Case Study of a Dog Vocalizing Human's Words (사람의 말을 발성하는 개의 사례 연구)

  • This paper studies characteristics and causes of sound, and many others by distinguishing passivity and activity of the cases of a dog vocalizing human's words. As a result of the previous cases of vocalization of human's words, the dog was able to understand characteristics of a host's voice and imitate the sound using his own vocal organs. This is the case of passive vocalization accompanied by temporary voice imitation without a function of communication. On the contrary, as a consequence of the recently reported case in which a dog vocalizes such words as "Um-ma" and "Nu-na-ya," it shows the vocalization pattern clearly distinguished from the prior cases. The given dog repeatedly vocalizes pertaining words in an active manner according to circumstances and plays a role of fundamental communication and interaction with its host. The reason why the dog can vocalize the man's words actively is determined to be that the dog has a high level of intelligence and intimacy with its host, that people react actively to its pertaining pronunciation, and so forth. The following results can be used for the study that investigates animals' sound with vocalization possibility and language learning feasibility.

Therapeutic Use of Music for Stuttering Children (말더듬 아동을 위한 음악치료적 접근)

  • Unlike other common forms of speech disorder, such as phonological disorder or dysphonia, stuttering has not been studied within the context of music therapy. Most cases of stuttering display no difficulty in singing, and fluency within the musical structure does not translate to fluency in speech. Hence, musical approach has been generally considered to be ineffective to the treatment of stuttering. However, the fundamentals of music therapy assume its extensive application in treating variety of speech disorders, including the case of stuttering. Presented in this paper are the case studies designed to validate the efficacy of music therapy as a remedy for stuttering. This study enrolled 6 children with stuttering and conducted 20 individual sessions over a period of 10 weeks. The sessions focused on the Melodic Intonation Therapy, Reinforcement of speech rhythm, song writing and singing. Musical elements were structured to enhance the verbal expression and rhythmic senses, as well as to facilitate the initiation of verbal communication. The result is as follows. First, it was noticed that the disfluency had been decreased in before and after of the music therapy in every child although the result was somewhat different depending the child. The overall result of the investigation shows the significant difference statistically. And categorically speaking, the significant difference was checked in the frequency of the stuttering. In the steps of the session, the increase and decrease was happened repeatedly, and then after it was decreased little by little. Secondly, the Communication Attitude was decreased in before and after of the music therapy, and also there was significant difference statistically. although the avoidance behavior was decreased in before and after of the music therapy, the increase and the decrease was repeated irregularly in the steps of session. All the results described above shows that music therapy gives positive effect to decrease in disfluency of stuttering child and also to develop the Communication Attitude. And new possibility and effectiveness can be proposed in the musical approach to the stuttering.

TREATMENT OF REACTIVE ATTACHMENT DISORDER (반응성 애착 장애의 치료)

  • Most articles of Reactive Attachment Disorder reported Disinhibited Type children adopted from other countries. Reports from only Turkey and Korea focused on Inhibited Type of Reactive Attachment Disorder children whom raised by their own parents and whose symptoms are very similar to Autistic Disorder. Since articles of treatment of Reactive Attachment Disorder, especially for Inhibited Type are very rare, this article informed the author's experiences of treatment for Korean Reactive Attachment Disorder children since 1987. To treat Reactive Attachment Disorder patients and their parents, three important areas must be included : 1) to make a therapeutic environment for a Reactive Attachment Disorder child, 2) to make an attachment between Reactive Attachment Disorder child and his/her mother through individual play therapy, filial therapy, and group therapy with sibling or peer, 3) to catch up developmental delay by speech therapy, cognitive therapy and therapeutic education. This treatment methods can be more easily and more effectively applied to Korean patients than other methods from western countries including USA or England.

