Conflict-Free Memory System for Subarray Access (서브어레이 접근을 위한 충돌회피 기억장치)

  • 이 논문에서는 pq개의 PE(Processing Element)를 가진 SIMD처리기에서 기억 장치 접근시간을 감소시키기 위한 충돌회피 기억장치를 제안했다. 이 기억장치는 MxN 배열내 자료들의 임의의 위치에서 일정 간격인 블록형태와 8방향 선형태인 pd개의 자료들의 동시 접근을 지원한다. 기억모듈 수는 pq보다 큰 소수이고, 간격은 기억모듈 수의 배수가 아닌 양수이다. 간단하고 빠른 주소계산회로와 이동회로를 위해, 요구된 자료들에서 첫번째 자료의 기준 주소와 pq개의 주소간의 차들로 구분한 후, 주소간의 차들은 첫번째 자료 요소의 기억모듈번호로부터 번호에 따라 오름차순 정렬되고 빠른 기억모듈에 저장된다. 그래서 m개의 주소간의 차이들에 첫번째 자료의 기준주소 더해진 후, 첫 번째 요소의 기억모듈 번호에 의한 오른쪽 회전이 간격을 가진 9가지 서브어레이 모두이게 요구된다. 9가지 자료 이동 형태를 멀티플렉싱과 회전에 의해 1가지로 감소시킨 효율적인 자료 이동 회로를 제안하였다. 제안된 충돌회피기억 장치는 이전기억 장치와 비교하여 자료 접근형태, 간격, 자료 배열의 크기에 제한, 하드웨어 비용, 속도, 복잡도면에서 개선하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 Convolution기법 기반 RBFNNs 패턴 분류기를 사용한 2차원 얼굴인식 시스템을 설계한다. 제안된 방법은 특징 추출과 차원축소를 하는 컨볼루션 계층과 부분추출 계층을 교대로 연결하여 2차원 이미지를 1차원의 특징 배열로 만든다. 그 후, 만들어진 1차원의 특징 배열을 RBFNNs 패턴 분류기의 입력으로 사용하여 인식을 수행한다. RBFNNs의 조건부에는 FCM 클러스터링 알고리즘을 사용하며 연결가중치는 1차 선형식을 사용하였다. 또한 최소 자승법(LSE : Least Square Estimation)을 사용하여 다항식의 계수를 추정하였다. 제안된 모델의 성능을 평가하기 위해 CMU PIE Database를 사용한다.

  • This paper presents analysis and design for printed directive antenna using Bluetooth AP system. For the miniaturization of the antennas, dielectric substrate (${\varepsilon}_r$=4.6) and planar line Yagi-Uda antenna structure are used. The proposed Yagj-Uda antennas are simulated using commercial simulator (HFSS). The results of the simulation are presented and compared with characteristics of each array type. Especially, the proposed antennas can be applied to the design of various communication systems for 2.4 GHz band.

  • This study proposes a fully non-contact measurement method to assess acoustic nonlinearity of narrowband surface waves generated by a line-arrayed laser beam by using a laser-ultrasonic detector in the way of two-wave mixing (TWM) method. This method was applied to figure out a relationship between plastic deformation and nonlinearity characteristics of a plastically deformed aluminum specimens. The experimental results showed that the acoustic nonlinearity of the laser-generated surface wave increased proportionally to the level of tensile deformation. This tendency is in good agreement with the result of measurement by contact method with PZT-transducer.

  • Practicing engineers and researchers need computational tools that estimate accurately the cyclic response of RC walls, and in particular, force and deformation capacities and their materials strains. So this paper describes a nonlinear truss modeling approach for reinforced concrete walls, or in general, for plane stress reinforced concrete elements subjected to cyclic reversals. Nonlinear vertical, horizontal, and diagonal truss elements are used to represent concrete and steel reinforcement. The wall having aspect ratio of 1.2 was chosen to be compared with the experimental results. Here, four types of main diagonal member models and three types of diagonal members models were applied to find out more accurate results of analysis.

Determination of the Strike and the Dip of a Line Source Using Gravity Gradient Tensor (중력 변화율 텐서를 이용한 선형 이상체의 주향과 경사 결정)

  • In this paper, the automatic determination algorithm of strike and dip of a line source using gravity gradient on a single profile is proposed. In general, the gravity gradient tensor due to a line source has only two independent components because of its 2-Dimensional (2-D) characteristics. However, if the line source has the strike and dip regarding the observation profile, it comes to have five independent components. The proposed algorithm of the determination both strike and dip is based on the rotational transform that converts full gravity gradient tensor to reduced 2-D gravity gradient tensor. The least-square method is applied in order to find optimum rotational angles that make one of the row components minimalized simultaneously. The two synthetic cases of a line source are represented; one has strike only and the other has both strike and dip. This study finds that the automatic determination method using gravity gradient tensor can find directions of a line source in each case.

