SCORM based Reusability Strategy on Moving Picture Contents (SCORM 기반 동영상 콘텐츠의 재사용 전략)

  • Due to the advent of presumer and digital production of moving picture, a lot of UCC has been generated by editing the previous moving pictures in various way. It causes a lot of problems on copyright, duplication, and content. In reorganizing the contents, it is necessary to increase productivity and reusability by managing production pipeline systematically through the standardization of moving picture content. For this purpose, we try to develop the moving picture content management system that can manage all kinds of information on the production pipeline, based on SCORM of e-learning by considering production, publication and re-editing. Using the meta-data of content object, user and producer can easily search and reuse the contents. Hence, they can choose the contents object according to their preference and reproduce their own creative UCC by reorganizing and packaging the selected objects. The management of copyright by the unit of scene would solve the problem of copyright. The sequencing technique of SCORM as an interactive storytelling method makes it possible to produce individual contents by user's preference.

  • 최근 라이프 로그의 수집과 관리에 관련된 연구가 많이 진행 중에 있다. 또 핸드폰 카메라, 디지털 카메라, 캠코더 등의 발전으로 자신의 일상생활을 비디오로 저장하고, 인터넷을 통해 공유하는 사람도 증가하고 있다. 비디오 데이터는 많은 정보를 포함하고 있는 라이프 로그의 한 예로. 동영상의 촬영 및 수집이 활발해짐에 따라 동영상의 메타정보를 생성하고, 이를 이용해 동영상 검색과 관리에 이용하려는 연구들이 진행 중이다. 본 논문에서는 라이프 로그를 수집하고 수집된 동영상과 라이프 로그를 이용하여 의미정보를 추출하는 시스템을 제안한다. 의미정보란 사용자의 행동을 나타내는 정보로써 컴퓨터 사용, 식사, 집안일, 이동, 외출, 독서, 휴식, 일, 기타로 9가지의 의미정보를 추출한다. 제안하는 방법은 사용자로부터 GPS, 가속도센서, 캠코더를 이용해 실제 데이터를 수집하고, 전처리 과정을 통하여 특징을 추출한다. 이때 추출될 특징은 위치정보와 사용자의 상태정보 그리고 영상처리릍 통한 RGB와 HSL 색공간의 요소와 MPEG-7의 EHD(Edge Histogram Descriptor). CLD(Color Layout Descriptor)이다. 추출된 특징으로부터 사람 행동과 같은 불안정한 상황에서 강점을 보이는 확률모델 네트워크인 베이지안 네트워크를 이용하여 의미정보를 추출한다. 제안하는 방법의 유용성을 보이기 위해 실제 데이터를 수집하고 추론하고 10-Fold Cross-validation을 이용하여 데이터를 검증한다.

An Analysis of Multimedia Search Services Provided by Major Korean Search Portals (주요 포털들의 멀티미디어 검색 서비스 비교 분석)

  • This study aims to perform an evaluation of multimedia search services provided by major Korean search portals: Naver, Nate, Daum, Yahoo-Korea, Paran, and Google-Korea. These multimedia search services are evaluated in terms of the metadata of search results, search functionalities, searching methods, other functionalities, and display options. Every search portal offers image and video searching, whereas only Naver, Nate, and Daum offer music searching. Advanced searching methods and functions are mostly developed and supported in image and video searching rath than music searching. Naver, Nate, and Daum support various searching functions which search portals abroad have not developed. Google-Korea supports advanced searching functions. Search portals provide a limited number of metadata in search results. This study could contribute to the development and improvement of portal's multimedia search services.

  • Generally, a user uses briefly summarized video data and text information to search video contents. To provide fast and accurate search tool for video contents in the process of searching video contents, this study proposes a method to search video clips which was partitioned from video contents. To manage and control video contents and metadata, the proposed method creates structural information based on XML on a video and metadata, and saves the information into XML database. With the saved information, when a user try to search video contents, the results of user's query to retrieve video contents would be provided through creating Xpath which has class structure information. Based on the proposed method, an information retrieval system for video clips was designed and implemented.

