선박용 미분무 소화기노즐 수적 입자경 계측기법 개발

  • Recently, fire extinguishing systems based on water mists have been attracting public attentions in marine engineering. Performance of the fire extinguishing systems is influenced by the size and distribution of spayed water mists. Droplet analyzing method based on image processing technique for measuring droplet size and distribution has been developed. The morphological method based on partial curvature information of pre-processed images was adopted for recognition and separation of overlapped particles. Tested results show that the present method may be reliable for the analysis of the size and distribution of droplets produced by water mist spay flow.

  • A numerical method is presented to predict and analyze the shape and the temperature history of a growing billet produced form the "spray forming" which is a fairly new near net-shape manufacturing process. It is important to understand the mechanism of billet growing and the cooling history of the spray deposited body, because one can obtain a billet with the desired final shape without secondary operations by accurate control of the billet shape and, moreover, growing velocity together with the cooling rate define the microstructure of the final formed product. In the present study, a theoretical model is first established to predict the shape of the billet and next the transient axisymmetric heat conduction problem with growing domain is solved using the so called "front tracking finite element technique".ent technique".uot;.

Fabrication and Physical Properties of $RuO_2$ Thin Films ($RuO_2$ 박막의 제조와 물성)

  • 용액분무법으로 RuO2 박막을 석영 기판위에 성장시켰다. RuO2 박막의 결정구조는 정방 구조이 며 격자상수 a0=4.508 A, c0=3.092 A 이였다. RuO2 박막은 금속성 전도성을 나타냈다. RuO2박마의 광흡 수도는 후열처리함에 따라 증가하였고 박막의 광흡수도의 최소값은 후열처리 온도에 의존하지 않으며 에너지로 환산하면 ∼2.0eV로 거의 일정하였다. RuO2 박막의 후열처리의 온도와 후열처리 분위기가 기 판위에 성장된 RuO2 박막의 표면형태 grain 크기 grain 경계폭 전기적특성등에 영향을 미쳤다. RuO2 박 막이 실험실내의 공기중에 노출됨으로서 시료의 표면에 S와 C가 물리 흡착되었으며 sputtering 시간이 증가함에 따라 Ar+ 이온 빔의 충겨으로 RuO2가 부분적으로 환원되어 O원자의 피크 대 피크 높이가 감 소하여 O/Ru 의피크 높이의 비가 낮게 관측되었다.

A study on the characteristics of soots formation in spray flame for DI diesel engine (직접분사식 디젤기관의 화염 속에서 생성되는 그을음의 특성에 관한 연구)

  • To analyze a formation process of the soots in spray flame in the combustion chamber, an optically accessible DI Diesel engine was used for visualization. The images of the flames and soots were visualiaed with high speed camera by Schlieren method and Light extinction method. The spray flame and soot images on the films were analyzed at the various engine operating conditions. Soot distributed widely in spray flame and its concentration was about $100g/m^3$ at the position close by nozzle tip of spray flame region, however it decreased below $20g/m^3$ at the corner of combustion chamber due to soot oxidation.

  • To fabricate microsized poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA) beads of uniform size and density on poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) fis, we introduce an electro spraying technique that uses a target electrode applied with an ac electric fid. Using the apparatus and various material properties, we could obtain uniform size PMMA beads which were deposited on the thin PET film. The optical properties, transmittance and light diffusivity of the fis electro sprayed with the PMMA were characterized. The results show that the sprayed beads appear to act as a good optical diffuser, like microlenses. To understand the effect of process variables, applied field conditions and rheological properties, the morphological pictures of the deposited particles were investigated through the optical and scanning electron microscope.

  • Spatially resolved liquid volume fractions from a set of line-of-sight laser diffraction measurements for axisymmetric sprays generated from a pintle-type gasoline injector have been tomographically reconstructed by Abel transformation, Fourier transformation and onion peeling method. Spatially resolved liquid volume fractions classified into 32 size groups were translated characteristics of SI engine fuel sprays. These data were also obtained from the phase Doppler measurements for the same sprays. The comparison between laser deffraction measurements and transformation reconstructs more reasonable spatially resolved characteristics for axisymmetric sprays as well as for asymmetric sprays.

  • For the purpose of improving the fluidity of enteric-coated powders, various mineral silicates were added during spray drying process. Aqueous slurries of cimetidine, mineral silicates containing CMEC (carboxy methyl ethyl cellulose) were spray dried using a centrifugal wheel atomizer. The finely agglomerated powders obtained by this process were flowing as opposed to the original powders. The effect of four mineral silicates (colloidal silica, talc, bentonite, and kaolin) on the micromeritic properties and dissolution profiles of spray dried agglomerates were examined.

  • An experiment was conducted to figure out the atomization characteristics of a highly viscous biodiesel fuel with rice-barn oil applying and ultrasonic energy into it. A spray simulator for the droplet atomization, an ultrasonic system, and six different nozzles(3 pintle-type nozzles and 3 single hole-type nozzles) were made. To investigate effects of ultrasonic energy in a highly viscous liquid fuel, an immersion liquid method was used as a measurement method on droplet size distributions. It was found that the ultrasonic energy was effective for the atomization improvement of the rice-bran oil as a highly viscous biodiesel fuel and the factor나 such as the nozzle opening pressure, pin-edge angles, hole diameters, and collection distances affected the atomization of spray droplets.

Influence of Post Heat Treatment on Corrosion Resistance of Al-Mg coating Films (Al-Mg 코팅막의 내식특성에 대한 열처리의 영향)

  • 본 연구에서 PVD법중 하나인 스퍼터링(sputtering)법에 의해 제작된 Al-Mg 코팅막은 SEM, GDS, XRD를 통해 표면 및 단면의 조성분포를 분석하였으며, 내식성을 평가하기 위하여 함량별, 열처리 조건별 Al-Mg 막을 각각 5% NaCl 염수분무 환경 및 3% NaCl 자연침지 환경에 노출시켰다. 막의 내식 특성에 영향을 미치는 열처리의 영향을 알아보기 위하여 열처리-비열처리간 재료 특성 및 내식성평가 결과의 연관성을 비교-분석하였다. 열처리 결과 Al-Mg계 금속간 화합물 $Al_3Mg_2$$Al_{12}Mg_{17}$이 관찰되었으며 내식성 평가 결과, 열처리 Al-Mg 막은 비열처리 Al-Mg 막과 비교하여 양호한 내식성을 나타냈었다. 열처리를 통해 마그네슘(Mg) 성분이 대부분 금속간 화합물상으로 존재함에 따라 균일하게 분포하여 치밀한 부식생성물을 형성하게 되고, 이에 따라 Al-Mg 막 내식성에 기여한 것으로 사료된다.
