  • The objectives of this research are: to provide fundamental data for tourism policy and investigate medical tourism attributes by IPA(Importance-Performance Analysis) to attract Japanese medical tourists to Korea. Utilizing Japanese medical tourists as subjects of inquiry, this study evaluated the importance of medical tourism selection attributes and the rate at which these attributes were performed. Consequently, this study deduced 'convenience, service quality, differentiation, approximation' factors by factor analysis as well as the ranking among each selection attributes using T-test. The importance-performance analysis showed 'Concentrate Here' in quadrant I, 'Keep up the Good Work' in quadrant II, 'Low Priority' in quadrant III and 'Possible Overkill' in quadrant IV. The results show that "Concentrate Here" part in quadrant I is reservation procedure rapidity and information system simplicity. This means that these attributes are very important but they indicate low performance. Thus, concentration among tourism managers should be focused along these attributes. The study, then, suggests that employee who speaks Japanese fluently should be arranged during reservation procedure. Furthermore, Japanese class should become mandatory during basic employee training to improve reservation procedure rapidity. Moreover, clinic websites should concentrate on accessibility of Japanese users in such a way that they can consult their needs on line. Finally, managers should find diverse ways to bring about good service rapidly and conveniently.

To do this, we analyzed 298 questionnaire data for university students and graduate students and the following conclusions were drawn through the ranking of importance, satisfaction, and the corresponding sample t-test and IPA matrix. First, as a result of examining the ranking through the average of the importance and satisfaction of the swimsuit brand image, the importance showed average 4.0 or more in order of 'quality', 'functionality', 'price', 'design', 'trust', 'color', and the satisfaction showed average 3.5 or more in order of 'trust', 'quality', 'functionality' and 'awareness'. Second, as a result of difference verification in swimsuit brand image, it showed a significant difference in order of 'quality', 'price', 'functionality', 'design', 'color', 'trust', 'sophistication'. On the other hand, it showed no significant difference of cognitive images. Third, as a result of IPA of swimsuit brand image, the factors of 'design', 'functional', 'quality' and 'trust' were included in I quadrant, 'price' 'color' in II quadrant, 'advertising image', 'event', 'popularity', 'originality' in III quadrant, and 'awareness', 'sophistication' in IV quadrant.

The subjects of this study were a total of 90 students enrolled in the 3rd year of the nursing department, who were subjected to Herrmann's BDI as a brain dominant thinking type test. The empathy test was conducted using the Interpersonal Response Index(IRI) adapted by Park(2004). For data analysis, Pearson correlation analysis and multivariate analysis were performed. As a result of the analysis, the dominant brain thinking type of nursing students was in quadrant C the most. And there was a statistically significant positive relationship between the brain dominance type and empathy in the C quadrant(r=.38) and D quadrant(r=.54). The overall empathy ability was highest in the D quadrant, and there was a statistically significant difference in the overall empathy ability according to the brain dominant thinking type(F=4.95, p<.01). Based on the results of this study, it is intended to be used in theoretical and practical education for nurse nurturing to improve empathy ability of nursing students.
