Unlike host-based IPv6 mobility support protocols such as Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6), Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6), and Fast handover for Mobile IPv6 (FMIPv6), Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) is expected to accelerate the real deployment of IPv6 mobility support protocol by using only collaborative operations between the network entities without mobile node (MN) being involved. In this paper, we analyze and compare the handover latency of network-based IPv6 mobility support protocol (i.e., PMIPv6) with the representative host-based IPv6 mobility support protocols such as MIPv6, HMIPv6, and FMIPv6. Analytical results show that the handover latency of PMIPv6 is considerably lower than those of MIPv6 and HMIPv6, and the handover latency of PMIPv6 becomes lower than that of FMIPv6 in case the wireless link delay is greater than the delay between mobile access gateway (MAG) and local mobility anchor (LMA).
For popularization of virtual reality hardwares, VR sickness come from latency is huge problem. To reduce latency, most of the HMDs use cable for video transmission. However, cable causes spatial limitation that disturb user experience. For maximize user's immersion, wireless video transmission system is necessary. Unfortunately, wireless video transmission's latency is much longer than cable's latency. Prediction algorithms may reduce latency but cause jittering effect as a side effect. This paper experiment how jittering effect affects VR sickness. The result of experiment shows jittering effect make vr sickness worse. Future research about prediction algorithm should consider both prediction error and jittering effect.
Ionospheric delay error, one of main error sources in GPS signal, varies with signal frequency. Dual-frequency user uses L1, L2 frequency pseudorange to estimate the ionospheric delay, and there are errors caused by pseudorange measurement noise. So, filter is usually used to smooth the measurement. Weighted hatch filter can estimate optimal smoothed pseudorange measurement. But measurement noise model is needed to use this filter. In this paper, measurement noise modeling is conducted for NDGPS reference station. Using noise modeling result, weighted hatch filter estimate smoothed pseudorange measurement and ionospheric delay. Standard deviation of ionospheric dealy error drops to one-twenty fifth of non-filtered result.

In this paper, we proposed a novel true time-delay (TTD) feeder for phased array antennas (PAAs) using fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) and fibers coated with Cr/Au film. This structure requires less number of FBGs than the previously proposed FBG TTD feeders since one FBG is replaced with a metal film reflector in a strand of optical delay line connected to each antenna element and also provides the flexible wavelength selection since the metal film shows wide reflectance spectrum. A TTD for 10 GHz linear PAAs capable of steering beams in three different directions at 0$^{\circ}$and $\pm$30$^{\circ}$has been built. Experimental results on time delays are in good agreement with those calculated at all the steering angles. A 10 GHz linear array antenna with eight antenna elements red from the proposed TTD has been designed and the far-field radiation pattern or this antenna has been obtained by simulation.
Providing Quality-of-Service (QoS) guarantee requires for each router on the path of a traffic flow not to violate the flow's delay budget allocated to itself. Since the amount of load being offered to the router is determined by the budget, some imbalance in load among routers on the path may be alleviated by means of adjusting the budget. The equal allocation applied to the resource reservation protocol (RSVP) is simple to implement, but it has the drawback of a poor resource utilization. A load balancing method in which the delay budget being allocated to a router depends on its load state was developed to improve the drawback, but it's too complex to apply to the RSVP. This paper proposes an intra-path load balancing method not only applicable to the RSVP but also more effective in improving the drawback. The proposed method first partitions the end-to-end delay bound of a flow to routers by the RSVP and then let them adjust their budgets according to both the bottleneck state of the path and their links' bandwidth availabilities. The results of the simulation applying the proposed method to an evaluation network showed that the proposed method may provide the gain of 4 ${\sim}$ 17 % compared to that in the legacy one in terms of the number of maximally admittable flows.

This paper introduces two multi-hop delay factors which can be caused by conventional TDMA scheduling; queueing delay and delay by random link scheduling, and proposes a new sequential scheduling scheme to resolve these two factors. We also simulate the TDMA network with the proposed link scheduling scheme and compare it with conventional(random) link scheduling scheme in terms of end-to-end packet transmission delay. From the simulation results, the more the average hop distance increases, the more the difference of the delay performance of both scheduling schemes increases. When the average number of hops is 2.66, 4.1, 4.75, and 6.3, the proposed sequential scheduling scheme reduces the average end-to-end delay by about 22%, 36%, 48%, and 55% respectively when compared to the random scheduling scheme.

The real multimedia application in wide area communication needs the guaranteed performance of communication service. Therefore, the resource is reserved at the moment of traffic burst and the region of connection admission possibility is widened at the basis of maximum cell rate. This of study shows that the end-to-end traffic delay to the traffic of burst state is guaranteed when the total of maximum transmission rate is higher than link speed by using the region of deterministic delay. The network load rate of connection admission can be improved by the inducement of delay bounds consideration each traffic characteristic to guarantee the end-to-end delay of network from single switch. This suggested buffering system using deterministic service do not give any influence to service quality and can guarantee the bounds of end-to-end delay. And it can also reduce the load of network even if the delay is increased according to the burst traffic characteristic. The above suggested system can be applied effectively to the various kinds of general network specification which admit both real time trafnc service and non-real time traffic service.

Like other wireless network protocols, IEEE 802.15.4 adopts CA (Collision Avoidance)algorithm to avoid the early collision of a new packet by randomizing its first transmission time rather than its immediate delivery. The traditional CA scheme of IEEE 802.15.4, however, selects the random access time from the predetermined range without considering the degree of current congestion. It probably causes either a long delay to settle in the suitable range for the current network load or frequent clashes especially during the long lasting heavy traffic period. This paper proposes an ACA(Adaptive Collision Avoidance) algorithm adapting the initial backoff range to the undergoing collision variations. It also introduces a mathematical model to predict the performance of ACA algorithm added to IEEE 802.15.4. With only small deviations from corresponding simulations, our analytical model shows that ACA technique can improve the throughput of IEEE 802.15.4 by up-to 41% maximally in addition to shortening the packet delays.

Cloud-based streaming game service has numerous merits, but it may suffer from presentation latency in a thin-client. It is an important issue especially for game service which needs instantaneous response to user inputs. This research proposes the methods for reducing the presentation latency between the server unit and the thin-client unit. The approaches proposed to be employed with server unit include the source/sync video format equalization, encoding format configuration according to the media type, and the S/W implementation for transmitting clock periodically. The methods for the thin-client unit include the decreasing the number of instructions, use of light encryption algorithm, and improvement on H/W decoding. The proposed schemes are tested with a commercialized streaming service platform, which reveals the reduction of presentation latency as large as a few hundred milliseconds and reaches the acceptable level (about 100 milliseconds).
To evaluate the effects of sucrose-fatty acid ester (SE) on bread-making characteristics, the dough mixing, gelatinization, baking properties with the addition of SE alone and together with other surfactants were investigated. SE increased the peak time and the peak height in mixogram, indicating that it contributed the elasticity of dough. In farinogram, SE increased the peak time and mechanical tolerance index, but reduced the dough stability. SE increased the peak viscosity and reduced the gelatinization temperature and maximum consistency temperature in amylogram. SE increased the specific volume of bread loaf and retarded the increase in hardness of bread during storage, showing its anti-staling effects. The maximum anti-staling effect of SE was observed at 0.5% level. The addition of SE (0.2%), SSL (0.15%) and ES-95 (0.15%) blend showed the maximum specific loaf volume, and that of SE (0.25%) and SSL (0.25%) did the maximum anti-staling effect.
