  • The Noh(能) performance is a traditional drama that represents Japan. The Noh performance was approved in the background of religious thought such as Shintoism(神道), Buddhisms(佛敎), and Syugendo(修驗道). Especially, the influence from Shugendo is large. Shugendo was active in the Middle Ages. Especially, the influence from Shugendo is large. Shugendo was active in the Middle Ages. The Noh was approved while receiving a large influence from Shugendo. It can know the feature of the Shugen(修驗) culture in the Middle Ages through the consideration of . Moreover, the appearance of the training of 'Yamabusi(山伏)' can be seen. "Yamabusi" has not been paid to attention up to now in the research of . And, the focus was appropriated to Yamabusi and it researched in this text. Moreover, the problem of "Chigo(稚子)" is thought through . "Chigo culture" was general in the Middle Ages. It is thought that "Chigo culture" is reflected in . is an Noh performance for the boy named 'Wakamatsu' to enter the mountain and to train. It is because mother's sickness was cured. However, the boy gets sick while it is training. It was dropped to the valley according to the law of Shugendo, and it died. However, it revives by the Yamabusi's prayers. 'Taniko' is to drop to the valley and to bury it when the Yamabusi gets sick while lived. The title of the Noh originated in here. has elements of history, content of training of Shugendo, "Filial piety", and the Chigo culture, etc. These are features of the culture in the Middle Ages. It is not only a sad content though this is a content of the cruel remainder. It is because of the revival though waited rapidly at the end. As for the difficulty of training is drawn in the round, and the appearance of the training at that time is understood well. The essence of Shugendo is to train in the mountain. Supernatural power can be obtained through training. Moreover, it was thought that it was able to be newly reborn through training. The leading part of Shugendo is an Yamabusi. The Yamabusi took an active part in not only the mountain but also the village. The Yamabusi is ordinary people's lives and because the relation is deep, an important factor it knows the folk customs of Japan. The word 'Chigo' is not written in . However, a spectator at that time is 'Chigo' Wakamatsu and is already sure to have understood 'Chigo'. Because everyone knew the Chigo culture in the Middle Ages. A religion at that time and knowledge of the society are necessary to understand the play of Nho well.

  • The Reform Movement(戊戌變法) of 1898 was a boundary tablet of modern history of science and technology which inherited the past and ushered in the future. Kang Youwei(康有爲), as a leader, his scientific thoughts opened up the way of Chinese enlightenity campaign and pushed the development of Chinese modem science and had an important position in modem history of scientific thoughts. The dissertation analyses the source, establishment and content of Kang Youwei. Kang Youwei developed the useful and discarded the useless of the view of implement science held by the Westernized Party, undertook a deep and throughout thinking on the nature of science, had cognition of scientific methods and spirit, by which he criticized negative proneness of ancient Chinese views of science. He put forwards a series of practical suggestions on political reform that provided a solid guarantee and support in system for scientific development. Kang Youwei rooted in the soil of Chinese traditional academic culture, but also western learning in modern western civilization. Kang go through Westernization Movement since the in-depth study of Western natural and inevitable outcome of the social sciences, are giving to science and technology. Although he was originally of Western "science" has a lot of misunderstandings and prejudices, but these shallow hazy perceptual knowledge, his view of science which constitutes the basis of the formation. In the course of scientific inquiry, Kang has begun to explore the essence of scientific development. He has a gut feeling that behind the scientific discovery of the existence of a force, which is the scientific truth and is used to grasp the scientific method. After contact with the Western world, with the traditional "Heaven(天)", and modern Chinese intellectuals began to "axiom(公理)" to recover his traditional "Heaven" of the new understanding is reflected mainly in "Zhutianjiang(諸天講)". "Zhutianjiang" is the Kang Yuwei in the absorption of traditional astronomy knowledge base, will the traditional arithmetic, as well as Buddhism and the West since the twentieth century, new knowledge of astronomy combines written. Kang while recognizing that scientific instruments, is nothing more than an extension of the role of the human senses and make the "Dao(道)" is more clear, but the "artifacts(器物)" caused by the inherent limitations of the limited nature of human knowledge, which is "Heaven" boundless nature of the broad terms, refused to concede defeat to.   • The purpose of the study is to understand the symbolic meaning of jewelry. Among various characteristics of symbols, the symbolic meaning represents the correlation between meanings. Wearing jewelry is an instinctive action that can be witnessed from ancient civilizations. Man used jewelry for various purposes, as an ornament, an amulet, a symbol of wealth or power or as a token of love. In this study, I have researched the symbolic meaning of jewelry in its historic background focusing on rings that show the strongest symbolic characteristic among jewelries. Whereas the symbolic meaning of jewelry was strongly accentuated in the ancient and medieval times, it was gradually weakened in the modern time. Also, while jewelry in the ancient and medieval times showed commonness and universality, jewelry in modern time expressed individuality. Although the meaning of jewelry changed progressively by interacting with the external environment, jewelry has always roused sense and symbolism from our hearts and has acted as a means to express ideas and emotions of human beings.

