Security Association and Testbed Implementation for Separated Business and Organizational Networks (업무망/기관망의 보안 연결 방안 연구 및 테스트베드 구축)

  • As IT industry using networks have been developed explosively, online operations that were conducted in offline are increasing rapidly, and even relationship with other people made online. As online crimes are increasing accordingly, building security networks is getting very important. As a result, network separation between business and organization network has been performed recently, but this causes network user inconvenience and efficiency reduction. In this paper, we propose reassociation methods for already separated networks for many public organizations. We implement two reassociation methods using NAT device and shared storage and show their experimental results.

  • Powerline communications (PLC) is a promising medium for network access technology where smart grid aided network services can be provided. In the presence of frequency selective fading in the PLC channel, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a technique for reliable communications. This paper presents a spectral efficient method using a superimposed hidden pilot for OFDM-based PLC systems. Based on the scheme using a hidden pilot, it is possible to estimate the channel with no consumption of bandwidth, but with utilization of power allocated to the hidden pilot. Computer simulations showed that the proposed scheme provides higher achievable data rate than that of the conventional schemes in low voltage and medium voltage transmission lines.

  • The goal of Medical multimedia server is to develop computer hardware and software which would enable electronic access, storage, transmission, and display of patient data and images. Since the current network only provides so called "best-effort" services, it is impossible to satisfy QoS guarantee that is required for real time application services for emergency room, operating room etc. Accordingly, world-wide research is being made for a variety of services to provide QoS. he goal of DiffServ is to offer scalable differentiated service in Internet which are made possible by traffic classification and conditioning only performed at an edge(or a boundary) node. In case DiffServ was deployed in the Medical multimedia network, it is difficult to estimate how the QoS mechanism would affect totally the network performance. Therefore, we need to verify by simulation the design of algorithm which provide a variety of differentiated services. In QoS for Medical multimedia network, a simulator is designed and implemented using OPNET to investigate the performance of DiffServ QoS support mechanism. The developed DiffServ simulator may generate packets according to random, and bursty traffic models in order to incorporate diverse traffic conditions in the Medical multimedia network environment. Based on our simulation results, we confirmed that service differentiation is possible by using the EF(Expedited Forwarding) class in DiffServ networks.

  • We introduce the concept of a remote distributed embedded system to integrated fieldbus based control systems in internet/Intranet. As a result, fieldbus systems are opened up for remote monitoring, remote maintenance, and remote control applications using state of the art Web-technology. This paper addresses the design of a remote distributed embedded system using Internet and CAN for multi-induction motor of Building and Industrial field. The fieldbus used the CAN based networked intelligent multi-motor control system using DSP2812 microprocessor. To build a remote distributed embedded system, the TCP/IP-CAN Gateway which converts a CAN protocol to TCP/IP protocol and vice verse, was designed. A experimental simulation system consists of a TCP/IP-CAN gateway in remote place and a command PC to be connected to Ethernet.

  • This paper presents a new scheme of neural network controller to improve to improve the robustuous of robot manipulator using digital signal processors. Digital processors, DSPs, are micro-processors that are particularly developed for fast numerical computations involving sums and products of variables. Digital version of most advanced control algorithms can be defined as sums and producrs of measured variables, thus it can be programmed and executed through DSPs. In addition, DSPs are as fist in computation as most 32-bit micro-processors and yet at a fraction of their prices. These features make DSPs a viable computational tool in digital implementation of sophisticated controllers. During past decade it was proposed the well-established theorys for the adaptive control of linear systems, but there exits relativly little gensral theoral for the adaptive control of nonlinear systems. Perforating of the proposed controller is illustrated. This paper describes a new approach to the design of adaptive controller and implementation of real-time control for assembling robotic manipulator using digital signal processor.   • As automation systems become intelligent and autonomous for productibility, industrial networks (fieldbuses) and network-based devices are essential components of intelligent manufacturing systems. However, there are obstacles for the wide acceptance of the network-based devices such as smart sensor and network-based actuator. First, there exist numerous fieldbus protocols that a network-based device should be able to support. Second, the whole network-based device has to be replaced when only the sensor of the module fails. In order to overcome these obstacles, a smart sensor/actuator is implemented as two units; one responsible for network communication and the other for sensor/actuator operations using IEEE 1451.0 standard. This paper presents a structure of the 1451.0-based smart sensor with multiple connectivity function designed by CANopen.

