  • The advancement of cloud and big data and the considerable growth of traffic have increased the complexity and problems in the management inefficiency of existing networks. The software-defined networking (SDN) environment has been developed to solve this problem. SDN enables us to control network equipment through programming by separating the transmission and control functions of the equipment. Accordingly, several studies have been conducted to improve the performance of SDN controllers, such as the method of connecting existing legacy equipment with SDN, the packet management method for efficient data communication, and the method of distributing controller load in a centralized architecture. However, there is insufficient research on the control of SDN in terms of the quality of network-using applications. To support the establishment and change of the routing paths that meet the required network service quality, we require a mechanism to identify network requirements based on a contract for application network service quality and to collect information about the current network status and identify the violations of network service quality. This study proposes a method of identifying the quality violations of network paths through ontology to ensure the network service quality of applications and provide efficient services in an SDN environment.

  • Wireless mesh networks contain multi-hop routing protocols between wireless nodes and are connected to the Internet through a gateway. These networks perform a role as a backbone and are scalable for main applications. We propose the design of QoS supporting mechanisms for wireless mesh networks using software defined networking. Our proposed scheme is cost-effective and features adaptive QoS mechanisms for wireless router's resource constraints. The QoS mechanisms use software defined networking technology with Openflow protocol based on diffserv and intserv models with MPLS mechanism and RSVP respectively. A performance evaluation model is suggested to verify the validity of the proposed scheme using several QoSmetrics of the wireless mesh networks.

  • Service networks for the future communication networks will be combined by the B-ISDN networks. These service networks also will use SS No.7 as the signaling transport network for the control of user requriement service. Therefore, ITU-T recommended B-ISDN signaling layers for SS No.7 as a substitute for N-ISDN MTP signaling layer. In this paper, we propose the implementation structure and describe the characteristics and functions of each signaling layer of SS No.7, which are adapted to ATM switching system, and evaluate a performance. The structure of SSCOP transmission buffer using a linked list and an unit frame length is proposed for SAAL layer and the implementation structure and internal routing method according to the ATM switching system are also proposed for MTP-3b layer. Additionally, we propose the ISUP/B-ISUP level interworking structure using only associated mode, which are presented in the first stage of B-ISDN as the effective internatworking structure of SS No.7 for the circuit related signaling network between the existing N-ISDN networks and B-ISDN networks.

  • A way to increase productivity in agriculture that is labor-centered industry is to graft IT technology. Today, many technologies in ubiquitous computing are deployed in all areas of society such as traffic control, automotive manufacturing, construction, defence, healthcare and clinical services. These IT technologies is gaining more attention as a fusion technology among traditional industries. To successfully build ubiquitous agriculture environment, it needs optimized core technology development for agriculture that includes sensor node H/W, middleware platform, routing protocol and agriculture environment application services. To achieve accurate botany growth environment management, we propose a green growth environment management system using environmental factor monitoring sensor and biological information sensors in greenhouse. By using our proposed system, it is expected to realize fusion complex agriculture technology with low cost.

  • In industrial wireless sensor networks, many applications require integrated QoS supporting. This paper proposes a reliable protocol for real-time monitoring in industrial wireless sensor networks. Retransmission is well-known to recover the transmission failure, however, this might cause the time delay to violate the real-time requirement. The proposed protocol exploits broadcasting feature of wireless networks and the temporal opportunity concept. The opportunities to relay the data packets are shared by the broadcasting feature and the temporal opportunity concept maximize the number of candidates in communication. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol is superior to the existing real-time protocols in term of real-time service and reliability.

  • This paper proposes a group key management protocol for a secure of all the multicast user in PIM-SM multicast group communication. With prosed architect, subgroups for multicast secure group management will be divided by RP (Rendezvous-Point) unit and each RP has a subgroup manager. Each subgroup manager gives a secure key to it's own transmitter md the transmitter compress the data with it's own secure key from the subgroup manager. Before the transmitter send the data to receiver, the transmitter prepare to encrypt a user's service by sending a encryption key to the receiver though the secure channel, after choking the user's validity through the secure channel. As the transmitter sending a data after then, the architecture is designed that the receiver will decode the received data with the transmitter's group key. As a result, the transmitting time is shortened because there is no need to data translation by group key on data sending and the data transmition is possible without new key distribution at path change to SPT (Shortest Path Tree) of the router characteristic. Additionally, the whole architecture size is samller than the other multicast secure architecture by using the conventional PIM-SIM routing structure without any additional equipment.

  • In the next generation Internet(NGI) based on dense wavelength division multiplexing(DWDM) technology, QoS RWA considering various QoS parameters of DWDM networks is regard as one of the key issues in providing real-time multimedia services. However, finding a qualified path meeting multi-constraints is generally NP-complete problem. It is insufficient for QoS RWA researches in DWDM networks that must consider QoS parameter as well as wavelength-continuity constraint. This paper proposes qualified path routing (QPR) algorithm with minimum computation and implementation complexity based on flooding method to accomplish QoS routing and wavelength assignment (RWA). We also introduce a QoS-based RWA mechanism considering multi-constraint such as optical signal quality attributes, survivability and wavelength-continuity constraint combined with proposed routing algorithm. Simulation results show superior efficiency of the proposed algorithms in terms of blocking probability, routing overhead and survivability ratio.

  • We propose efficient mobility management schemes based on pointer forwarding for Proxy Mobile IPv6 Networks(PMIPv6) with the objective to reduce the overall network traffic incurred by mobility management and packet delivery. The proposed schemes are per-user-based, i.e., the optimal threshold of the forwarding chain length that minimizes the overall network traffic is dynamically determined for each individual mobile user, based on the user's specific mobility and service patterns. We demonstrate that there exists an optimal threshold of the forwarding chain length, given a set of parameters characterizing the specific mobility and service patterns of a mobile user. We also demonstrate that our schemes yield significantly better performance than schemes that apply a static threshold to all mobile users. A comparative analysis shows that our pointer forwarding schemes outperform routing-based mobility management protocols for PMIPv6.

  • In order to support the mobility of the wireless devices, at least two APs (Access Points) must be arranged in a single AP area to maintain communication area. In the WLAN (Wireless LAN) environment, seamless handover is one of the most important issues in terms of effective utilization of wireless networks and maximization of services for users. On the other hand, SDN (Software-Defined Networking), which is emerging rapidly in recent years, is revolutionizing network management in terms of flexibility, fine control, and convenience. SDN originally reduces latency time or increases network robustness by real-time flow table control reducing or bypassing paths between switches in LAN-based data centers. In this study, we apply OpenFlow, a SDN platform focused on wired LAN, to a dense WLAN environment using legacy APs to implement and evaluate seamless handover for streaming services of digital contents.
