Improving target recognition of active sonar multi-layer processor through deep learning of a small amounts of imbalanced data (소수 불균형 데이터의 심층학습을 통한 능동소나 다층처리기의 표적 인식성 개선)

  • Active sonar transmits sound waves to detect covertly maneuvering underwater objects and detects the signals reflected back from the target. However, in addition to the target's echo, the active sonar's received signal is mixed with seafloor, sea surface reverberation, biological noise, and other noise, making target recognition difficult. Conventional techniques for detecting signals above a threshold not only cause false detections or miss targets depending on the set threshold, but also have the problem of having to set an appropriate threshold for various underwater environments. To overcome this, research has been conducted on automatic calculation of threshold values through techniques such as Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR) and application of advanced tracking filters and association techniques, but there are limitations in environments where a significant number of detections occur. As deep learning technology has recently developed, efforts have been made to apply it in the field of underwater target detection, but it is very difficult to acquire active sonar data for discriminator learning, so not only is the data rare, but there are only a very small number of targets and a relatively large number of non-targets. There are difficulties due to the imbalance of data. In this paper, the image of the energy distribution of the detection signal is used, and a classifier is learned in a way that takes into account the imbalance of the data to distinguish between targets and non-targets and added to the existing technique. Through the proposed technique, target misclassification was minimized and non-targets were eliminated, making target recognition easier for active sonar operators. And the effectiveness of the proposed technique was verified through sea experiment data obtained in the East Sea.

  • IALA Waterway Risk Assesment(IWRAP)에서 선박의 충돌확률은 기하학적인 선박의충돌확률(geomatric probability)에 인과관계 확률(causation probability) 곱한 값으로 해당수역의 양적인 충돌확률 평가에 이용되고 있다. 이를 통해 목포대교부근에 통항하는 선박의 선종별 충돌확률 및 입출항 선박 전체 충돌 확률 값을 분석하고자 한다.

  • Applications of thresholding technique are based on the assumption that object and background pixels in a digital image can be distinguished by their gray level values. For the segmentation of more complex images, it is necessary to resort to multiple threshold selection techniques. This paper describes a new method for multiple threshold selection of gray level images which are not clearly distinguishable from the background. The proposed method consists of three main stages. In the first stage, a probability distribution function for a gray level histogram of an image is derived. Cluster points are defined according to the probability distribution function. In the second stage, fuzzy partition matrix of the probability distribution function is generated through the fuzzy clustering process. Finally, elements of the fuzzy partition matrix are classified as clusters according to gray level values by using max-membership method. Boundary values of classified clusters are selected as multiple threshold. In order to verify the performance of the developed algorithm, automatic inspection process of ball grid array is presented.

  • The aim of 4G mobile communication systems is to connect arbitrary devices to high-speed network anytime, anywhere. Cellular system must solve the problem of inter-cell interference caused by frequency reuse for meeting needs of 4G. In this paper, to solve interference problem we propose the algorithm, the so-called Threshold-Based Region Decision (TBRD) and analyze characteristics and performance of the proposed algorithm through simulation. The proposed technique has high applicability and flexibility due to simple construction using only existing UE measurement, and achieves performance improvement through the threshold that can be easily controlled.

Influence on Short Channel Effects by Tunneling for Nano structure Double Gate MOSFET (나노구조 이중게이트 MOSFET에서 터널링이 단채널효과에 미치는 영향)

  • The double gate(DG) MOSFET is a promising candidate to further extend the CMOS scaling and provide better control of short channel effect(SCE). DGMOSFETs, having ultra thin undoped Si channel for SCEs control, ale being validated for sub-20nm scaling. A novel analytical transport model for the subthreshold mode of DGMOSFETs is proposed in this paper. The model enables analysis of short channel effect such as the subthreshold swing(SS), the threshold voltage roil-off$({\Delta}V_{th})$ and the drain induced barrier lowering(DIBL). The proposed model includes the effects of thermionic emission and quantum tunneling of carriers through the source-drain barrier. An approximative solution of the 2D Poisson equation is used for the distribution of electric potential, and Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin approximation is used for the tunneling probability. The new model is used to investigate the subthreshold characteristics of a double gate MOSFET having the gate length in the nanometer range $(5-20{\sim}nm)$ with ultra thin gate oxide and channel thickness. The model is verified by comparing the subthreshold swing and the threshold voltage roll-off with 2D numerical simulations. The proposed model is used to design contours for gate length, channel thickness, and gate oxide thickness.

Issues in Air Pollution Epidemiologic Studies (대기오염 역학연구의 주요 쟁점들)

  • The purpose of this review is to discuss the debate concerning the interpretation of epidemiologic studies on particles and health effects. Study of the 1952 air pollution disaster in London established that very high levels of particulate-based smog can cause dramatic increases in daily mortality. However, recent epidemiologic studies have reported statistically significant health effects and mortality due to low levels of air pollution. The statistical significance does not prove causation in observational studies; therefore it is necessary to evaluate these associations. There are arguments for and against each of the numerous studies using Hill's criteria, however the body of accepted evidence supports the causal association. In particular, a high level of consistency in the estimated effect of PM10 has been observed across studies worldwide. The mechanism of the relationship between air pollution and health effects is not obvious. The mechanism of particle-induced injury may involve the production of an inflammatory response by the particulate. The harvesting and the threshold effect are also major concerns regarding the health effects of air pollution. However, current epidemiologic findings indicate that linear models lacking a threshold are appropriate for assessing the effect of particulate air pollution on daily mortality even at current levels.

