A Study on the Recognition and Satisfaction of After-School Beauty Education Program (방과후학교 미용교육프로그램의 인식 및 만족도에 대한 연구)

  • In this study, we tried to understand the effect and satisfaction of education perception on beauty education and its effect on Intention to Retrain, and to understand the correlation between each intention among students participating in after-school beauty education programs of beauty specialized high schools. According to the survey, those surveyed chose after-school beauty programs because they were likely to have the right interest and aptitude, and confirmed positive responses that after-school beauty education reduced the burden of private education. In addition, the correlation between the recognition and effectiveness of beauty education, satisfaction level and retraining level of those surveyed was confirmed. Based on this data in the future, it is believed that effective operation of the after-school beauty education program will be needed to enhance the quality and satisfaction of beauty education.

Analysis of Mistakes Made in Using Loan Words in Domestic Hairstyling-related Academic Papers (국내 헤어 논문 외래어 오류 실태 분석)

  • This study attempted to improve the quality of hairstyling-related studies and provide basic data for future studies on hairstyling terms through analysis of cosmetology-related loan words used in hairstyling theses among recent cosmetology papers. For data collection to derive valid conclusions, the signatures of a total of 1,980 academic papers collected after typing in the keyword 'Hair' at the Research Information Sharing Service (http://www.riss.kr) were analyzed. The results show that researchers in hairstyling seem not to pay close attention to the correct use of foreign loan words. Therefore, the study results would be very helpful to the development of future cosmetology studies. The correct notation and use of foreign loanwords should be further encouraged.

Effects of Emotional Labor of Hairdresser on Job Burnout and Turnover Intention (헤어 미용사들의 감정노동이 직무소진과 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand how emotional labor of hairdresser effects job burnout and turnover intention. In order to achieve this study, the data is collected from questionnaires distributed to employees of beauty shops of Gwangju and Jeonam using convenience sampling method. A total of 356 questionnaires were used for the research. Survey data is analyzed by SPSS win 21.0 program. The research findings are as follows. First, the emotional labor of hairdresser is classified by the surface action and deep action. Also, job burnout of hairdresser is classified by the emotional exhaustion, reduced personal accomplishment and depersonalization. Second, the effect of emotional labor of hairdressers on job burnout have the significant influence. Third, the effect of emotional labor of hairdressers on turnover intention have the significant influence. Fourth, the effect of job burnout of hairdressers on turnover intention have the significant influence. These results suggest that programs to lower emotional labor should be focused on developments to improve the quality of beauty services.

Plastic surgery experience and addiction of female college students (20대 여성의 미용성형 경험과 수용성)

  • 본 연구에서는 20대 여성의 미용성형 경험과 미용성형수술 수용성(ACS)의 관계와 영향요인을 조사하였다. 무작위 표집한 20대 여성 330명을 대상으로 2017년 11월에 자료 수집을 하였다. 수집된 자료는 서술적 통계, t-test, crosstabs, chi-square test, ANOVA, correlation, binary logistic regression으로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 97.9%는 미용성형의 부작용에 대해 들어본 경험이 있었고, 정보원으로는 인터넷이 57.3%로 가장 많았다. 124명(37.6%)은 최소 1회 이상의 미용성형 경험이 있었고, 최초 성형을 한 연령은 21.81(${\pm}2.83$)세였다. ACS는 외모만족도와 음의 상관관계(r=-0.18, p=.001)가 있었다. 미용성형 경험 여부에 영향을 미치는 요인은 연령, ACS와 BMI였고, 변수들의 설명력은 28.9%였다. 연령이 1살이 높아질수록 미용성형 경험이 있을 확률이 1.17배 높아지고(OR=1.17, p=.002), ACS가 1점이 높아질수록 미용성형 경험이 있을 확률이 1.06배 높았으며(OR=1.06, p<.001), BMI 점수가 1점이 높아질수록 미용성형의 경험이 있을 확률이 0.84배 낮아졌다(OR=0.84, p<.001). 대상자의 심신건강을 위한 관련 정책을 위하여 점차 증가하는 20대 여성의 미용성형수술과 관련한 다양한 영향요인을 조사 등 후속연구를 제언한다.

Case Analyses of Cosmetology Education in Vocational High Schools (고등학교 미용과 교육 실태 사례 조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out the name of cosmetology department and to analyze the characteristics and curriculum of 4 selected cases. Interviews with 4 school the teachers have been done September through November, 2004. The number of cosmetology-teaching high schools, the characteristics of students, teachers and laboratories, and the curricula of the schools were analyzed. The results of this study were as follows; There were 16 vocational high schools had cosmetology department, called various names, mainly Dept. of Cosmetology or Dept. of Skin Cosmetology. All most of the students to major the Cosmetology were female and 16-74% continued education in colleges. Most of teachers had Cosmetology tearcher's certificate but 3 out of 22 teachers did not have. They thought 1-4 subjects for 17-18 hours for a week. Each school had 3-7 practical rooms. Students took 92-120 hours from major courses.

Study of Correlations Resilience of the Beauty Industry Employees and Job Satisfaction and Happiness Index (미용종사자의 회복탄력성과 행복지수 및 직무만족도의 상관관계연구)

  • The beauty industry relies heavier upon the specialized labor of beauty industry employees than any other industry. Beauty industry employees directly meet their clients and are required to provide services with extremely delicate care. The sense of happiness of employees working at the interface of service provision matters most importantly for beauty industry growth. In this study, the correlation among beauty industry employees' resilience, happiness index and job satisfaction was tested under hypotheses. As a result, their resilience was found to have a significant effect on happiness index and job satisfaction; happiness index, on job satisfaction and resilience; and job satisfaction, on resilience and happiness index. Consequentially, it was found that when individual happiness increased, their job satisfaction moved up along with job performance. In this sense, for the further development of beauty industry, it is deemed necessary to consider methods to improve the sense of happiness of beauty industry employees.

Factors Affecting Cosmetic Surgery Experience of Female College Students (여대생의 미용성형 경험에 미치는 영향요인)

  • This study examined the experience of cosmetic surgery and its related factors in order to establish the correct values for female college students' appearance. Data were collected from 283 female college students in Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Jeolla-do provinces, and analyzed by Chi-square test, T-test and Binary logistic regression using SPSS 18.0 program. As a result, the experience rate of cosmetic surgery was 66.1%, and the experience of cosmetic surgery was high as the grade was increased. The most common source of information was 'family and people around' at 45.9%, and the cosmetic surgery type 'eye surgery' was the highest at 25.8%. Appearance of interest and cosmetic surgery recognition were higher than those who had no cosmetic surgery experience. Factors related to cosmetic surgery experience were grade, allowance, and appearance interest. It is necessary to prepare basic data on cosmetic information and to develop a program to establish proper beauty values, and education and counseling to make rational decisions about cosmetic surgery will be required.

Analysis of Hairdressing Technique Patent Trends (헤어미용 기술에 대한 특허동향 연구)

  • This study classified hairdressing techniques into hairdressing equipment, beauty/care, and styling and investigated current trends in patent applications. In addition, it analyzed what aspects should be concentrated on in terms of future hairdressing techniques and their growth potential. The results found the following: Hairdressing techniques have been on the rise since 1990 in terms of patent activities. In particular, they have been most active in 'electric hairdressing equipment such as hair dryers and hair straighteners. According to analysis of applicants' application trends, technique leaders were different by sector. In hairdressing techniques, in other words, expertise should be developed by sector. It is anticipated that this study would facilitate and expand the hairdressing market by analyzing hairdressing technique patent trends and establishing future directions for R&D in hairdressing techniques.
