  • The purpose of this study is to confirm the effect of parents' positive and negative parenting attitudes perceived by children on smartphone dependence. In addition, it is to verify whether aggression and social withdrawal play a mediating role in the relationship between parental attitude and dependence on smartphones. In order to achieve this goal, the data of the "Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018(KCYPS 2018)" were used for analysis. The sample group is 2,399 "elementary school students 4 cohort". The research results of this study are as follows. First, it was found that autonomy support and coercion had a negative effect on aggression of children, but rejection and inconsistency had a positive effect on aggression. Second, it was found that inconsistency and rejection had a positive effect on children's social atrophy, but coercion had a negative effect. Third, it was found that aggression had a positive effect on children's dependence on smartphones, but social withdrawal had no significant effect. Fourth, it was found that autonomy support, rejection, coercion, and inconsistency indirectly affect children's dependence on smartphones through aggression. In this study's conclusion, practical implications for lowering children's dependence on smartphones were suggested.

Therefore, this study is a causal model in which self-identity (individual factor) and parental parenting attitude (family factor), which are important variables for each system level, are set as independent variables, and school support (school factor) consisting of teacher support and companion support is set as control variables. After collecting data through a questionnaire survey by interviews with 162 middle and high school students in Gyeonggi and Gangwon regions, the effect was analyzed through multiple regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that school support has a very important static moderating effect in the positive (+) effect of adolescents' self-identity and parenting attitude on school adaptability. It was confirmed that the modulating effect is relatively more important.

  • This study conducted in-depth interviews of seven parents with autistic adults and analyzed them using qualitative case study methods in order to understand overall meaning of care experiences of parents with autistic adult children. Thus, four key topics which are 'experience of embracement', 'experience of anticipation', 'experience of despair', 'experience of resistance' were constructed. Under these key topics, 12 subcategories which are 'accepting reality', 'positive experience', 'gradual improvement', 'desire to provide better quality of life', 'expectation towards the society', 'strenuous lives', 'psychological exhaustion', 'predicted anxiety', 'defensive attitude', 'distrust of social welfare', 'confronting injustice', 'active behaviors' were constructed. According to the analysis, care experiences of parents with autistic adults are not segmentary, but they are intertwined which make them more dynamic. Thus, easing their despair, empowering positiveness to them, and assisting them to have healthy resistant voice are needed to support the parents with autistic adults. Based on the analysis, we suggest an intervention plan to support autistic adults and their parents.