  • As a product of modern proof theory, linear logic is a new form of logic developed for the purpose of enhancing programming language by Professor Jean-Yves Girard of Marseille University (France) in 1987 by supplementing intuitionist logic in a sophisticated manner. Thus, linear logic' s connectives can be explained using information processing terms such as sequentiality and parallel computation. For instance, A${\otimes}$B shows two processes, A and B, carried out one after another. A&B is linked to an internal indeterminate, allowing an observer to select either A or B. A${\oplus}$B is an external indeterminate, and as such, an observer knows that either A or B holds true, but does not know which process will be true. A ${\wp}$ B signifies parallel computation of process A and process B; linear negative exhibits synchronization, that is, in order for the process A to be carried out, both A and $A^{\bot}$ have to be accomplished simultaneously. Since the field of linear logic is not very active in Korea at present, this paper deals only with syntax aspect of linear logic in order to arouse interest in the subject, leaving semantics and proof nets for future studies.

Feasibility of Two Dimensional Ion Chamber Array for a Linac Periodic Quality Assurance (선형가속기의 품질관리를 위한 2차원이온전리함배열의 유용성)

  • Aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility of 2D ion chamber array as a substitute of the water phantom system in a periodic Linac QA. For the feasibility study, a commercial ion chamber matrix was used as a substitute of the water phantom in the measurement for a routine QA beam properties. The device used in this study was the I'm RT MatriXX (Wellhofer Dosimetrie, Germany). The MatriXX consists of a 1,020 vented ion chamber array, arranged in $24{\times}24\;cm^2$ matrix. Each ion chamber has a volume of $0.08\;cm^3$, spacing of 0.762 cm. We investigated dosimetric parameters such as dose symmetry, energy ($TPR_{20,10}$), and absolute dose for comparing with the water phantom data with a Farmer-type ionization chamber (FC65G, Wellhofer Dosimetrie, Germany). For the MatriXX measurements, we used the white polystyrene phantom (${\rho}:\;1.18\;g/cm^3$) and also considered the intrinsic layer (${\rho}:\;1.06\;g/cm^3$, t: 0.36 cm) of MatriXX to be equivalent to water depth. In the preliminary study of geometrical QA using MatriXX, the rotation axis of collimator and half beam junction test were included and compared with film measurements. Regarding the dosimetrical QA, the MatriXX has shown good agreements within ${\pm}1%$ compared to the water phantom measurements. In the geometrical test, the data from MatriXX were comparable with those from the films. In conclusion, the MatriXX is a good substitute for water phantom system and film measurements. In addition, the results indicate that the MatriXX as a cost-effective novel QA tool to reduce time and personnel power.

Design and Implementation of High Efficiency Transceiver Module for Active Phased Arrays System of IMT-Advanced (IMT-Advanced 능동위상배열 시스템용 고효율 송수신 모듈 설계 및 구현)

  • The needs of active phased arrays antenna system is getting more increased for IMT-Advanced system efficiency. The active phased array structure consists of lots of small transceivers and radiation elements to increase system efficiency. The minimized module of high efficiency transceiver is key for system implementation. The power amplifier of transmitter decides efficiency of base-station. In this paper, we design and implement minimized module of high efficiency transceiver for IMT-Advanced active phased array system. The temperature compensation circuit of transceiver reduces gain error and the analog pre-distorter of linearizer reduces implemented size. For minimal size and high efficiency, the implented power amplifier consist of GaN MMIC Doherty structure. The size of implemented module is $40mm{\times}90mm{\times}50mm$ and output power is 47.65 dBm at LTE band 7. The efficiency of power amplifier is 40.7% efficiency and ACLR compensation of linearizer is above 12dB at operating power level, 37dBm. The noise figure of transceiver is under 1.28 dB and amplitude error and phase error on 6 bit control is 0.38 dB and 2.77 degree respectively.

  • Nonlinear behavior and large deformation cannot be analyzed using techniques based on linear theory. Nonetheless, they are emerging as gradually huge and complex structures. In addition, the optimum design of structure is necessary in the development of high-performance computation and numerical methods. as well as stricter design-criterion. Therefore, the structural problems in engineering that are limited to the linear region must be extended to the nonlinear region. Likewise, structural behavior must be accurately analyzed. In turn, this requires considering the expected problems beforehand. Only then can an efficient, economical, and optimized structure be designed. This paper presents the solution of the geometrical nonlinear problem of anisotropic cylindrical shell. The characteristics of the geometrical nonlinear behavior of anisotropic circular cylindrical shells may vary according to several causes. e.g., change of fibers, curvature in the circumferential direction, subtended angle, aspect, etc. Parametric studies were conducted to determine the effect of factors on the large deflection behavior of laminated shells, with interesting observations.
