An Empirical Study on Visitor's Sastisfaction and Revisiting Intention of EXPO Using Path Analysis: Focused on Cheonan Well-being Food Expo (경로모형을 통한 엑스포 방문객 만족도 및 재방문 의사에 관한 실증연구: 2009 천안웰빙식품 엑스포를 중심으로)

  • This study evaluates empirically visitor's satisfaction of Cheonan Well-being Exposition based on visitor's satisfaction instrument of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Using 900 questionnaire respondence of on-site visitors, confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis were conducted for results of the study. The results show that event's programs, event's composition, event's environment, convenient facilities' operations and product's quality are all significant factors for visitor's satisfaction. Visitor's satisfaction is also significant factor for visitor's loyalty. We hope that the results of this study would utilize for measurement instruments of visitor's satisfaction and loyalty.

Measuring the Environmental Attitudes for National Park Visitors : Application of New Environmental Paradigm (국립공원(國立公園) 방문객(訪問客)의 자연환경태도(自然環境態度) 측정(測定) : New Environmental Paradigm의 적용(適用))

  • This study examined several characteristics such as the relationships between environmental attitudes and national park visitors' socio-economic characteristics, and between environmental attitudes and their travel motivations. Environmental attitude was measured using the modified New Environmental Paradigm(NEP) scale, where five response options existed(from strongly disagree to strongly agree). Data for this empirical analysis were obtained from 2,647 participants at six national parks-Sulaksan, Kayasan, Naeiangsan, Pookhansan, Taeanhaean, and Hanryohaesang. Results showed that most visitors gave a pro-NEP response ranging from neutral attitude to pro-environmentalism. Environmental attitudes correlated positively with education level, while, negatively with age. Environmental concern, also, generally correlated positively with 'rest' and 'health' motivators, while, negatively with 'socialization' and 'vacation' motivators. The findings of this study suggest that education is the most effective politic measure to lead pro-environmental concern for park visitors. And, given the nature of the relationship between environmental concern and visitors' motivation, park managers should be more careful handling with family and group visitors who have 'vacation' and 'socialization' motivators than 'rest' and 'health' motivators.

  • This research is designed to comprehend the 'participation' motivation of fishing village, and analyze the effect of such participation' motivation of the overall satisfaction on fishing village, in aspect of 'demand'. And, this thesis is intended to present the detailed factors of such participation motivation, and raise and address the pertained problems, in an effort to strengthen the effective marketing activities in fishing village and rejuvenate the fishing village tourism. The signifiant difference has made, with regard to demographical traits, and available traits and participation motivation of fishing village tourism. Concerning significant relations and effects of participation motivation and satisfaction, the five factors, such as "somatic and self-realization", "recreation", and "educational or cultural" reveals to have had effects on the satisfaction of fishing village tourism, in turn. But, "status or fame" have had less direct effects on the satisfaction.

  • Today, many museums are changing their forms with ubiquitous environment. Unlike traditional museums providing only static text-based information attached to its corresponding artifacts to visitors, those ubiquitous museums provide not only artifacts' text information, but also many different forms of information such as sound or media through personal digital assistance or cell phones. However, these existing ubiquitous museums still provide each visitor only with artifact-centric information in very simple ways. Also this disadvantageous feature causes high gallery congestion problem resulting from providing a uniform path for every visitor. These limitations may be the biggest barrier to providing more various and useful information about artifacts to visitors through considering each visitor's preference. This paper propose a new optimal viewing path search algorithm to provide comfortable museum viewing for each visitor according to its preference. Also, a new congestion control method is developed to protect visitors from being put in some hot spots on their museum viewing, improving its comfort to a maximum.

