  • Recently, there have been many attempts to monitor the equipment's condition or the input devices in sensors remotely by using cable and wireless communications. Also, the research and development on this matter has been actively carried on. In this paper, we developed the monitoring system which will eliminate the errors of manual reading by humans and therefore will secure reliability between tenants and the building management office. Through the system, the private telecommunication network can be connected between the building management office and the households. This enables the control office to remotely read the electric meter and exact energy consumption of each household even when the tenants are absent.

  • Recently, a health care need according to the increase of an advanced age population is increasing. The requirement about a health care monitoring is increasing rapidly from general people as well as patient. The requisition about a medical treatment technique and a medical treatment information service is the trend to be expanding. That can be possible minimizing the inconvenience of the patient to take a medical service and continuously monitoring the status of the patient to take a health care service. This paper discusses an implementation of wireless physiological signal monitoring system for health care. The system are composed of the sensor node and monitoring program. The sensor node has the physiological signal measurement part and the wireless communication part. The remote monitoring system has a monitoring program that are communicating the sensor node using bluetooth. The sensor node measured the ECG, pulse wave, blood pressure, Sp02, and heart rate.

  • In case of display a lot of information from mobile devices, those systems are being developed that display the information from mobile devices on remote devices such as TV using the mobile devices as remote controllers because it is difficult to display a lot of information on mobile devices due to their limited bandwidth and small screen sizes. A lot of cost is required to design and develop interfaces for these systems corresponding to each of remote display devices. In this paper, a mobile environment based remote display system for displays at real times is proposed for continuous monitoring of status data for unique 'Mote IDs'. Also, remote data are collected and monitored through sensor network devices such as ZigbeX by applying status perception based remote displays at real times through processing ubiquitous computing environment data, and remote display applications at real times are implemented through PDA wireless mobiles. The system proposed in this paper consists of a PDA for remote display and control, mote embedded applications programming for data collections and radio frequency, server modules to analyze and process collected data and virtual prototyping for monitoring and controls by virtual machines. The result of the implementations indicates that this system not only provides a good mobility from a human oriented viewpoint and a good usability of accesses to information but also transmits data efficiently.

  • 본 논문에서는 가정에서 사용되는 검침 가능한 유틸리티의 원격검침을 위한 전자식 원격검침기의 구현과 지그비 및 LabVIEW를 활용한 모니터링 시스템 구축을 목표로 한다. 가정에 공급되는 유틸리티의 검침방법은 대부분 검침원에 의한 개별방문을 통하여 이루어지고 있어 방문검침 방식에 따른 민원발생과 검침데이터의 정확성 문제, 가정보안 문제 등으로 인하여 효율적으로 검침이 이루어지지 않는 실정이다. 이러한 문제점을 해소하기 위해서 지그비 및 LabVIEW를 활용하여 원격검침하게 되면 검침 데이터에 대한 신뢰성문제, 인건비 절약, 가정 보안문제가 해결될 뿐만 아니라 U-city구축에도 일조를 할 것으로 기대된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 지그비를 활용한 무선원격검침 시스템 구축과 LabVIEW를 이용한 데이터 모니터링 환경을 구축하여 향후의 검침 지능화를 위한 토대를 마련하였다.

  • Based on the rapid development of IT technology and deployment of the Internet through high speed networks, network environments have been changed from office oriented environment based on business industries and public institution even to the interconnection to digital electronics in the home network. Home network based applications are very diverse and the remote monitoring and control areas have been studied. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of real time remote video monitoring system which provide the moving pictures on the web page through the Internet using JMFI. In addition, we present the design of remote light control system based on Zigbee.

  • 일상생활에서 사용되는 홈기기들을 원격조정 할 수 있는 것은 매우 흥미롭다. 하지만 우리 생활과 밀접한 기기이므로 더욱 더 안전성을 중요시해야 한다. 이 분야에 대한 연구가 활발히 되면서 점차 무선 통신을 이용하여 가정 내의 각종 기기들을 제어 및 모니터링 하고자 한다. 이는 생활의 편리성을 제공하는 반면에, 이기종망간의 연동 및 무선의 특성으로 인해 보안의 취약성이 노출되기 쉽고, 홈 망의 복잡성으로 인해 다양한 요구사항들이 필요하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 가정 내 다양한 기기들의 원격 제어 및 모니터링을 안전하게 서비스할 수 있는 메커니즘을 분석한다.

  • Recently, with the development of the 4th industry, environmental issues such as air pollution have become serious, and in particular, a lot of air pollutants are generated in industrial sites. There are various types of air pollutants, and among them, carbon monoxide is essential for fires occurring in industrial sites, so it should be possible to monitor in real time. In addition, there is a need for a remote monitoring system that can measure various environmental factors other than air pollutants in real time. In this paper, we propose a monitoring system using wireless communication to remotely measure the industrial environment. The proposed monitoring system collects data to the Arduino of the transmitter by using a carbon monoxide sensor, a combustible gas sensor, a temperature and humidity sensor, and a flame sensor, and then transmits it to the receiver using ZigBee. The transmitted data is stored in the database of the receiver Raspberry Pi, and the stored data can be monitored in real time through the monitoring system.

  • Tele-medicine and emergency medical system are necessary for moving from an accidental point or far distance to a hospital and emergency treatment or home treatment before a hospital. Emergency treatment is extremely important in the case of death before arriving a hospital and deformed of disabled by medical treatment delay. A necessary element for this medical system is the emergency communication system. This system is on preparing for an ability of furnishing patient status to a corresponding health service by monitoring the patient at an ambulance of the accident place. This is the transportation of basic biological information of a patient to a medical center by wireless communication system and the corresponding hospital of medical center examine the patient by monitoring, then they can send emergency medical order to the patient for emergency treatment. The TRS is most efficient way of emergency medical communication system, which is currently used with popularity. In this paper studied simultaneously a way of detecting and transporting bio-logical signals, and monitoring of transporting data with communication of voice in the accident place of ambulance.

Hallym Jikimi: A Remote Monitoring System for Daily Activities of Elders Living Alone (한림 지킴이: 독거노인 일상 활동 원격 모니터링 시스템)

  • This paper describes a remote system to monitor the circadian behavioral patterns of elders who live alone. The proposed system was designed and implemented to provide more conveniently and reliably the required functionalities of a remote monitoring system for elders based on the development of first phase prototype[2]. The developed system is composed of an in-house sensing system and a server system. The in-house sensing system is a set of wireless sensor nodes which have pyroelectric infrared (PIR) sensor to detect a motion of elder. Each sensing node sends its detection signal to a home gateway via wireless link. The home gateway stores the received signals into a remote database. The server system is composed of a database server and a web server, which provides web-based monitoring system to caregivers (friends, family and social workers) for more cost effective intelligent care service. The improved second phase system can provide 'automatic diagnosis', 'going out detection', and enhanced user interface functionalities. We have evaluated the first and second phase monitoring systems from real field experiments of 3/4 months continuous operation with installation of 9/15 elders' houses, respectively. The experimental results show the promising possibilities to estimate the behavioral patterns and the current status of elder even though the simplicity of sensing capability.
