A Study on the Effect on the New Teaching Strategy Facilitating Reflective Thinking in the Learning of the Particulate Nature of Matter (물질의 입자성 학습에서 반성적 사고를 촉진시키는 새로운 입자모델 교수전략의 효과 - 초등학교 예비교사를 대상으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to design the new teaching strategy based on the particulate model facilitating the reflective thinking (RE-PM) in the learning of the particulate nature of matter, and to investigate the effect of the new teaching strategy in compare with the traditional teaching strategy (TS-PM) after treating with new teaching strategy on preliminary teachers of elementary school. The problems of traditional teaching strategy are as follows: 1) Most of students didn't think the particulate model connected with practical material. 2) Most of students have a tendency of the rote memory on learning of the traditional particulate model. 3) The ratio of changing the view of continuous matter into the view of particulate nature of matter was very low, after learning the particulate model using of the traditional teaching strategy. The new teaching strategy facilitating the reflective thinking was more effective on the understanding of particulate nature of matter and the driving of motivation than the traditional teaching strategy in the learning of the particulate nature of matter.

The Concept of "Accident" under the Warsaw System (국제항공운송협약상(國際船空運送協約上) 사고(事故)의 개념(槪念))

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the concept of "accident" under the Warsaw system including the Warsaw Convention for the Unification of certain Rules for International Carriage by Air of 1929 and the Montreal Convention of 1999. Most leading case on this subject is Air France v. Saks(470 U.S. 392 (1985)). In the Saks case, it was held that the definition of an accident must be applied flexibly, and most courts have adhered to the definition of accident in Saks case, the application of accident has been less than consistent. However, most cases have held that if the event is usual and expected operation of the aircraft, then no accident has occurred. Courts have also held that where the injury results from passenger's own internal reaction to the usual, normal, and expected operations of the aircraft, it is not caused by an accident. As the Warsaw drafters intended to create a system of liability rules that would cover all hazards of air travel, the carrier should liable for the inherent risks of air travel. It is right in that the carrier is in a better position than the passenger to control the risks during air travel. Most US courts have held that carriers are not liable for one passenger's assault on the other passenger. The interactions between passengers are not part of the normal operations of the aircraft and are therefore not covered by the word "accident" under Art 17 of the Warsaw Convention. It is regretful that the Montreal Convention did not attempt to clarify the concepts of accident in itself. In the light of an emerging tendency to hold the air carrier liable for occurrences that do not exactly go to the operation of the aircraft, it is desirable to regulate that the carrier is liable for an "event" instead of an "accident" in accordance with the Guatemala City protocol.

Establishment of the Appropriate Risk Standard through the Risk Assessment of Accident Scenario (사고시나리오별 위험도 산정을 통한 적정 위험도 기준 설정)

  • An off-site consequence analysis is used to calculate the risks when hazardous chemicals that is being used on-site has been exposed off-site; the biggest factor that impacts the risk is the risks of accident scenarios. This study seeks to calculate risks according to accident scenarios by applying OGP/LOPA risk calculating methods for similar facilities, calculate risk reduction ratio by inspecting applicable IPL for incidents, and propose an appropriate risk standard for different risk calculating methods. Considering all applicable IPL when estimating the safety improvement of accident scenarios, the risk of OGP is 8.05E-04 and the risk of LOPA is 1.00E-04, According to the case of IPL, the risk is 1.34E-02. The optimal risk level for accident scenarios using LOPA was $10^{-2}$, but the appropriate risk criteria for accident scenarios in foreign similar studies were $10^{-3}{\sim}10^{-4}$, the risk of a scenario can be determined at an unacceptable level. When OGP is applied, it is analyzed as acceptable level, but in case of applying LOPA, all applicable IPL should be applied in order to satisfy the acceptable risk level. Compared to OGP, the risk is high when LOPA is applied. Therefore, the acceptable risk level should be set differently for each risk method.

  • 본 논문에서는 대학교의 재난안전관리 역량 증진의 필요성을 시사하고, 이를 위한 방법론을 제시하고자 하였다. 대학교는 다량의 화학물질 보유, 출입통제 제한적, 인적 물적 인프라 집중 등의 이유로 재난 및 안전사고 발생 확률이 높으며 동시에 발생 시 피해규모도 클 것이라 예측 가능하다. 하지만 아직까지 대학교 재난안전관리에 대하여 대학실험실안전관리에만 치중되어 있는 경향이 있다. 그러므로 대학교 재난안전관리 역량지표를 개발하고 역량수준을 진단하여 전반적인 대학교 재난안전관리 역량수준을 향상시킬 필요성이 있다. 본 논문에서는 대학교 재난안전관리 역량지표 개발을 위해 선행되어야 할 국내외 재난안전관리 역량분석을 실시하였다. 대학교 재난안전관리 현황분석을 통한 대학교 재난안전관리 업무목록을 바탕으로 국내외 재난안전관리 역량지표를 적용하여 대학교 재난안전관리 역량지표 개발이 가능할 것이다.

