A Study of Attitudes on Advertisement and Brand Preference of Underware (속옷광고에 대한 태도와 상표선호도에 대한 연구)

  • We investigated the relationship between the attitudes and brand preference on the expression techniques of advertisement of underwears and actual buying. A total of 233 females living in Seoul and Taejon were surveyed to compare these points of five major underwear brands (Vivien, Ravora, Wacoal, Calvin Klein, Let'xes).The survey showed that the responders reacted more positively to the revolutionary advertising techniques of the Calvin Klein, and Let'xes than to the more conservative techniques of the Vivien, Ravora, and Wocoal.The most positive response was obtained from the Calvin klein's revolutionary techniques while the most negative response from the Ravora. The most preferred brand was the vivien, followed by the Calvin Klein, Wacoal, Ravora, and Let'xes. The degree of preference varied according to the demographic variables like age, schooling, income, occupation, and residential area. As for the motive of preference, the Calvin Klein ranked best in respect to shape, quality, advertisement, and comfortability. The price factor was best for the Ravora. The Let'xes ranked worst in all aspects. However, there was discrepancy between the attitudes on advertisement and the actual buying, this implying that the attitudes on advertisement did not seem to directly affect actual purchasing behavior.

QM/MM-MD Simulation을 통한 수용액 상에서의 Formamide Hydrolysis Mechanism 연구

  • Peptide bond hydrolysis는 세포 내외의 생화학반응에 있어서 핵심이다. 하지만 amide Hydrolysis Mechanism은 아직 명확하게 규명되지 않았다. pH가 중성인 물에서의 비 촉매 가수분해가 발생하는 몇몇 실험적 증거가 있지만, 해당 반응 매커니즘은 4 가지(non-assisted concerted, non-assisted step-wise, assisted concerted, assisted step-wise)로 여전히 논란이 있다. 이번 연구에서는, Formamide의 가능한 Hydrolysis Mechanism을 자세히 연구해보고자 한다. 먼저, Ab-initio 계산을 통해 4가지 반응 메커니즘의 다시 한번 확인하고, quantum chemical calculations과 quantum mechanical molecular dynamic이 결합된 (QMMD) simulation을 통하여 water solvent에서의 반응 메커니즘의 에너지관계를 규명하였다. 결론적으로 아직 계산이 끝나지 않은 supported concerted mechanism을 제외한 모든 계산에서 non-supported, supported 두 system 모두에서 step-wise가 일어나기 쉬웠고, non-supported 보다 supported mechanism이 선호됨을 보였다. Intermediate인 amino-gem-diol의 수용액 상에서 안정화 또한 나타났다. 이는 Ab-initio 계산만 통해서는 정확하게 산출할 수 없는 엔트로피의 영향을 잘 보여준다.

Consumer Response Change according to the Level of Personalization of Internet Shopping Mall (인터넷 쇼핑몰의 개인화 수준에 따른 소비자의 반응 변화)

  • In the flood of information, many consumers want to choose the style that is suitable for their sensibility, which is usefulness and need for personalized services have been steadily increasing. This study made a video of personalized internet shopping mall and then university students (N=170) who have been using the internet shopping mall were asked to experience this and the change in consumer response was measured. According to level of personalization, this study found difference of web-site evaluation, satisfaction/internet behavior and quality evaluations of products. With regard to preferred types of internet shopping malls and the number of access, the difference was investigated. The results are as follows. First, subjects who experienced internet shopping mall of active personalization showed higher level of active personalization. Level of passive personalization differed depending on preferred types of internet shopping malls, for example, people who prefer online apparel shopping mall were low but people who prefer complex big shopping mall and social commerce were high. Second, after experiencing internet shopping mall of active personalization, satisfaction/internet behavior and quality evaluations of products did not change but passive personalization decreased and active personalization and web-site evaluation increased. Third, the number of access to internet shopping mall positively correlated with satisfaction/internet behavior and web-site evaluation, on the other hand, active personalization negatively correlated with satisfaction/internet behavior and web-site evaluation.

Analyses of Valatile Compounds from Allium sup. and Ovipositional Response of Delia antiqua to Various Volatile Chemicals (Allium속 방향성 성분의 분석과 방향성 성분이 고자리파리(Delia antiqua) 산란에 미치는 영향)

  • The major volatiles from Allium species were found to be sulfide compounds and the ratio of sulfide to volatiles was 66.1% in garlic, 66.1% in scallion, 62.3% in green onion, 39.2% in onion, and 4.2% in chive. Trace of cyclooctasulfur was found to be present among the volatiles. The most oviposition of 17.2% occurred at diallyl sulfide and the least of 0.8% at acetylthiophene whereas the most oviposition of 43.3% occurred at ethyl alcohol if concentration was 100%. Among the organic solvents used for dilution, ethyl alcohol received the highest 52.5% of oviposition and ether the lowest of 5.9%. Furfuryl mercaptan which is also one of the volatiles, received 46.9% of oviposition. For oviposition site, D. antiqua preferred sulfides at near 1%, ethyl alcohol at high, and other volatiles at various concentrations. At 100% concentration, most volatiles except dimethyl disulfide and ethyl alcohol received less oviposition than the control which was watered sand with no volatiles added.

