to the results of analysis of class cases practiced by five secondary mathematics teachers, student thinking-based mathematics classes were conducted in the intersection of the rich mathematics tasks, students' cognitive and social engagement, and the role of teachers' formative facilitator. The results of this study showed that the student's thinking is more important than the activity itself. And it is meaningful in that it examines the influence of the dynamic interaction of the three components of the mathematics class on the direction and outcome of the class.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 수학 교수 학습에서 수학에서의 기본과 창의성에 대한 한국 초등교사들의 인식에 대하여 분석해 보는 것이다. 모든 국가의 경제나 교육에 있어서 수학에서의 기본과 창의성을 강화하는 것이 가장 중요한 문제이다. 그 동안 수학에서의 기본과 창의성에 대한 한국 초등교사들의 인식에 대하여 연구한 사례는 거의 없었다. 이 연구를 위한 연구 방법으로 116명의 초등학교 교사들에게 설문지를 통하여 수학에 대한 기본 및 창의성에 대한 인식을 분석하였고, 개방형 질문을 사용하여 필요한 교사들을 대상으로 반구조적인 면담을 실시하였다. 교사들이 수학의 기본과 창의성에 대하여 중요한 것으로 강조를 하고 있으나 수학과의 교수 학습에서 학생들에게 이를 적절하게 강화시키는 데는 어려움을 가지고 있었다. 연구의 결과 교사들이 수학의 기본과 창의성에 대하여 교수 학습에서 학생들에게 이를 적절하게 지도하는 할 수 있도록 하기 위한 예비교사 및 현직교사들의 교육이 필요함을 지적하였다. 그리고 수학교육에서 학생들의 기본 및 창의성을 신장을 돕기 위하여 교사들에게 풍부한 자료의 제공이 필요함을 제안하였다.

  • We believe that there can be a mutually supportive relationship between emphasizing problem solving and emphasizing understanding in mathematics instruction, when teachers teach via problem solving, as well as about it and for it they provide their student with a powerful and important means of developing their own understanding. As students' understanding of mathematics becomes deeper and richer, their ability to use mathematics to solve problem increases.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze the problem of mathematic education of Korean Kindergarten, to search for the solution of the problem in korean Kindergarten. In particular, materials are mostly made and used by the teachers themselves, consuming too much time. Mathematics education materials available in Kindergartens were found to be insufficient. The reasons were the lack of effort by teachers to develop new materials as well as the lack of marketed materials.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the preservice elementary teachers' knowledge of division through open-ended problems focused on the following perspectives in understanding division : connectedness between procedural and conceptual knowledge as well as the knowledge of units. Results indicates that the preservice elementary teachers showed low level of understanding of division such as the making word problem including division of fractions and the identification of the units in division operation.