Development of Flood Runoff Characteristics Nomograph for Small Catchment Using R-Programming (R-프로그래밍을 이용한 소유역 홍수유출특성 노모그래프 개발)

  • 본 연구는 집중호우에 의한 홍수예측 및 소유역의 유출거동에 대한 수문학적 민감성(susceptibility) 규명을 목적으로 강우강도, 지속기간 및 토양포화도 변화에 따른 홍수유출특성을 분석하여 유역의 유출거동 민감성을 표출할 수 있는 노모그래프를 개발하였다. 개별 홍수사상에 대한 유출거동 특성 분석을 위하여 한국건설기술연구원의 대표 시험유역인 설마천 유역의 과거 17년간(1996 ~ 2012)의 10분 간격의 강우량 및 유출량 자료를 수집하여 홍수유출해석을 수행하였다. 설마천 시험유역의 일누가강우량 100mm 이상, 50개 홍수사상에 대한 홍수유출해석은 유역 물순환 해석모형인 CAT(Catchment hydrological cycle Assessment Tool)을 이용하였으며 모의결과를 바탕으로 홍수사상별 지체시간, 강우강도, 지속기간 및 토양포화도 변화에 따른 홍수유출특성을 상세히 분석하였다. 이 중에서도 지체시간은 유역반응을 나타내는 시간변수로서 수문모델링 및 홍수량예측에 매우 중요한 요소이다. 특히, 강우량에 대한 홍수량의 반응이 빠른 소유역의 경우에 홍수량예측에 큰 영향을 미친다. 따라서 강우강도, 지속기간, 토양포화도의 변화량에 대한 지체시간의 거동을 R 프로그래밍 언어 및 3D Surfer를 이용하여 분석한 후 최종적으로 소유역의 홍수유출 특성을 나타내는 3차원 홍수 유출특성 노모그래프를 개발하였다. 분석에 사용된 R 프로그래밍 언어는 통계 계산과 그래픽을 위한 프로그래밍 언어이자 소프트웨어 환경으로 데이터의 조작 및 수치연산, 시각화를 수행할 수 있는 기능을 여러 패키지를 통해 구현할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 R을 이용하여 10분 단위의 강우 및 유출량 자료를 1시간 및 1일 자료로 구축하고 17년간의 과거 홍수사상을 분리하여 추출하는 R 홍수유출해석 시스템을 개발하였으며 추출된 홍수사상을 관측 유출량 및 관측 토양수분을 포함하여 시각화함으로써 강우 및 토양수분 변화에 따른 소유역의 유출거동 민감성을 확인할 수 있었다. 분석 결과, 지체시간은 강우지속기간 및 토양포화도에 민감한 거동특성을 나타냈으며 토양포화도는 첨두홍수량의 변화에 민감한 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 개발된 3차원 홍수유출특성 노모그래프는 유역의 규모 및 지형물리학적 특성에 따라 다양하게 나타날 것으로 판단되며 여러 계측유역에 적용함으로써 유역별 홍수유출 반응특성을 정량화할 필요가 있다. 즉, 강우강도, 지속기간, 지체시간, 포화도 등의 변화에 따른 유역의 홍수유출 반응특성을 규명함으로써 미계측 유역의 홍수량예측 실무에 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

Usability of Augmented Reality Picture Book for Young Children (유아를 위한 증강현실 그림책에 대한 사용성 연구)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the usability of augmented reality (AR) picture book for young children. The participants of this study were 17 five-year-olds attending to M kindergarten in Korea. The measurement of the usability was conducted by observation and interviews during and after children's AR picture book reading 1) usability test score such as task completed that is, reading the AR picturebook successfully, 2) children's behaviors in the process of reading the book, 3) children's response to the questions asking the level of satisfaction with the AR picture book. The result of study showed that most of children could read the AR successfully adjusting the distance and angle of AR picture book to web-camera's location. And children showed verbal and nonverbal expression such as surprise, joy, questions and frustration in reading the book. Children told that AR picture book is fun and easy to read. This study would provide the implications for the interface development and adult-child book reading of AR picture books.