A Video Information Management System for Supporting Caption- and Content-based Searches (주석 및 내용 기반 검색을 지원하는 동영상 정보 관리 시스템)

  • Generally, either caption-based search method or content-based search methods is used to retrieve video information. However, each search method has its limitations. Caption-based search is apt to lose consistency as for user's subjects, and content-based search is hard to extract general means. To enhance efficiency and correctness as for complementing each other, we propose the Integrated Video Data Model(IVDM) which integrates the two search methods, to device the model, we analyze video data and construct the structure of video information hierarchically. IVDM supports caption-based search as assigning meta-data by analyzing thematic-unit in the higher level, and also supports content-based search as extracting feature data by analyzing the content of video data in the lower level. We design Object-Oriented database schema of news video, based-on the IVDM. And we provide 4-type of queries and query processing algorithm to retrieve news video information.

  • This paper provides a state-of-the-art on multimedia metadata. After a brief introduction to multimedia metadata, the paper described and analyzed the main metadata initiatives. The results show that these initiatives described the bibliographic elements rather than metadata for contents representation. On the other hand, MPEG-7 covers a rich and detail aspects for representing the complete and consistent multimedia content.

  • 이 논문에서는 손상에서 복원 되었거나 기타 이유로 DVR 시스템의 관리에서 벗어난 파편화된 다채널 영상 파일들에 대한 다채널 영상 재생 기법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 영상에 매핑 된 메타데이터에 기반 하여 촬영 시간에 대응되는 올바른 시간적 위상에서 재생될 영상 파일을 실시간으로 불러오고, 재생이나 탐색 중에 시간을 동기화시키는 과정을 수행 한다. 그리고 오픈소스 영상 재생 API인 VLC Player를 활용하여 시스템을 설계 하였고, 구현한 시스템은 상용 DVR 시스템을 사용하지 않고도 다채널 영상 파일을 직관적으로 판독할 수 있는 환경을 제공한다.

Efficient Browsing Method based on Metadata of Video Contents (동영상 컨텐츠의 메타데이타에 기반한 효율적인 브라우징 기법)

  • The advancement of information technology along with the proliferation of communication and multimedia has increased the demand of digital contents. Video data of digital contents such as VOD, NOD, Digital Library, IPTV, and UCC are getting more permeated in various application fields. Video data have sequential characteristic besides providing the spatial and temporal information in its 3D format, making searching or browsing ineffective due to long turnaround time. In this paper, we suggest ATVC(Authoring Tool for Video Contents) for solving this issue. ATVC is a video editing tool that detects key frames using visual rhythm and insert metadata such as keywords into key frames via XML tagging. Visual rhythm is applied to map 3D spatial and temporal information to 2D information. Its processing speed is fast because it can get pixel information without IDCT, and it can classify edit-effects such as cut, wipe, and dissolve. Since XML data save key frame information via XML tag and keyword information, it can furnish efficient browsing.

  • With the rapid improvement of the internet and information technology, digital contents containing knowledge and information resource is circulated through the internet. A circulation system based on a standardized identifier is required to share this kind of information, generated from seminars and workshops conducted in the area of science and technology and saved in the form of digital video contents. The main objective of this study is on constructing an information circulation system based on the KOI identifier to effectively share the digital video contents produced from seminars and workshops related to the area of science and technology. Furthermore, the overview and status of a standardized identifier, and the functional aspects of the system such as the methods to apply the KOI identification system on the subject and its slides of digital video contents, a digital video contents management system, a centralized identifier management system, and the methods applied for the search of digital video metadata have been suggested to support construction of the information circulation system.

  • The purpose of the study was to develope e-Learning multimedia resource management system to support developing of e-Learning contents. This system is to create and manage multimedia resources like video, audio, and image more easily. We analyzed and redesigned media asset management system that would be used in broadcast, press, and industry. This system has SCORM metadata and is consisted of Windows 2003 server and RDBMS. The survey was conducted to investigate usability and satisfaction for the developed system.