  • ATM Form has defined the guaranteed frame rate (GFR) service to provide minimum cell rate (MCR) guarantees for TCP traffic in ATM networks and allow it to fairly share residual bandwidth. GFR switch implementation consists of the frame-based generic cell rate algorithm (F-GCRA) and a frame forwarding mechanism. The F-GCRA identifies frames that are eligible for an MCR guarantee. The frame forwarding mechanism buffers cells at a frame unit according to information provided by the F-GCRA and forwards the buffered cells to an output port according to its scheduling discipline. A simple GFR mechanism with shared buffer with a global threshold is a feasible implementation mechanism, but has been known that it is insufficient to guarantee the MCR. This paper has estimated performance of GFR service for TCP traffic over ATM switches with the simple FIFO-based mechanism

  • Some evolutional system has been used to promote the efficiency of the DNC(Direct Numerical Control) Controller. However, these are many inconvenience to this operator because it lacks harmony in interaction between the computer and the NC(Numerical Control) Controller. Also, there are some controversial points when data error occurs at the Data Input/Output. Accordingly, this paper explores a new Data Remote Control System. In this study, the NC Controller of the DNC network has to get full data by removing data error in this system. In this system, the main merits are easy manufacturing and the convenience of Data Input/Output. That is, remote control of the NC machine tool is possible without mutual interaction between the computer and itself.

  • 프로세스의 우선순위는 임베디드 시스템에서 수행되는 여러 가지 작업들의 중요도 또는 작업마감 시간의 임박성에 따라 결정되기 때문에 프로세스의 입출력 작업 시에도 반영되어야 한다. 하지만 많은 임베디드 운영체제들은 기존의 범용 운영체제를 기반으로 설계되었기 때문에 입출력 작업 시 프로세스의 운선순위를 반영하지 못하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서 새로운 통신 프로토콜 스택 구조를 제안하고 이를 임베디드 리눅스에 구현한다. 또한 본 논문은 이더넷이 산업용 기기 등의 연결에 활용될 수 있음에 주목하고 독립 이더넷 네트워크에 적합한 전송 프로토콜을 제안한다. 측정 결과 제안된 프로토콜 스택 RTDiP($\underline{R}eal-\underline{T}ime\;\underline{Di}rect\;\underline{P}rotocol$)은 UDP/IP와 비교하여 단방향 통신 지연시간을 최대 59% 감소시켰으며 통신처리율을 최대 155% 향상시킬 수 있음을 보인다. 또한 낮은 우선순위를 갖는 배경 통신 프로세스에 의해서 UDP/IP는 532%가 단방향 통신 지연시간이 증가하나, RTDiP은 2% 미만의 증가만을 보임으로써 프로세스의 우선순위에 따라 패킷 처리가 이루어지고 이를 통해서 실시간 통신을 지원해줄 수 있음을 보인다.

  • Since nuclear power plants (NPPs) increasingly employ digital I&C systems, reliability evaluation for NPP software has become crucial for NPP probabilistic risk assessment. Several methods for estimating software reliability have been proposed, but there is no available tool support for those methods. To support NPP software manufacturers, we propose a reliability measurement tool for NPP software. We designed our tool to provide reliability estimation depending on available qualitative and quantitative information that users can offer. We applied the proposed tool to an industrial reactor protection system to evaluate the functionality of this tool. This tool can considerably facilitate the reliability assessment of NPP software.
