Effects of Dietary Lactobacillus brevis Supplementation on Growth Performance, Dry Matter and Nitrogen Digestibilities, Blood Cell Counts and Fecal Odor Emission Compounds in Growing Pigs (육성돈사료에 Lactobacillus brevis의 첨가가 성산성, 건물과 질소 소화율, 혈구수 및 분 내 악취 발생 물질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary Lactobacillus brevis (3.4×108 CFU/g) supplementation on growth performance, DM and N digestibilities, blood cell counts and fecal odor emission compounds in growing pigs. Ninety six crossbred [(Landrace×Yorkshire)×Duroc] pigs with an initial BW of 24.60±1.28kg were used for 42-d feeding trial according to a completely randomized design. Three corn- soybean meal based dietary treatments included: 1) CON (basal diet); 2) LB1 (basal diet + Lactobacillus brevis 0.2%) and 3) LB2 (basal diet+Lactobacillus brevis 0.4%). There were three dietary treatments with eight replicate pens per treatment and four pigs per pen. Through the entire experimental period, ADG, ADFI and gain/feed had no significant differences among treatments(P>0.05). Nitrogen digestibility was increased in LB1 and LB2 treatments compared to CON treatment (linear effect, P<0.05), however, DM digestibility had no significant difference among all the treatments (P>0.05). The WBC, RBC and lymphocyte concentrations in whole blood were not affected by treatments (P>0.05). Fecal NH3N and H2S concentrations were significant decreased in LB2 treatment compared to CON treatment (linear effect, P<0.05). Fecal VFA (acetic acid and propionic acid) concentration was also reduced in LB2 treatment compared to CON treatment (linear effect, P<0.05). In conclusion, Lactobacillus brevis (3.4×108 CFU/g) supplementation at the level of 0.4% can improve nitrogen digestibility and decrease the concentrations of fecal odor emission compounds in growing pigs.

Impact of Feeding Multiple Probiotics on Performance and Intestinal Microflora in Broiler Chicks (혼합 미생물제의 수준별 급여가 육계의 생산성 및 장내 미생물에 미치는 영향)

  • Feeding probiotics in broiler chicks still critical in several aspects. Thus, this study was conducted to investigate the impact of feeding multiple probiotics on performance, intestinal microflora, blood cholesterol and ND antibody vaccine titer in broiler chicks. Three hundred twenty one day old male broiler chicks(cobb ${\times}$ cobb) were divided into four levels of multiple probiotics(0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3%) with five replicates for 35 days. Basal diets contained 21.5, 19.0% CP and 3,100 kcal/kg ME for starting and finishing period, respectively. Weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion were measured weekly. The number of Salmonella, E. coli, Lactobacillus, and yeast were examined from ileum and cecum at the end of experiment. ND vaccine titer, cholesterol were detected from sera. Weight gain of birds fed probiotics were 669.33, 679.75 at the level of 0.1 and 0.2% supplemental groups for starting period. It was also improved in those treatments for finishing period and higher than control for total period. Feed conversion tended to be improved compared to that of control by the supplementation of probiotics for the first three weeks and seemed to show the similar tendency for the rest of two weeks. It was 1.611, 1.621 for the entire feeding period and improved compared with control. Total salmonella, was not decreased in ileal digesta of birds fed the probiotics compared with control, whereas the number of yeast increased in 0.1% treatment. However, the number of Lactobacillus and yeast in cecum was higher than control. Even though the blood cholesterol seem to high in 0.1% probiotics treatment, the ratio of HDL to total cholesterol showed higher than control. ND vaccine titer of birds fed probiotics were significantly higher than control (P<0.05). These results 0.1% multiple probiotics would be possible to improve the performance of broiler chicks and ND vaccine titer.

  • 그 동안 양계사업의 양적 질적 발전과 함께 생산성 향상과 질병 치료의 목적으로 항생제제가 광범위하게 사용되어왔으나, 항생제의 양계산물내 잔류와 항생제 내성균주의 출현 등 우려스러운 문제들이 최근 대두되고 있으므로 전세계적으로 항생제 사용에 대한 규제가 강화되고, 대안으로서 항생제 이외의 성장촉진제, 면역강화제, 환경개선제 등이 주목을 받고 있다. 우리나라에서도 2005년부터 산란계 사료에 파리유충 구제 약제(싸이 로마진) 첨가가 금지되고 그간 사용이 가능했던 몇 안되는 항생제 마저 일부가 사용이 금지됨으로 인해 농장에서는 대안 찾기에 부심하고 있는 실정이다. 본고에서는 항생제 사용의 대안으로서 생균제를 이용한 양계 사양관리 개선 방안을 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다.

Feeding Value of Spent Mushroom (Pleurotus eryngii) Substrate (새송이버섯 수확후배지의 사료적 가치)

  • Spent mushroom substrates is composted organic material remaining after a crop of mushroom is harvested. The raw materials of mushroom substrates are same feed ingredient as corncobs, rice brown, wheat brown, cotton seeds and beet pulp. During the mushroom cultivation process, the mushroom substrates was used 15-25% by mushroom and 75-85% of mushroom substrates was remained in the SMS. Among of the spent mushroom substrates, spent mushroom substrates of pleurotus eryngii, Pleurotus ostreatus and Flammuliua velutipes is can be use the energy feedstock of animal feed. The cellulose content of spent mushroom(pleurotus eryngii) substrates containing the sawdust was high and total digestible nutrients (TDN) values was low. The spent mushroom(pleurotus eryngii) substrates fermented with cellulase and xylanase producing bacteria is may be used as an ingredient of feed in TMR for Hanwoo steer.

