자녀의 학업성취에 미치는 가족배경, 사회자본 및 문화자본의 영향

  • 본 연구에서는 부모의 사회경제적 지위가 자녀의 학업성취를 통해 재생산되도록 만드는 변수들의 영향을 밝히려고 하였다. 가족의 사회경제적 변수, 극히 사회자본과 문화자본이 독립적으로 또는 가족배경을 맥락으로 자녀의 학업성취도에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석하였다. 연구대상으로는 중고등학생 총 2771명의 사례를 분석하였다. 중학생에 비해 고등학생들의 학업성취에 미치는 부모의 사회경제적 배경변수의 영향력은 감소하였다. 그러나 사회자본과 문화자본의 영향력은 증가하였다. 성별에 따라 분석한 결과, 남학생의 경우는 부모의 사회경제적 변수와 가족의 사회자본과 문화자본의 영향력이 동시에 존재하나 여학생의 경우에는 사회자본과 문화자본의 영향이 거의 없고, 부모의 사회경제적 변수 중에서 아버지의 직업과 자산이 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 사회자본과 문화자본의 영향력은 상당부분 부모의 사회경제적 자원에 흡수되는 경향이 있으나 가족의 자녀에 대한 관심은 여전히 학업성취도에 중요한 영향을 미치는 사회자본임을 발견하였다. 이번 연구결과를 통해 경제적 지원만으로는 자녀의 학업성취를 높이기 어려우며 사회자본이나 문화자본과 함께 결합된 사회경제적 지원이 자녀의 학업성취에 기여함을 발견하였다.

Sociological Approach of Wood Culture (사회학적 측면에서의 목재문화에 관한 연구)

  • Wood-culture is new paradigm which is substituted for the cement culture, and the study of wood-culture should keep pace with not only the study of a engineering science but also a sociological study to form a theory system. The purpose of this study is to suggest the method of sociological approach of the wood culture which have not yet tried at home and abroad; in view of structural-functionalism, systemical-functionalism, conflict theory, social-change theory by analyzing cases in Korea. In view of structural-functionalism, social system consists of cognition system, institution system, life system and technology system. These sub-systems fulfill the function of what-should-be, reasonability, reality and development. In view of systemical-functionalism, according to the acknowledgment and spreading proccess of the wood usefulness, wood culture system consists of the individual system, organizational system and the social system. In view of conflict theory, the society which has the wood culture can be classified into three types. The one is society which the traditional wood culture is declining and the cement culture is spreading. The other one is society which the cement culture is declining and the traditional wood culture is spreading. Another is Finally the society which the two type balance with. In view of social-change theory, the society can be classified into three types. The one is society which the wood culture is proceeding to the cement culture. The other is society which the cement culture is proceeding to the wood culture. Another is society which the wood culture changes itself. Finally, from a view of changing level, the society can be classified into three types: the micro-change, the middle-level-change, and the macro-change. It's need to study wood culture systemically in view of engineering and sociological science. And then it will be possible to make 'wood culture theory system'.

Effects of Organizational Culture on Social Capital in Social Welfare Organizations (사회복지기관의 조직문화가 사회자본에 미치는 영향)

  • Prior research has shown empirically that organizational culture and social capital are as a critical factor determining organizational effectiveness. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of social welfare's organizational culture on the social capital. For the research, social capital was consisted of trust, norms and network, and organizational culture was measured by Kimberly & Quinn's competing value model. The results of this study were summarized as follows: Mean analyses showed that social workers perceived the level of organizational culture and social capital had a higher than medium. Especially, group culture had a strong positive effects on the social capital. This study finally discussed theoretical implications for future study and practical implications for social capital strategies on the results.

  • This paper explores whether there is significant difference or not in the empowerment of social workers, e.g. individual's business-oriented, business relationship, and compensation system, according to the organizational culture types of social welfare facilities such as community culture, development culture, hierarchical culture, and reasonableness culture. By means of survey, this research targeted the social workers of social welfare facilities. The culture types that social workers recognize are sorted into community culture, development culture, hierarchy culture, and reasonableness culture according to the division of Kimberly and Quinn (1984). This study shows that there is significant difference in individual’s business-oriented, business relationship, and compensation system according to the type of organization culture.