  • As an exploratory research, this paper studied the characteristics of visitor experience in the world first digital aquarium 'IQuarium' by the qualitative observation method. Between June and August of 2013, the first and second qualitative observations were made to gather the data of the behavioral and linguistic responses of visitors. The results of this study were as follows: First, visitors experienced the transformation of their identity and escapism by participating the activities. Second, they experienced the entertaining competition spirit against other visitors for fun. Third, they acted as story-makers by actively participating into the missions. Fourth, they had educational experiences by obtaining information about sea life and experienced the aesthetical atmosphere of 'IQuarium'. Although this study has limitations of the subjective perspective based on qualitative observation method, it will provide proper insight into advanced research in similar fields in the future.

  • "Tourist Gaze" discussion in the 21st century introduces that tourist is the post-modern and post-fordism figure. Festival visitors can be said as one of the post-modern tourists, so this figure has "performance turn" feature as well. It will be discussed here why festival visitors of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival want to visit the festival. As post-modern and post-fordism figure, festival visitors want to experience autonomy, competence and relationshjp based on the performance turn.

  • This research were aimed to verify possible transferring regional development's value into festival contents. It was widely known that Korean festival's theme has been relatively pale in comparing its abundancy, which were required variety of festival contents. Luckily, local residents in Cittaslow frequently host slow-themed festivals, not only to revitalize their communities but also to serve the visitors. Those phenomenon shed the light to study the culture tourism interpreters' role as the presenter of regional development value to visitors at festival setting. Total 180 of questionnaires were administered to Gimsatgat festival visitors, verifying the relationship of variables, interpreters' role, perception of festival theme, revisit intention and practice intention. Regression analysis revealed that significantly influential relations between variables. Successful interpreters will support visitors' understanding of Cittaslow value, satisfaction and practice in daily life. Theoretical /practical significances and research limitation were included.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of benefit sought and service quality of the travel show visitors who are used as advertisements of tourism companies due to increase of tourism on the behavioral intentions and to use as a useful information to plan travel show. For this study, 240 visitors from Hanatour International Travel Show are selected. And 203 valid questionnaires are analyzed. With collected materials, SPSS 17.0, AMOS 7.0 program was used to verify research problems. As a result, travel show visitors' benefit sought don't have any influence on the behavioral intentions to revisit and to recommend. Second, travel show visitors' service quality have a positive influence on the behavioral intentions to revisit and to recommend. Thus travel show host should try hard to make travel show be an important tourism resource by continuous improvement of service quality.

Effects the Satisfaction, Revisit and Intention of Recommendation by the Image of the Local Festival : Focused on The Pork Festival in Jeju (지역축제 이미지가 방문객의 만족도, 재방문 및 추천의사에 미치는 영향 : 제주도세기축제 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the image of the feel of the local festival visitors participated in local festivals, the local festival image Impact on vistor's satisfaction, revisit and intention of recommendation. In addition, empirically how the visitor's satisfaction impact on their revisit and intention of recommendation. Analysis showed that local festival image factor is derived by three factors, such as cognitive image factor, emotional image factor, facility image factor. All three factors ware seen as the important factors affecting the visitor's facilities satisfaction, but only emotional image of the three images was a factor affecting the visitor's operating satisfaction. Above all should be considered cognitive image Among the three images(cognitive images, emotional images, facilities Images) To enhance the visitor's revisit and intention of recommendation. In other words, it is important that the position of local festival be considered. Should try to raise the quality of cognitive images to improve the visitor's satisfaction, revisit and intention of recommendation at the same time.

Segmenting Ecotourism Village Visitors by Motivation (생태체험마을 방문 동기에 따른 시장세분화)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the motives of tourists who visited ecotourism villages in Korea. A self-administered survey was obtained from 254 visitors in six ecotourism villages. As for the motivations of ecotourism village visitors, four factors ('relaxation', 'adventure', 'experience natural' and 'family togetherness') were extracted. Three distinct segments were identified based on the motivation : multipurpose seekers (45.3%), relaxation seekers (34.6%), family togetherness seekers (20.1%). Socio-demographic characteristics and tourism behaviors of each segmentation were also analyzed. The findings should be of interest to practitioners of ecotourism village marketing and operation.
