An Analysis of K-POP Stars' Images in Chinese Social Medias (중국 소셜 미디어에 나타난 K-POP 스타들의 사진 이미지 분석)

  • The main purpose of this study was to investigate K-pop stars' images in photos presented by social networks in China. In this study photos of K-pop stars were collected from a community site of Baidu as one of the biggest portal sites and were five idol groups (EXO, IKON, T-ara, Wonder Girls, and Girls' Generation) which have beeb getting famous in China. For this musical styles and backgrounds of the K-pop idol stars were scrutinized in brief and explored in respect with its images. The results of the study were follows: First, the overall pictorial images of K-pop boys' groups were characterized in masculine and stylish images emphasizing the western appearance. In case of K-pop girl groups, sexy, gorgeous, feminine and youthful images were identified. In conclusion, K-pop idol stars is contributing to expand Korean pop arts into Chinese public culture as Chinese people produced and circulated the pictorial images of K-pop stars and facilitated consumption activities of K-pop contents.

Gazing on Photographic Image (사진이미지를 향한 응시)

  • Reading a photograph is a process of perceiving the image in it. We are able to approach the intention of the photographer only from the sensory material of the image. To make sure how we see the image when we look at a photo, this paper did an experiment with Robert Doisneau's photo, 'Un Regard Oblique'. The hypothesis was set upon the idea of Mary Ann Doane, a pioneer in Gender study. Eye-tracker, Tobii was used to measure the movements and the fixation lengths of the pupils of 44 subjects. From the results of the experiment, it was verified that people look at photographic image in a certain way. At the same time, the gazing strength was differential on every subjects and subject groups.

  • The affective words on photographic images were analyzed and a model was structured. Based on this model, the effects of color on the affections were studied. In study 1, the photographic images with various materials and techniques were presented and the affective responses are collected. The factor analysis using principal axing method showed that the variance of the affective words could be explained about 42% by the three factors. These are named positive-negative, dynamic-static, light-heavy, respectively. In study 2, the effects of color on the affections were evaluated on three basic dimensions. Ninety representative color images were converged black-and-white images, and each of 180 images was rated on the three affective scales. The t-test showed that the effects of color are statistically significant on the three affective scales, respectively. The achromatic images were felt more negative, more static, and heavier than chromatic images.

  • 사진에는 의도하지 않은 노이즈나 찍는 과정 중에 발생한 실수나 문제로 원치 않게 가려진 부분이 있을 수 있는데, 이미지 완성 어플리케이션은 사용자가 전문적인 프로그램이나 전문가의 도움 없이 노이즈나 가려진 부분을 제거할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 논문에서는 GAN(Generative Adversial Network) 모델에 노이즈가 있는 사진을 입력으로 넣어 노이즈가 제거 된 사진을 생성하도록 하였고, 생성 된 사진과 기존 이미지가 자연스럽게 합성 될 수 있도록 보정을 하여 완성 된 이미지를 출력하는 어플리케이션을 제안한다. GAN 분류 모델의 시그모이드 교차-엔트로피와 생성이미지와 원본이미지간의 평균 제곱 오차를 함께 최소화 하도록 생성 모델을 학습시켰고, 낮은 평균 제곱 오차를 가지는 완성 이미지를 생성 할 수 있었다. 이미지 보정을 통해 생성 된 이미지와 입력 이미지와의 밝기 차이를 해소시켜 좀 더 자연스러운 완성 이미지 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

A Study on the Photograph Management at the University Archives - The Case of the Pusan National University Library - (대학 아카이브즈의 사진자료 관리에 관한 연구 - 부산대학교 도서관의 사례를 중심으로 -)

  • In comparison with conventional types of documents, photographs present special problems in the management of any archives because of their physical properties and the nature and format of their informational content This paper is case study for the effective photographs management at the university archives. At first, sort out photographic images in the university publications, draw up work sheet by the bibliographic information of the photographic images and construct a bibliographic database based on the work sheet. Secondly, the photographic images is linked with bibliographic database. In result, users can confirm immediately photographic images on the screen by searching OPAC. This paper concludes with a problem and improvement of the photograph database at the university archives.