  • The purpose of study was to determine the differences in organizational culture between social enterprises and commercial enterprises and assess the impact on organizational performance in Korea. Main results are as follows. First, Social enterprises employ a lot of low-imcome women and the elderly worker. Second, rational culture is high in profit businesses, but cultural group is high in social enterprises. In commercial enterprise, productivity and efficiency, planning and goal setting, assessing goals and looking for the evaluation of the performance are important. and in social enterprise, affinity and participation, employees individual development and group morale and cohesion, emphasis on mutual cooperation and trust are important. In addition, both social performance and economic performance, social enterprises are higher than in commercial enterprises. Social enterprises are operating transparently based on workers participation and understanding is expected that economic performance is also highly recognized. Third, social performance is higher development and group culture are higher in commercial enterprises, and development, group and hierarchy culture are higher in social enterprises. Economic performance is higher reasonal culture is lower in commercial enterprises, and group culture is higher in social enterprises. Therefore, the social enterprise workers are recognizing social and economic performance are higher than commercial enterprise workers. In short, social enterprises is making discriminatory organizational culture, and this is contributing to achieving organizational performance.

  • This study is to investigate the mediating effects of social support on the relationship between acculturative stress and mental health of multicultural youth. The results of the study were as follows: 1.573 of the 4th(middle 1) to 6th(middle 3) of the multicultural youth panel were analyzed by AMOS 22.0. First, the acculturation stress of multicultural youths had a positive effect on mental health. Second, acculturation stress of multicultural youths had a negative effect on social support. Third, social support of multicultural youths had a negative effect on mental health. Fourth, social support of multicultural youths had a mediating effect on the effect of acculturation stress on mental health. This result shows that the stress of multicultural youths in the process of adapting to the dual culture negatively affects social support, and this social support has a positive effect on the mental health of multicultural youths.

  • 한반도 지역의 장묘 문화와 고려장의 유래를 살펴본다. 삼국시대로부터 고려사회에 이르기까지는 주로 불교문화의 영향을 받아왔고, 그 후 조선사회에 들어와서 우리 민족은 유교문화에 깊은 관계를 형성하여 왔다. 그러므로 오늘의 우리사회에서도 곳곳에서 유교문화의 깊은 뿌리를 찾아볼 수 있으며, 아직도 우리의 생활문화에서 유교적 관행이나 생활관습을 흔히 느껴볼 수 있다. 이러한 종교 사회적 문화 배경이나 충효사상으로 무장된 우리의 사회상을 살펴볼 때 과연 우리가 전해들은 고려장 문화가 실존적인 것인지에 대하여는 강한 의문과 부정적 사고를 떨쳐 버릴 수 없다. 또한 초식을 즐겨하는 우리 식생활 문화로부터 그들의 온순한 성격이 형성되어 왔던 민족 사회적 정서를 살펴볼 때에도 부모나 가족의 연장자가 늙고 병들었다고 하여 그들을 쉽게 버리고 남은 가족들끼리 편안한 마음으로 살아갈 수 있을까(?)에는 역시 강한 의문점을 뗄 수가 없다. 한국동굴학회의 사업계획에 따라, 중국 길림성 연변조선족자치주 화룡시 근교의 충천계곡(골) 자연동굴을 탐사하고, 고려장 굴이라고 전해오는 석실무덤을 답사하였다.

A Study on the Antecedent Factors Affecting Helping Professions' Cultural Competence - Focusing on Social Workers, Teachers, Nurses, and Social Work Civil Servants - (원조전문직의 문화적 역량 선행요인에 관한 연구 - 사회복지사, 교사, 간호사, 사회복지공무원을 중심으로 -)

  • This study examines the present conditions and antecedent factors affecting helping professions' cultural competence, focusing on such groups as social workers, teachers, nurses, and social work civil servants. The analysis of data shows that teachers' cultural competence is the highest, social workers, social work civil servants, and nurses are descending order. The study also found significant antecedent factors: (1)individual antecedent factors are age, education, and foreign language skill; (2)work-related antecedent factors are multicultural working hours and working duration; (3)organizational antecedent factors are education/training and organizational support. Finally, the study suggests policy directions and practical implications for enhancing cultural competence.