  • The modeling analysis for objects placed in a given space can be described objectively when their visual image structure is grasped. It can't be answered without first analyzing the basic program, visual expression. And when the whole aspect of the visual image of the desired interior utensils is presented, the mindset of its designer can be deduced from that. Therefore, the study was based on the lemon juice squeezer, one of the interior kitchen utensils that Philippe Starck designed for Italy ALESSI company. For the study method, putting'The Elements of Dynamic Symmetry' by Prof. Jay Hambidge into practice, 'paradigm' analysis containing the whole'lemon juice squeezer'image was attempted. And to describe it, the visual mark description method by Prof. Bok-Young Kim was used. In conclusion, henceforth, the relationship between interior space and articles, the relationship between object and user, the modeling critique or analysis of the production itself shoud not be intended to be emotional. On the contrary, the study presented an art analyic methodology that can analyze and describe the visual image structure numerically, and confirm the relationship between form and content.

  • 밖으로는 코펜하겐 사회개발(社會開發) 정상회의를 계기로, 안으로는 국민기대수준(國民期待水準)의 제고와 고도성장의 부작용(副作用)에 대한 성찰을 배경으로 신복지구상(新福祉構想)이 제기된 바 있다. 이는 인간성(人間性) 회복을 근간으로 한국 실정에 어울리는 생산적(生産的) 공동체적(共同體的) 복지정책(福祉政策)을 추진함으로써 국민생활의 안정에 우선을 두겠다는 정책의지의 결집이라고 요약된다. 신복지구상(新福祉構想)은 우리에게 발상의 전환과 새로운 패러다임의 제시를 요구하고 있다. 우리 국민은 고도성장(高度成長)의 부작용(副作用)으로 생활을 둘러싸고 있는 경제 사회적 환경이 열악하게 되어 안정적인 삶을 위협받고 있다. 특히 물질적(物質的)인 삶의 풍부함과 더불어 황금만능사상(黃金萬能思想)이 만연하여 인간경시경향(人間輕視傾向)이 두드러지고 있어 국민들은 안전하고 안정된 생활여건(生活與件)의 조성을 갈구하고 있는 것으로 풀이된다. 지금이야말로 대내외적(對內外的) 환경변화에 발맞추어 성장잠재력(成長潛在力) 확충을 지지하면서 계속적인 산업화(産業化)가 발생시킬 사회적(社會的) 비용(費用)을 줄일 수 있도록 적절한 복지정책(福祉政策) 대안(代案)의 개발이 요청되고 있다고 하겠다. 복지정책의 중점은 국민요구를 반영하여 삶의 질(質)향상을 위한 생활복지(生活福祉)로 모아져야 할 것이다. 대부분의 국민이 문화(文化)가 있고 건강(健康)하며 안정(安定)된 생활을 희구하고 있음에 비추어, 일상생활 속에서 복지증진을 체감(體感)할 수 있도록 지역사회를 단위로 특색 있는 정책이 전개되어야 할 것이다. 앞으로의 사회복지정책(社會福祉政策)은 전통적(傳統的) 사회보장제도(社會保障制度)와 서구적(西歐的) 사회보장제도(社會保障制度)의 조화, 경제성장과 사회복지의 균형, 정부, 민간 그리고 지역사회의 공조(共助)를 요구하고 있으며, 이와 관련하여 일본(日本)과 대만(臺灣)의 경험이 시사하는 것처럼 장기적인 시각(視角)에서 꾸준히 일관성 있게 공적지출(公的支出)을 늘려나가는 것이 중요하다고 판단된다. 그리하여 민간의 자발적(自發的) 참여를 유도함으로써 국민 모두의 삶의 질(質) 향상에 기여할 수 있을 것이며 결국 인간성(人間性) 고양을 통하여 국민화합이 달성될 수 있을 것이다.