  • 본 연구는 제작된 OLED 소자에 UV의 조사시간에 따른 PL intensity 의 감소와 UV power에 따른 PL degradation 변화에 따라 적절한 UV의 조사조건을 찾아 OLEO 소자의 사진이미지를 구현하고자 하였다. 이러한 조건들로부터 얻어진 OLED 소자의 사진이미지 구현을 통하여 그동안 문제점으로만 여겨졌던 UV에 의한 PL degradation 현상이 문제점만이 아닌 다른 하나의 장점으로 발전되어 다른 분야에서 적용될 수 있다고 기대해본다.

  • 우리가 사용하는 이미지뷰어프로그램은 정보전달에만 치중되어 있고 감성적인 부분이 차지하는 바가 적다. 또한 사람들에게 디지털카메라로 찍은 사진들을 보는 것은 많은 과정을 필요로 하고 큰 노력을 요한다. 게다가 다른 사용자들과 즉각적으로 공유하기도 힘들다. 이 같은 문제점들을 해결하는 새로운 이미지뷰어인터페이스를 제안해본다. 기존의 이미지뷰어프로그램들을 분석하고 그에 대한 결과와 문제점을 찾은 후 새로운 디자인 키워드를 제시하였다. 단순함(Simplicity), 즉각성(Instancy), 공유(Sharing), 감성(Sensitivity) 이렇게 네 가지 키워드이다. 사진(Picture)은 이미 지나간 과거이다. 이러한 사진의 시간개념을 Timeline 에 적용하고, 이를 원(Circle)이라는 모양으로 나타내어 사진을 볼 수 있게 하였다. 원이라는 새로운 형태의 인터페이스는 사진을 보다 쉽고 즉각적으로 공유할 수 있다. 데모버젼으로서 매크로미디어 플래시 액션스크립트로 프로그램을 하고 파워메이트(Powermate)를 장치(Device)로 사용하여 시연하였다. 이 인터페이스는 사람들이 쉽게 접할 수 있는 장소면 아무 곳이나 설치가 가능하다. 카페나 회의장소에서 가장 적합하게 어울릴 것이다. 사용자는 다른 이들과 함께 즉각적으로 간단한 방법으로 함께 감성을 나눌 수 있다. 새로운 인터페이스디자인이 사람들에게 쉽게 인지되어, 보다 편리하게 이미지를 확인할 수 있는 가능성을 제시한다.

A Study on Ontology of Digital Photo Image Focused on a Simulacre Concept of Deleuze & Baudrillard (디지털 사진 이미지의 존재론에 관한 연구 -들뢰즈와 보드리야르의 시뮬라크르 개념을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this thesis is to examine ontology of digital photo image based on a Simulacre concept of Gilles Deleuze & Jean Baudrillard. Traditionally, analog image follows the logic of reproduction with a similarity with original target. Therefore, visual reality of analog image is illuminated, interpreted, and described in a subjective viewpoint, but does not deviate from the interpreted reality. However, digital image does not exist physically but exists as information that is made of mathematical data, a digital algorithm. This digital image is that newness of every reproduction, that is, essence of subject 'once existing there' does not exist anymore, and does not instruct or reproduce an outside target. Therefore, digital image does not have the similarity and does not keep the index instruction ability anymore. It means that this digital image is converted into a virtual area, and this is not reproduction of already existing but display of not existing yet. This not-being of digital image changes understanding of reality, existence, and imagination. Now, dividing it into reality and imagination itself is meaningless, and this does not make digital image with technical improvement but is a new image that is basically completely different from existing image. Eventually, digital image of the day passes step to visualize an existent target, nonexistent things have been visualized, and reality operates virtually. It means that digital image does not reproduce our reality but reproduces other reality realistically. In other words, it is a virtual reproduction producing an image that is not related to a target, that is to say Simulacre. In the virtually simulated world, reality has an infinite possibility, and it is not a picture of the past and present and has a possibility as the infinite virtual that is not fixed, is infinitely mutable, and is not actualized yet.

  • At the recent 19th General Election, Korean papers waged a surrogate war for the parties they share ideology with. All the conventional practices remained the same - the horse race-like presentations, furthering of confrontations, disregarding policy issues, allocating larger space for commentaries and negative issues, and etc. On top of these, papers began to focus on generational conflicts and individuals at the center of widespread attention and controversies, as a new trend. Photo images are largely used in the commentaries and articles dealing with confrontational or controversial situations. Of course, while the visual images seem to reinforce the emotional appeal of the messages papers try to get across, the potential problems need be noticed that could rise when irrelevant images are used.
