  • This paper proposes a new type of evolvable hardware for implementing the clone of Moore State machine. The proposed Evolvable Hardware is employed efficient pipeline parallelization, handshaking mechanism and fitness function in FPGA Genetic Algorithm(GA) has known as a method of solving NP problem in various applications. Since a major drawback of the GA is that it needs a long computation time, the hardware implementation of Genetic Algorithm is focused on in recent studies. Conventional hardware GA uses the fired length of chromosome but the proposed Evolvable Hardware uses the variable length of chromosome by the efficient 16 bit Pipeline Unit. Experimental results show that the proposed evolvable hardware is applicable to the implementation of the clone for Moore State machine

Noise Removal of Images Using the Median Rule Cellular Automata (미디안 규칙을 갖는 셀룰러 오토마타를 이용한 영상의 잡음제거)

  • In this paper we propose a noise reduction algorithm which based on cellular automata with the local median rule. It is supposed that there is no information about the features of the image that must be improved. The proposed method behavior is to locally increase or decrease the gray level differences of the image without loss of the main characteristics of the image. The dynamical behavior of these automata is completely determined by Lyapunov operators for sequential and parallel update. We have found that the automata present very fast convergence to fixed points, stability in front of random noisy images. Based on the experimental results we discuss the advantage and efficiency.

  • Image is degraded by several causes such as the process of acquisition, storage and transmission. To restore those images, many researches have been continued. Centrally methods to restore degraded image by AWGN(additive white gaussian noise) a.e mean filter and wiener filter. Especially, mean filter is superior in noise reduction of area that is a small change of luminosity. But mean filter brings about the effect smoothing edge components of the image, because it does'nt consider characteristics of the image. So in this paper we propose an image restoration method compounding respective images adding established weights, after filtering with mean filter and powerful wiener filter in both improvement of contrast and preservation of edge components.

  • Data is increasing explosively with the spread of networks and mobile devices and there are problems in effectively processing the rapidly increasing data using existing recommendation techniques. Therefore, researches are being conducted on how to solve the scalability problem of the collaborative filtering technique. In this paper applies MapReduce, which is a distributed parallel process framework, to the collaborative filtering technique to reduce the scalability problem and heighten accuracy. The proposed technique applies MapReduce and the index technique to a user-based collaborative filtering technique and as a method which improves neighbor numbers which are used in similarity calculations and neighbor suitability, scalability and accuracy improvement effects can be expected.

  • A novel circuit structure of dual-band bandstop filters is proposed in this paper. This structure comprises two shunt-connected tri-section stepped impedance resonators with a transmission line in between. Theoretical analysis from the equivalent circuit and design procedures are described. We represented graphs for filter design from the derived synthesis equations by resonance condition of circuits. Notably, advantages of the proposed filter structure are compact size in design, wide range of realizable resonance frequency ratio, and more realizable impedances.

  • This paper describes an implementation of a unified ALU on multi-core GPGPU based on SIMT architecture. Our unified ALU can operate conditional branch instructions, data movement instructions, integer arithmetic instructions and floating-point arithmetic instructions. Since multi-core GPGPU contains a lot of ALU for parallel processing of various types, the main point of this paper is to design the minimum size ALU by unifying similar processing of each operations on circit level. All instrunctions were tested by making a test program. And we compare this results with results of CPU operations to verify our ALU. Our unified ALU's gate size is approximately 20,000 and the maximum operation frequency is 430MHz.

  • Programming that ensures concurrency is essential for developers. If you do not use it, it is hard to expect the speed of the program to improve unless there is technical advancement of the hardware itself. Programming languages that support good concurrency code include go, elixir, and scala. Python, which supports a number of useful libraries, also supports concurrent programming like asyncio and coroutine. This paper defines the concepts of concurrency and parallelism, and explains what to note when writing concurrency programming in Python. The crawler that collects web data is written in concurrent code and compared with programs written in sequential, multithreaded code.

  • In this paper, the new multiplicative algorithm using standard basis over GF(2m) is proposed. The multiplicative process is simplified by data select method in proposed algorithm. After multiplicative operation, the terms of degree greater than m can be expressed as a polynomial of standard basis with degree less than m by irreducible polynomial. For circuit implementation of proposed algorithm, we design the circuit using multiplexer and show the example over GF(24). The proposed architectures are regular and simple extension for m. Also, the comparison result show that the proposed architecture is more simple than privious multipliers. Therefore, it well suited for VLSI realization and application other operation circuits.

  • In this paper, we propose a new MLP based detector which has low circuit complexity and fast adaptation capability for CDMA downlink in frequency selective fading, and is easy for parameter optimization. The simplified structure of the proposed MLP is designed by making use of transmission characteristics of downlinks such that all users signals transmitted over same propagation paths and the number of channelization codes are limited. Significant performance improvement over Rake receiver can be obtained with the proposed MLP and the efficiency of the proposed MLP was compared with that of conventional MLP.

  • Cellular Automata is discrete dynamical systems which natural phenomena may be specified completely in terms of local relation. In this Paper we Propose noise removal and edge detection algorithm using a Potts Automata which is based on Cellular Automata. The proposed method is aimed to locally increase or decrease the differences in gray level values between pixel of the image without loss of the main characteristics of the image. The dynamical behavior of these automata is determined by Lyapunov operators for sequential and parallel update. We have found that proposed automata rules Present very fast convergence to fixed points, stability in front of random noisy images. Based on the experimental results we discuses the advantage and efficiency.