A Study on The Principles and Philosophical Basis of 'Sa Sang Medicine' (사상의학(四象醫學)의 원리(原理)와 철학적(哲學的) 배경(背景)에 대(對)한 고찰(考察))

  • In this study, the author researched the process in which the philosophical basis of 'Sa Sang Medicine (四象醫學)' and its methodology build up the principles of Sa Sang Medicine, and then, examined how the principles were applied to the theoretical system of Sa Sang Medicine. The conclusion would be summarized as follows. 1. 'Nae Kyung Medicine (內經醫學)' was developed under the concept that the cosmos's order and its moving rule could be directly applied to that of human body, which corresponded to the 'Theory of Hwang-No (黃老之學)'. On the contrary, Sa Sang Medicine is a thoroughly human-oriented theory formed in the Confucianism system. 2. Lee Jae-Ma's Substantialism can be briefed into 'Mind 心' (Tae Keuk 太極), 'Mind-Body 心身' (Yang Eui 兩儀) and 'Activity-Mind-Body-Matter 事心身物' (Sa Sang 四象), which respectively represents one-elemented substance, two-elemented substance and four-elemented substance. Especially, Sa Sang was used as a basic framework in which he recognized all the objects and phenomena. So, most critical significance of his substantialism consists in the intention of Sa Sang type classifying. 3. By the method of Sa Sang type classifying, Lee Jae-Ma not only redefined the main concepts of confucianism and developed a unique philosophy of his own, but also, in the field of medical science, resystemized and re-explained the structure and function of human body. 4. From the recognition that Activity-Mind-body-Matter (Sa Sang) are four different existence forms of energy 氣 (or four variation types of energy), Yi Jae-Ma thinks that the viscera of human body have a vertical structure of 'four parts 四焦' (upper, mid-upper, mid-lower and lower parts) and its physiological function is operated by the rising and falling action of four energy presentations (sorrow 哀, anger 怒, joy 喜 and pleasure 樂). 5. In "Gyuk Chi Go 格致藁", Lee Jae-Ma understood the concept of joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure on the basis of nature-emotion theory 性情論 from the philosophical viewpoint. But, from the medical viewpoint of "Dong Eui Su Se Bo Won 東醫壽世保元", he understood them on the basis of vital energy theory. That is, sorrow, anger, joy and pleasure are expression of advance or reverse of nature vital-energy 性氣 and emotion vital-energy 情氣. 6. The rising and falling action principle of four energy presentations (sorrow, anger, joy and pleasure) which produces and helps each other is an identical principles of Sa Sang Medicine, distinguished from the Oh-Haeng 五行 circulating principle in Nae Kyung Medicine. Through this principle, Lee Jae-Ma explained the viscera physiology of human body, pathology & diagnosis and pharmacology.

  • Baseball was first introduced in Korea by American Gillette, who was the general manager of the YMCA in the late Joseon Dynasty. There are many discussions about the timing of the first baseball game in Korea, but it has yet to be sorted out. But what is certain is that baseball was introduced directly from the after 1903, when the first Korea YMCA, the Hwang seong Christian Youth Association, was founded. Gillett studied at Springfield YMCA International Training School in the United States from 1900 to 1901. The school is where Gulick worked as a teacher, who actively embraced strong Christianity from Britain and laid the foundation for the YMCA project in the United States. Therefore, Gillett was influenced by this Muscular Christianity, and the reason behind the introduction of baseball in our country is the same Muscular Christianity idea. Gillett, the manager of the YMCA in Korea, has developed various sports projects in Korea based on this Manager idea. It also helped the Korean people, who have been under Japanese colonial rule since 1905, to strengthen their bodies and minds and It helped the independence movement of Koreans. These specific and practical examples are YMCA baseball team active and the 105-member incident.

