Rapid growth in computer and digital-based technology has brought about changes in various human services including psychotherapy. This paper will look into one of these changes, focusing on a rising area of mental health therapy : Art therapy. Although development of art therapy is not so fast compared to other branches of psychotherapy, some art therapists are studying how to adopt and use it properly. Both art therapists and mental health experts have concluded that technology is a powerful tool despite its limitations and reservations. While some of them think that patients have benefited from the implementation of technology, others have felt concerns about the replacement of basic professional practices. The use of digital technology in the area of art therapy, however, continues to increase, encouraging patients to benefit from it in various therapeutic processes. This thesis therefore focuses on the analysis of literature related to digital art therapy published up to now. The following field study on Korean art therapists aims to examine the current practice of digital art therapy and discuss its feasibility and future. These two methods will contribute to enhancing the understanding of art therapy not only in theory but in practice and also suggest how digital art therapy may overcome limitations of conventional art therapy by exploiting its advantages. Furthermore, this study will present some clues on a possible new position of digital art therapy in the future. I hope that this analytical examination on digital art therapy will stimulate further discussion on this issue and particularly encourage more interdisciplinary work between art therapy and digital technology.
This study assessed the experience of telehealth digital art therapy with a phenomenological case study method based on the need for a psychotherapeutic intervention of caring for the psychological health of self-quarantined people before confirmed with COVID-19. The research participant was a 17-year-old adolescent (girl) from Canada, who participated in seven sessions in a structured telehealth digital art therapy program for 90~120 minutes per session while she was self-quarantining. The analysis of the data was conducted in the process of assessing significant statements through content analysis and drawing themes based on the researcher's pre-understanding and epoche. As a result, 34 themes were drawn, which were classified into 10 common theme clusters and finally into three theses, including "psychology and emotions during self-quarantine", "limitation of remote digital art therapy', and 'positiveness of remote digital art therapy." This study is the case study of telehealth digital art therapy conducted first with a self-quarantined person before confirmed with COVID-19, and at the center of the crisis of COVID-19, hopefully, this study would provide important implications for "psychological quarantine," active self-care for self-quarantined people's psychological health.
The purpose of this study was to explore whether PPAT drawing using an application can be developed on digital devices for game addicts. The PPAT drawing test is useful and reliable for verifying problem-solving skills in how people pick apples. As a result of this study, the over-immersion group scored lower than the average user group in the "problem Solving" category of the PPAT drawing test using the PPAT drawing applicaion on digital devices, and expressed by not reaching for apples, or by picking apples without reasonable support. The findings in this study suggest that the PPAT drawing test application on digital devices has significantly demonstrated its original purpose of 'problem resolution', as well as future psychotherapeutic interventions for Internet over-immersion subjects as well as users who are familiar with digital devices.
The old man has different characteristics than those which have ages. To experience a variety of different environments and has tendencies because. Therefore, all the old uniform to the progress of art therapy is not possible and when you feel the need for self-treatment is effective participation hayeoyaman looks. Art therapy through the medium of art to express the inner feelings that are kept on the image of the elderly because of the feelings that naturally help revealing, emotion plays a role in mitigating the crisis. Art therapy in the treatment of non-verbal means of means of self-defense, so receives less control is reduced. In addition, the opportunity to use art media sensation itself reduced stimulation of the elderly a sense of the way so you are valued as a very useful educational program.
Since the early 20th century, along with the interest and development of alternative psychotherapy, the field of art therapy has also been developed and expanded. In particular, the recent development of technology and the untact era brought about by the COVID-19 Pandemic is accelerating the development of new digital art therapy contents. Among them, the hot interest in virtual reality is raising expectations and questions about the effectiveness of psychotherapy given by new media beyond traditional art therapy. In this study, the characteristics of VRAT (Virtual Reality Art Therapy) content therapeutic factors were investigated through qualitative literature analysis based on the conceptual framework and therapeutic components of ETC (Expressive Therapies Continumm), an integrated art therapy theory. As a result of the study, VRAT contents showed mostly therapeutic factors in the left hemisphere that triggered the user's dynamic, perceptual, and cognitive factors, and the therapeutic factors in the right hemisphere, which focused on sensory, emotional, and symbolic factors, were relatively few. The reason seems to be due to the nature of the experimental stage, the absence of active intervention by the therapist and long-term session composition, and the fear, clumsiness, and unfamiliarity of users about VRAT in addition to the characteristics and technical limitations of the VRAT medium. The limitations of the study include the small number of documents to be analyzed and the insufficient form of current VRAT to be called art therapy. It is expected that the characteristics of the therapeutic factors of VRAT content media and environment derived as a result of this study will be usefully used for the appropriate development of VRAT content in the future.
The purpose of this study was to understand educational changes and effects of cognitive behavioral art therapy using the smart device. The participant of the study was a 4th grade of male elementary school student who had aggressiveness and impulsiveness with emotional instability. The study was conducted one to two times a week for six months with a total of 30 educational sessions. Among 80 minutes per session, 60 minutes of art therapy and 20 minutes of cognitive behavioral therapy were applied, and during the sessions, cognitive action art therapy (drawing and shaping activities), cognitive restructuring, behavioral modification, systemic dullness, social skills training, empathy and landscaping training were applied. For the numeral assessment, Traffic Anxiety Inventory for Children (TAIC), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and emotional instability measures were used. Research showed that cognitive behavioral art therapy using smart devices had the effect of positive emotional change in children with emotional anxiety, and based on this, future development directions including systematic instructional design, scientific analysis and feedback technologies were discussed.

For young children who are not spontaneous or not accurate in verbal communication of their emotions and experiences, drawing is a good means of expressing their status in mind and thus drawing analysis with chromatics is a traditional tool for art therapy. Recently, children enjoy digital drawing via painting tools thus there is a growing needs to develop an automatic digital drawing analysis tool based on chromatics and art therapy theory. In this paper, we propose such an analyzing tool based on dominant color analysis. Technically, we use ART2 clustering and fuzzy logic to understand the fuzziness of subjects' status of mind expressed in their digital drawings. The frequency of color usage is fuzzified with respect to the membership functions. After applying fuzzy logic to this fuzzified central vector, we determine the dominant color and supporting colors from the digital drawings and children's status of mind is then analyzed according to the color-personality relationships based on Alschuler and Hattwick's historical researches.
