  • This study is to examine the current situation of the AEC (ASEAN Economic Community) and analyze macroeconomic situation of Vietnam since the launch of AEC. According to recent trade indicators, Vietnam is expected to be more productive in the manufacturing and processing sectors because it is at the heart of the global value chains (GVCs) in electronics, telephones, and textiles and shoes industry. Vietnam has signed or is negotiating free trade agreements with various countries around the world including Korea, Israel, EU and RCEP and so on. Therefore, it is expected that Vietnam's trade dependency and FDI inflows to Vietnam increase more and more. However, the fact that the proportion of exports by foreign-invested companies accounts for about 70% of the total exports implies the uncertainty of Vietnam's economy in the future. Attracting FDI investment can further reduce the competitiveness of domestic companies in Vietnam. Therefore, in order for Vietnam to maintain sustainable development in the future, it is necessary to reform the momentum of foreign-invested enterprises to the development of Vietnamese companies.

  • In this paper the comparative study on the pronunciation of Vietnamese learners and Koreans for the Korean syllable final double consonants was performed. For many errors and the suggested teaching methods related to the pronunciation of the Korean syllable final double consonants that were investigated and analyzed through linguistic research the results of this study by using the analysis tools of speech signal processing were confirmed. Thus, we suggest the new educational method in this paper. Using SVM, which is widely used in machine learning of artificial intelligence the pronunciation of Vietnamese learners and that of Koreans were compared. Being able to obtain the decision hyperplane of the SVM means that Vietnamese learners' pronunciation of the Korean syllable final double consonants is quite different from that of Koreans. Otherwise their pronunciation are pretty similar each other. The new teaching method presented in this paper is not only composed of writing and listening but is included things such as the speech signal waveform in the time domain and its corresponding energy that can be visualized to the learners.

  • This study aimed to reveal how Vietnamese adult learners at three different proficiency levels perceive Korean word-initial obstruents and whether errors can be corrected through perceptual training. To this end, 105 Vietnamese beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners were given perceptual training on Korean word-initial. The training materials were created by actively utilizing Korean minimal pairs as natural stimuli recorded by native speakers. Learners in the experimental group performed five 20-40 minute self-directed perceptual training sessions over a period of approximately two weeks, while learners in the control group only participated in the pretest and posttest. The results showed a significant improvement in the perception of sounds that were difficult to distinguish before training, and both beginners and advanced learners benefited from the training. This study confirmed that large-scale perceptual training can play an important role in helping Vietnamese learners learn the appropriate acoustic cues to distinguish different sounds in Korean.
