  • Recently, the seabed facility is gradually being increased based on the development of harbor and the coastal area. However, the comparison between the survey data with the chart still shows the significant differences leading to various disasters over sea accident. Therefore, in this study, the investigation on the seabed facility were performed in 5 areas through an accuracy analysis using an up-to-date surveying equipment(MBES, SSS and SBP). Based on the study more systematic management on the seabed facility, more accurate method on the surveying, and some considerations on the related policies are suggested. Through the study, we obtained more accurate measurement on depth and seabed piping forms in Jakdo and Pyong-tack, on sunken ship in a Mok-po, on seabed crater in Je-ju. In addition, it was possible to present the method for the construction of information infra and a connection with the seabed facility. The criteria on the equipment's specification, surveying method and procedures are set by the experiments and the investigation and surveying accuracy on the seabed facilities are also suggested.

  • Following the announcement made in 2007of the information education curriculum for high schools, India followed through with a similar announcement in June 2013 for an elementary school curriculum to be linked with that of the high schools. As a characteristic feature of India's educational curriculum, the structure is "helical" in nature, while interaction between teachers and students is emphasized as a key method for education. During the past few years India has revised its educational curriculum based on Bruner's 'Structure of Knowledge,' which has changed the paradigm of the nation's educational curriculum. This study analyzed India's educational curriculum that aims at a helical structure and, at the same time, emphasizes 'narrative' thinking in schools. The goal of this study is to discover possible suggestions or implications for Korea's information education curriculum by analyzing India's education that concurrently seeks to employ 'Structure of Knowledge' and 'Narrative' theories in a single educational curriculum.

  • Road guide sign is one of important traffic facility, which guides a driver a direction to go. A road is being newly built and/or an existing road can be temporarily closed very often at metropolitan area. Such information has to be linked to a road guide sign and to be updated in time. Otherwise, it might cause not only confusion to a driver but also traffic accident and/or traffic congestion. However, road guide signs are not properly managed at this time since the amounts of information are huge and they are being managed through paper maps manually. A decision-making framework has been developed to manage a variety of information of road guide signs based on the concept of GIS(Geographic Information Systems). Especially, it is designed on the fact that the existing national digital base maps under the NGIS(National Geographic Information Systems) program can be utilized. This framework has several functions such as the manipulation of statistics, landmark linkages along the selected traffic corridor and automatic design of signboard's content. This system is applied to the Kangnam district in Seoul Metropolitan area (SMA) for a case study.

  • With deepening globalization, various problems happening all over the world have not been limited to a country any more, but have had an influence over neighboring countries and international community. To deal with these problems international cooperation is getting important. Thus, over the existing individual- and state-centered thought, the alternative education is required to teach how to make a sustainable society and what to do for living together. In particular, current students are asked to be equipped with proper knowledge and attitude since they are to live as a global citizen beyond the Korean citizen in globalized era. This study analyzes the status of development education in other countries and in Korea, and it also suggests the use of terminology, approach to teaching, educational contents, and last but not least how to link the regular school curriculum in elementary, middle, high school.