Suggestions for Integrating Foreign Language Teaching with Culture Education (외국어 교육과 문화 교육 통합을 위한 제언)

  • The paper is about teaching culture in a language learning. There are many teachers who are afraid of teaching foreign language with culture. They are delighted to teach politics, economics, history, art and literature as objective culture. But they are hesitant to teach subjective culture which is connected with a communication competency. The paper suggests three stages to instruct culture in a schoolroom. The first stage, it is growing out of the self-centered view. The second step, be developing self-consciousness through comparing mother culture with target culture. The last stage, it has to response to appropriately target culture. The teaching materials for the model suggested are two movies. Because the cultural aspects in the moves are subjective culture, so it has something in common with target cultural situations in a language learning. This method which is teaching culture in a the language learning has the advantage of being easy to teachers and learners. Most students like to watch a movie. The teaching material is The Chronicles of Narnia : The Lion, the Witch and The Wardrobe와 Guess Who?. I hope that this suggestion for cultural teaching is helpful for understanding each other.

Case Studies for Consulting of Elementary Mathematics teaching based on Flanders's Interaction Analysis Category System (Flanders 언어상호작용 분석법에 기초한 초등수학과 수업 컨설팅 실천 사례 연구)

  • This study is designed to help pre-service teachers to improve their teaching skills in elementary math class. For this, the consulting program with 5-steps was planned and applied to three elementary pre-service teachers. Each class the teachers performed was analyzed by both Flanders's Interaction Analysis Category System and participant observation. As results of consulting, the common characteristics of three pre-service teachers are shown. Firstly their teaching style is non directive, but they fail to induce their students spontaneously respond. They often ignore or don't use their students' respond they think incorrect to develop the next ideas. Simply saying, their classes are typically teacher-oriented but they are not authoritative. It is proved that consulting program is effective for improving developing non directive teaching skills, but is not much effective decreasing teachers' comment and increasing students' rolls in a math class.

On the Development of Agent-Based Online Game Characters (에이전트 기반 지능형 게임 캐릭터 구현에 관한 연구)

  • 개발적인 측면에서 온라인 게임 환경에서의 NPC(Non Playable Character)들은 환경인식능력, 이동능력, 특수 능력 및 아이템의 소유 배분 등을 원활히 하기 위한 능력들을 소유해야 하며, 게임 환경을 인식, 저장하기 위한 데이터구조와 자신만의 독특한 임무(mission)를 달성하기 위한 계획을 갖고 행위를 해야 한다. 이런 의미에서 NPC는 자신만의 고유한 규칙과 행동 패턴, 그리고 목표(Goal)와 이를 실행하기 위한 계획(plan)을 소유하는 에이전트로 인식되어야 할 것이다. 그러나, 기존 게임의 NPC 제어 구조나 구현 방법은 이러한 요구조건에 부합되지 못한 부분이 많았다. C/C++ 같은 컴퓨터 언어들을 이용한 구현은 NPC의 유연성이나, 행위에 많은 문제점이 있었다. 이들 언어의 switch 문법은 NPC의 몇몇 특정 상태를 묘사하고, 그에 대한 행위를 지정하는 방법으로 사용되었으나, 게임 환경이 복잡해지면서, 더욱더 방대한 코드를 만들어야 했고, 해석하는데 많은 어려움을 주었으며, 동일한 NPC에 다른 행동패턴을 적용시키기도 어려웠다. 또한, 대부분의 제어권을 게임 서버 폭에서 도맡아 함으로써, 서버측에 많은 과부하 요인이 되기도 하였다. 이러한 어려움을 제거하기 위해서 게임 스크립트를 사용하기도 하였지만, 그 또한 단순 반복적인 패턴에 사용되거나, 캐릭터의 속성적인 측면만을 기술 할 수 있을 뿐이었다 이러한 어려움을 해소하기 위해서는 NPC들의 작업에 필요한 지식의 계층적 분화를 해야 하고, 현재 상황과 목표 변화에 적합한 반응을 표현할 수 있는 스크립트의 개발이 필수 적이라 할 수 있다 또한 스크립트의 실행도 게임 서버 측이 아닌 클라이언트 측에서 수행됨으로써, 서버에 걸리는 많은 부하를 줄일 수 있어야 할 것이다. 본 논문에서는, 대표적인 반응형 에이전트 시스템인 UMPRS/JAM을 이용하여, 에이전트 기반의 게임 캐릭터 구현 방법론에 대해 알아본다.퓨터 부품조립을 사용해서 Template-based reasoning 예를 보인다 본 방법론은 검색노력을 줄이고, 검색에 있어 Feasibility와 Admissibility를 보장한다.매김할 수 있는 중요한 계기가 될 것이다.재무/비재무적 지표를 고려한 인공신경망기법의 예측적중률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 로지스틱회귀 분석의 재무적 지표모형은 훈련, 시험용이 84.45%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형은 84.45%, 85.08%로서 거의 동일한 예측적중률을 가졌으나 인공신경망기법 분석에서는 재무적 지표모형이 92.23%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형에서는 91.12%, 88.06%로서 향상된 예측적중률을 나타내었다.ting LMS according to increasing the step-size parameter $\mu$ in the experimentally computed. learning curve. Effects of ad endorser's gaze directions on social perceptions and advertising effectiveness (광고 모델의 시선 효과: 모델의 사회적 특성 지각과 광고 효과성)