An Ethic of Global Fiction: David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas and Min-gyu Park's Dinner with Buffett (21세기 소설과 윤리: 데이빗 미첼의 『클라우드 애틀라스』와 박민규의 『버핏과의 저녁식사』)

  • Beginning with ethical nature inherent in the novel, this paper argues that ethical responsibility of $21^{st}$ century global fiction lies in its invitation to readers to rethink the status quo in a globalized world. While David Mitchell's Cloud Atlas and Min-gyu Park's Dinner with Buffett use international settings, these works exemplify how global fiction fails at, or succeeds in, the ethical task of challenging the contemporary world, respectively. This is because Mitchell's 500-page novel, although a felicitous embodiment of globalization and hybridity, does not challenge dominant ideologies and instead ends up reproducing a conventional humanist ideology against the backdrop of exotic places and diverting literary pastiches. In contrast, Dinner with Buffett, a novella about a Korean average Joe who wins a charity meal with tycoon Warren Buffett, perplexes the reader with counterintuitive turns and, in doing so, uncovers what we believe to be common sense today that serves global capitalism.

  • This article is a study of Karl Marx's manifesto and the reform in donghak for the modality and their symbolism. As a text, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels' declaration on the Communist Alliance and the reform program of the peasant Donghak were choose. This Declaration and the Reformation are the works of philosophical practice discourse of the 1800s in this article, which unfolds paradigmatically, deriving its common symbolic meaning in the semiotic sense, and evolving ideologically towards a democracy free of property. In the end, these two historical incident which are published in the contemporary breath, constitute an accusation against a nonhuman policy of surveillance and punishment. Twice a day, the space of the church is transformed into a factory, the act of dividing into two categories by capitalist and work and divorcing by accident is embodied as a social ethic. It is against the phenomenon that the structure of which no man exists is no longer institutionalized. The revolutionary movement aimed at breaking the framework of this hunt manifests itself in the two manifestos mentioned above, and Karl Marx completes the culmination of the utopia that must be achieved through the Declaration of the Communist Alliance by placing his being in the position of "eternal refugee". By choosing to die in his freedom developed during Jeon Bong-joon's trial, he also completes the people's spirit of revolution. In the case of simultaneous exploitation in East and West, the form of oppression is the withdrawal of capital from domination and power, and a new alternative to this is the philosophical context that allows the establishment of a new paradigm with "man is the greatest capital".

  • The flower arrangement that human beings interact with the natural plants have characteristics according to their historical background and ethnicity and different aspects of culture related of the flower arrangements have been created by human inspiration and formative ability. The Korean flower arrangement is a product of civilization which originated in the natural environment of the four seasons. As background with the natural unity ideology, the Korean Flower Arrangement makes the life and philosophy of the naturalistic nature that flows in the mind of our nation to the relaxing beauty suited on cultures of ages by the Virtue, the Will, and the Vitality. The Literary Flower Arrangement is, based on the higher human personality and poetic sentiments as ideologies of our traditional oriental philosophy, the formative art made for aesthetic implications of philosophy by consisting plants' characters and tastes without expression of technical skills. In this study, focused on pine tree, in order to clarify that the flower arrangement of our spiritual culture is the Literary Flower Arrangement, make Identifying aesthetic characteristics through, the backgrounds and sources of being expressed by the Literary Flower Arrangement, poetic feelings, symbolism, metaphor, the formative form of flower arrangement, decoding of the flower arrangement genes, and the same time deduce the record of literary work and classify it each era, and establish the Literary Flower Arrangement theory which is the essence of Korean flower arrangement.