  • 이 논문은 실내에서 로봇의 주행 시 생기는 오차를 수정하는 것이다. 실내에 있는 장애물(문턱)을 넘을 경우 슬립에 의하여 주행거리와 실제거리의 오차가 생기고 또한 헤드 앵글 값이 변화함에 따라서 차후 엄청난 주행 오차를 발생시키게 된다. 그에 따라 PSD 센서를 이용하여 장애물을 감지하고 감지 후 장애물을 넘을 수 있도록 모터를 제어한다. 또한 PSD를 이용하여 장애물의 크기를 계산한 후 로봇이 장애물을 넘는 동안에 엔코더 값을 받아 들여서 장애물을 넘는 동안에 로봇이 실제 이동한 거리를 측정한다. 그리고 장애물을 넘은 후에 PSD로 계산한 장애물의 크기 값과 엔코더에서 받아들인 값을 비교하여 거리오차를 수정한다. 또한 전자컴퍼스를 이용하여 장애물을 넘기 전에 로봇의 헤드 앵글 값을 구하고, 장애물을 넘은 후에 로봇의 헤드 앵글 값을 구하여 두 개의 값을 비교한다. 두 개의 값의 차이를 측정하여 수정함으로써 헤드 앵글을 오차를 수정할 수 있다.

  • a-Si(amorphous silicon) TFT(thin film transistor)는 TFT-LCD(liquid crystal display)의 화소 스위칭(switching) 소자로 폭넓게 이용되고 있다. 현재는 a-Si을 이용하여 gate drive IC를 기판에 집적하는 ASG(amorphous silicon gate) 기술이 연구, 적용되고 있는데 이때 가장 큰 제약은 문턱 전압(Vth)의 이동이다. 특히 고온에서는 문턱 전압의(Vth) 이동이 가속화 되고, Ioff current가 증가 하게 되고, 저온($0^{\circ}C$)에서는 전류 구동능력이 상온($25^{\circ}C$) 상태에서 같은 게이트 전압(Vg)에 대해서 50% 수준으로 감소하게 된다. 특히 ASG 회로는 여러 개의 TFT로 구성되는데, 각각의 TFT가 고온에서 Vth shift 값이 다르게 되어 설계시 예상하지 못 한 고온에서의 화면 무너짐 현상 즉 고온 노이즈 불량이 발생 할 수 있다. 고온 노이즈 불량은 고온에서의 각 TFT의 문턱전압 및 $I_D-V_G$ 특성을 측정한 결과 고온 노이즈 불량에 영향을 주는 인자가 TFT의 width와 기생 capacitor비 hold TFT width가 영향을 주는 것으로 실험 및 시뮬레이션 결과 확인이 되었다. 발생 mechanism은 ASG 회로는 AC 구동을 하기 때문에 Voff 전위에 ripple이 발생 되는데 특히 고온에서 ripple이 크게 증가 하여 출력 signal에 영향을 주어 불량이 발생하는 것을 규명하였다.

New Method for Elimination of Comparator Offset Using the Fowler-Nordheim Stresses (Fowler-Nordheim 스트레스에 의한 MOS 문턱전압 이동현상을 응용한 비교기 옵셋 제거방법)

  • In this paper proposed a new method which adaptively eliminates comparator offsets using the threshold voltage shift by the Fowler-Nordheim stress. The method evaluates the sign of comparator offset and gives the FN stress to the stronger MOSFETs of the comparator, leading to offset reduction. We have used an appropriate stressing operation, named 'stress-packet', in order to converge the offset value to zero. We applied the method to the latch-type comparator which is prevalently used for DRAM bitline sense amplifier, and verified through experiments that offsets of the latch-type comparators are nearly eliminated with the stress-packet operations. We also discuss about the reliability issues that must be guaranteed for field application of this method.

Ultraviolet (UV)Ray 후처리를 통한 InGaZnO 박막 트랜지스터의 전기적 특성변화에 대한 연구

  • RF 스퍼터링 방법을 이용하여 제작된 IGZO 박막 트랜지스터 및 단막을 제조하여 UV처리 유무에 따른 전기적 특성을 평가하였다. IGZO 박막 트랜지스터는 Bottom gate 구조로 제조되었으며 UV처리 이후 전계효과 이동도, 문턱전압 이하 기울기 값등 모든 전기적 특성이 개선된 것을 확인 하였다. 이후 UV처리에 따른 소자의 전기적 특성 개선에 대한 원인을 분석하기위해 물리적, 전기적, 광학적 분석을 실시하였다. XRD분석을 통해 UV처리 유무에 따른 IGZO박막의 물리적 구조 변화를 관찰했지만 IGZO박막은 UV처리 유무에 상관없이 물리적 구조를 갖지 않는 비정질 상태를 보였다. IGZO 박막 트랜지스터의 문턱전압 이하의 기울기 값과을 통하여 반도체 내부에 존재하는 결함의 양을 계산한 결과 UV를 조사하였을 때 결함의 양이 감소하는 결과를 얻었으며 이 결과는 SE를 통해 밴드갭 이하 결함부분을 측정하였을 때와 같은 결과였다. 또한 UV처리 전에는 shallow level defect, deep level defect등의 넓은 준위에서 결함이 발견된 반면 UV처리 이후에는 deep level defect준위는 없어지고 shallow level defect준위 역시 급격하게 감소한 것을 볼 수 있었다. 결과적으로 IGZO 박막의 경우 UV처리를 함에 따라 결함의 양이 감소하여 IGZO박막 트랜지스터의 전계 효과 이동도를 증가 시킬 뿐 아니라 문턱전압 이하 기울기 값을 감소시키는 원인으로 작용하게 된다는 결과를 도출하였다.