  • An ad endorser's gaze direction is a salient nonverbal cue that consumers use in responding to advertisements. The gaze direction influences consumers' social perceptions (e.g., attractiveness, credibility) of the endorser and advertising effectiveness (e.g., advertising attitudes, brand attitudes). Especially, the cerebral emotional asymmetry hypothesis suggests that an ad endorser's left-averted gaze can produce more positive social perceptions and advertising effectiveness than the right-averted gaze for right-handed consumers. This study examined the effects of three gaze directions (direct, left-averted and right-averted gaze directions) of unknown female ad endorser on Korean males' advertising responses (attractiveness-, credibility- and ad-effectiveness-related responses), using online experimental method. The results indicated that the ad endorser's direct gaze was more likely to increase both positive (correspondence bias) and negative (suspicion, deceptiveness) social perceptions of her than the right-averted gaze. The direct gaze also created more positive advertising effectiveness (advertising attitudes) than the right-averted gaze. However, the study failed to find consistent differences in responses between left-averted gaze and either direct or right-averted gaze.

An Enhanced Milieu Teaching Strategies based Mobile Learning System to Improve Communication Ability of the Autistic Children (자폐성 아동의 의사소통 능력 향상을 위한 EMT 기반의 모바일 학습 시스템)

  • 정보사회와 함께 무선 인터넷이 발달하고 모바일 기기를 이용해 많은 정보들이 교류되면서 교육분야에서도 모바일기기 및 첨단 매체들이 활용되고 있다. 본 논문의 목적은 자폐아동의 의사소통 기능을 향상시키기 위하여 여러 논문을 성찰하여 강화된 환경중심 언어중재 (Enhanced Milieu Teaching : EMT)를 활용하여 의사소통을 신장시킬 수 있는 모바일 프로그램을 설계하였다. EMT는 아동의 기능적 의사소통을 촉진하는 환경 조절 전략과 상호작용을 촉진하는 반응적 상호전략을 결합하여 중재하는 것으로서 본 시스템의 특징은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학교생활에서 의미있게 반복될 수 있는 5가지 상황을 주제 내용으로 선정하여 의사소통 목표어와 상황의 유기적인 관련성을 갖고 의사소통 능력을 학습하고 효과를 높일 수 있도록 설계하였다. 둘째, 시간과 공간의 제약을 벗어날 수 있는 모바일 시스템을 활용하여 무한하게 반복할 수 있음으로써 의사소통 목표어의 일반화에 도달할 수 있는 시간을 절약할 수 있다. 셋째, 학습자의 수준에 따른 개별적, 수준별 STEP을 제공하며, 의미 있는 상황을 통해 의사소통 목표어를 학습하게 되므로 자폐성 아동의 자발적 의사소통에도 긍정적인 영향을 제공할 수 있다.