The Influence of Aesthetic Elements on Affect Symbol Design - Focused on the Korean Symbol Design - (선호 심볼 디자인에 대한 심미적 영향 요소의 관계 연구 - 한국 심볼 디자인을 중심으로 -)

  • The elements to enhance preference in symbol design are mainly related to consumers' response and aesthetic elements. Because certain aesthetic elements in design affect consumers' response and it is actually presented through (the different level of) preference. This study through surveying case studies examines whether a certain aesthetic element in symbol design gives rise to much preference. According to the result of study, high preference in symbolic design depends on high level of Rhythm, Balance, Harmony, Elaboration, Round, Gestalt, Organic, and Artificial/Natural among aesthetic elements. In comparison, it is founded that Simplicity/complexity, Objective/Abstract, depth, and symmetry should be designed at the moderate level, and proportion, repetition of elements be at the low level. Additionally(or Besides) this study makes out that symbol design cases with high preference have shapes from natural material or patterns of traditional culture, while cases with low preference have shapes from geometric figures. On the basis of these results, a guideline of symbol design could De offered(or suggested) to fit preference of consumers. But, this study is mostly concerned with only affect among emotional reactions of consumer in a scope of study, and is considered only in the aspect of form excluding color and texture.

Re-examination of Response Compatability Hypothesis in Decision-Making (결정에서 반응 조화설의 재검증)

  • Three studies re-examined Shafer's(1993) response compatibility hypothesis in decision making. This hypothesis proposes that participants choose or reject an option when its features are compatible with either a selection or a rejection response. By changing the description of options into sentences and by the prior presentation of either a selection or a rejection question, we obtained results fairly consistent with the predictions of the response compatibility hypothesis. Based on the analysis of both previous and present results, we discussed the importance of preference elicitation methods when constructing options. Our results were compared to those of recent studies.

Resistance of the New Varieties Milyang $\#21\;and\;\#23$ to Plant-and Leaf-hoppers (멸구$\cdot$매미충에 대한 수도 신품종 밀양 21 및 23호의 저항성)

  • Laboratory experiments were conducted to evaluate the resistance of the new rice varieties Milyang $\#$21 and $\#$23 at the seedling stage to the brown planthopper(Nilaparvata lugens), small brown planthopper(Laodelphax striatellus), white-back planthopper(Sogatella furcifera), green rorice leafhopper(Nephotettix cincticeps) and zigzag-striped leafhopper (Recilia dorsalis) The varieties Yushin and T(N)-1 were used as susceptible check and the resistant check varieties were Mudgo to brown planthopper, ASD-7 :o small brown planthopper, Colombo to white-back planthopper, IR2061 (46763) to green rice leafhopper and Vellailanalgayan to zigzag-striped leafhopper. The varieties Milyang $\#$21 and $\#$23 were moderate in plant reaction only to the green rice leafhopper and $\#$23 was moderately resistant in plant rection only to the small brown planthopper. The nymphs of plant-and leaf-hoppers were more prefered Milyang $\#$21 and $\#$23 and susceptible check-varieties were more preferred for feeding than the resistant check-varieties. The green rice leafhopper and aigzag·striped leafhopper much more prefered Milyang $\#$21 and $\#$23 for oviposition, while brown planthopper and small brown planthopper more prefered the resistant cheeks than test varieties and susceptible checks. However, there was no any steady relationship in ovipositional preference between resistant and susceptible to the hoppers. Shorter nymphal-periods and higher rate of adult emergence were observed in the test varieties and the susceptible checks compared with the resistant checks. In conclusion, the varieties Milyang $\#$21 and $\#$23 seemed to be lack of true resistance to the plant-and leaf-hoppers from the viewpoints of antibiosis and feeding preference.

Varietal Resistance of Rice to the Green Rice Leafhopper, Nephotettix cincticeps Uhler (끝동매미충에 대한 벼의 저항성 및 그 기작에 관한 연구)

  • Experiments were conducted to select the new varieties and or/lines of rice resistant to the green rice leafhopper, Nephotettix cincticeps Uhler, and to evaluate the nature of their resistance to the insects in connection with the antibiosis and feeding and ovipositional preferences. The materials tested in this study were the varieties and or/lines of rice mostly proposed by the International Insect Resistance Nursery of IRRI and some others also orginiated from IRRI. Out of the 48 varieties and or/lines the 9 were selected as resistant and the 11 as mderately resistant. They have high antibiosis to the insects, showing significantly higher nymphal mortality and less adult emergence in the resistant and moderately resistant ones than the susceptible and moderately susceptible varieties Jinheung and Tong-il. Feeding perference was significantly different between the resistant and susceptible rice plants, resulting in much lower on resistant ones and much higher on susceptible ones. Ovipositional preference, however, was not different at all between the resistant and the susceptible ones. The nature of varietal resistance of rice to the green rice leafhopper seemed to be surely associated with the antibiosis and non-feeding preference.