  • 본 논문은 국제민간항공기구(ICAO)의 안전 정의를 기반으로, 항공안전을 유지하기 위해 체계적인 안전관리시스템(Safety Management System, SMS)이 필요함을 강조한다. 특히, COVID-19 이후의 항공 환경 변화에 빠르게 대응할 수 있는 안전관리체계의 필요성을 제기하였으며, 또한, 기존의 하인리히의 법칙을 확장한 Bird의 신도미노 이론을 활용하여 '안전하지 않은 행위'를 세부적으로 분석하고 데이터를 기반으로 이를 탐지하고 관리할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다. 이를 통해 사고나 사건 발생 이전에 이상 경향을 파악하는 중요성을 강조하며, 이를 위해 항공안전데이터를 수집하고 전처리하여 분석의 기반을 마련하고자 한다. 본 논문은 데이터 분석 기술을 활용하여 항공안전을 향상시키는 방법을 탐구하고, 이를 통해 예방적 안전관리의 기반을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대하며, 더불어, 데이터 분석 기술의 중요성을 강조하며, 이를 적극적으로 도입하여 안전성을 높이는데 핵심 역할을 할 것을 희망한다.

  • In this study, we have investigated several input factors and output factors to maintain safety management of domestic shipping companies, and then have analyzed the efficiency of performance about each shipping companies' safety management system from 1998 year to 2004 year using DEA method. The result of analysis shows that the annual mean efficiency index of total companies tended downward every year. Analysis was that the cause was increase of the cost of repairing ship, the cost of ship's stores and idle day of ship while the number of marine accidents and sanctions of PSC, ship's insurances and P&I insurances was decreased.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of need for closure on college students' problem recognition and communication behavior. Specifically, this research examined differences about situation recognitions and communication behaviors across level of need for closure factors (preference for order and structure, preference for predictability, decisiveness, discomfort with ambiguity, closed-mindeness). The results show that the participants with higher level of discomfort with ambiguity and low level of closed-mindeness are more likely to high problem recognition, constraint recognition, involvement recognition, and doing active communication behaviors.

  • 대형화, 고압화되고 있는 전력설비는 사고가 발생할 경우 그에 수반되는 산업, 경제, 사회적인 손실의 규모가 매우 커지는 경향을 가진다. 특히 적정온도 이상에서의 운전은 전력설비의 오동작을 일으키는 주요한 원인 중 하나이므로 비정상적인 온도상승을 조기에 감지하여 사고의 가능성을 감소시키는 시스템의 개발은 안정적인 전력설비 운용에 반드시 필요한 요소기술이다. 기존의 감시 시스템은 대부분 여러 위치의 정보를 동시에 얻기 위하여 여러 개의 개별 센서를 배열하여야하므로 대형중량화가 불가피하다는 단점을 갖고 있다. 그러나 광섬유 FBG 온도센서는 전자기 간섭의 영향을 받지 않고, 여러 개의 센서를 하나의 광섬유 라인에 설치하여 동시에 여러 부위의 온도를 측정할 수 있는 준분배형 온도센서 구현이 가능하다는 장점으로 과열감시 시스템에 적합한 센서로 인식된다. 본 연구에서는 광섬유 FBG 온도센서를 이용하여 변압기 단락시험을 통해 변압기의 온도 변화를 T-type thermocouple(이하 TC)과 동일한 지점에서 측정하고, 그 데이터를 비교분석함으로써 광섬유 FBG 온도센서 시스템의 신뢰성을 검증하였고, 이를 전력용 변압기 과열감시 시스템으로 적용할 수 있음을 제시하였다.

A quantitative study on patterns of terrorist bombing incidents (계량분석을 통한 폭탄테러사건의 패턴분석)

  • This study focuses on the characteristics of terrorist bombing incidents and causal factors on terrorist bombing incidents and number of casualty per incident in Afghanistan though statistical quantitative analysis. For doing so, the bombing data from GTD(Global Terrorism Database) of START program occurred from January 1st 2002 until December 31st 2011 was used. By using descriptive analysis, chi-square, and logistic regression analysis, characteristics of bombing incidents and causal factors on the frequency of incidents and the number of casualty were identified. According to the analysis results, a clear pattern was appeared in terrorist bombing incidents. This result suggests that terrorists rationally and strategically calculate bombing operations and therefore terrorist bombing incidents and number of casualty per incident are conditioned or affected by time, season, Pashtun tribal entity, production level of drugs, the characteristics of targets.

  • This study analysed the articles dealing with traffic behavior published since 1990 in Korea. The following information was coded for each articles; year of publication, source, authors, main topic and subtopic. The annual numbers of publication before 1996 was below 10 articles and over 10 articles after 1997. The driver was main topic of 60.8% of articles and traffic enviroment was 26.4%. Personality & Attitude, Cognition & Perception and Alcohol were the main interest subtopics dealing with main topic driver. And the dominant publications were Journal of traffic safety research, Journal of Korean society of transportation and Korean journal of psychological and social issues with 60% of all articles.