Effects of Single or Mixed Feeding of Lactobacillus and Yeast on Performance, Nutrient Digestibility, Intestinal Microflora, and Fecal NH$_{3}$ Gas Emission in Laying Hens (유산균과 효모의 단독 및 혼합 급여가 산란계의 생산성, 영양소 소화율, 장내미생물 변화 및 분의 암모니아 발생량에 미치는 영향)

  • Total 240 of ISA Brown layers were employed in this experiment to study the effects of single or mixed feeding of Lactobacillus and yeast on the performance and intestinal microflora of laying hens. They were randomly allocated to six dietary treatments; None(Control), Pichia farinosa(PF), Lactobacillus crispatus avihen1 (LCH), Lactobacillus vaginalis avihen1(LVH), LCH+PF, and LVH+PF. Viable microflora were added to meet 3${\times}$10$\^$6/ cfu PF and 10$\^$7/ cfu Lacrobacillus per g of feed. There were four replicates per treatment, and 10 birds per replicates. Laying performance was recorded for 10 weeks, followed by a metabolism trial during which nutrient utilization, pattern of intestinal microflora and fecal NH$\sub$3/ emission were examined. Egg production and daily egg mass of birds fed either single or mixed microorganisms were significantly higher than those of the control(P<0.05). Egg weight and feed intake were not statistically different among all treatments. However, feed conversion ratio tended to improve by the supplementation of microbes. Digestibility of crude protein, ether extract and crude ash tended to improve in Lactobacillus treatments, however, there were not statistically different. With regards to the number of intestinal microbes, number of anaerobes were increased in microbes feeding group. Eggshell quality of PF layers was significantly poorer than those of the other treatments. No consistent trend was found in Haugh Unit among all treatments. Fecal NH$\sub$3/ gas emission was significantly lower in LVH, LVH+PF and LCH+PF than the other treatments(P<0.05). From the result of this experiment, it could be concluded that single or mixed feeding of Lactobacillus and yeast improves the laying performance and decreases the fecal ammonia gas emission. No synergic effect was found when both microbes were mixed and fed to the layers.

사료내 아마종실과 사료첨가물질의 조합첨가가 난황내 지방산 함량과 산란능력에 미치는 영향

  • To evaluate the effect of combined supplementation of both flaxseed and micro additives on fatty acid incoporation in egg yolk, totally 240 of ISA Brown laying hen were alloted into 4 treatments with 3 replication per treatment by completely randomized design. 10% of ground flaxseed was added to the experimental diets of treatment group except control diet. Supplemented micro additives used in this experiments were Vit. A + carnitine for treatment 1, Vit. E + selenium for treatment 2, and probiotics + lecithin for treatment 3. Egg production in flaxseed + Vit. E and selenium supplemented group was lower than those of other treatments. There were no differences in egg weight, feed intake, and feed/egg among treatments. The $\omega$-3 fatty acid content in egg yolk was affacted by flaxseed supplementation with no detection in control group. Especially, The $\omega$-3(Cl8 :3n3) fatty acid content of egg yolk in probiotics and lecithin supplemented group was higher(P〈0.05) than other flaxseed supplemented groups.

Effects of Dietary Supplement of Probiotics on Growth and Blood Assay of Rockfish Sebastes schlegeli (생균제 첨가사료가 조피볼락 Sebastes schlegeli의 성장 및 혈액성분에 미치는 영향)

  • We determined the effects of dietary supplements for lactic acid bacteria(LAB) such as Lactobacillus brevis(Lb) and Lactobacillus plantarum(Lp) in juvenile rockfish Sebastes schlegeli cultured in flow-through system for 10 weeks. The experimental diets contained $10^4cfu/g,\;10^6cfu/g\;and\;10^8cfu/g$ level each LAB(Lb-4, Lb-6, Lb-8 or Lp-4, Lp-6, Lp-8), respectively. The effects of LAB supplementation was determined by various factor such as weight gain(WG), specific growth rate(SGR), feeding efficiency(FE) and blood assay. For rearing experiment, Lp-8 treatment had significantly high growth rate than control diet treatment. However, all Lb treatment had no significance effect with control diet treatment. In case of the blood assay, hematocrit(Ht) and hemoglobin(Hb) of fish were not affected by LAB supplemental levels. On the other hand, total cholesterol in plasma of Lb-8, Lp-6 and Lp-8 treatments were significantly low than the control diet treatment. We verified the influence of LAB which was originated from species specificity and amount in diet. Consequently, the dietary supplementation as $10^8cfu/g$ level of L. plantarum could be of help for growth enhancement to the juvenile rockfish.

Influence of Nutrient Addition in the Liquid Yeast Fermentation of Pulverized Food Wastes (남은 음식물의 습식효모배양에서 영양물질첨가가 효모증식에 미치는 영향)

  • For the production of probiotic feed enriched with viable yeasts, aerobic liquid culture of Kluyveromyces marxianus was attempted in pulverized residual food wastes. After the preliminary shaking culture result, the liquid food wastes was added with urea($0.5g/{\ell}$), o-phosphate($0.4g/{\ell}$ ), molasses($4g/{\ell}$), and yeast extract($1g/{\ell}$), and the fermentation was carried out in 2-litre jar fermenter. In 12 hours of aerobic mixed culture with Aspersillus oryzae, viable cell count of the yeast reached to the number of $1.4{\times}10^{10}/{\ell}$ in the cultured medium.
