The purpose of this study is to grope for reading education methods and searchable reading of new student of D University. This study bring forth variety event of central library, adoption of reading education subject, induction of reading certification, draw up of must book catalogue, accrediting system of reading cultural studies, reading education via media, adoption of a required subject of reading, and so on for reading education methods.

For the sake of activating web-based reading education in the public libraries, This study examine the practical use of web-based reading education and research into its activation. Web-based reading, red the book at any time/where with librarian and user, is to achieve the goal of reading education. The methods are to set up Home page of reading education through Internet, to guide user in various web-based reading materials and reading planning at any time. In addition, It is to be completed interactive action such as book review, reading dicussion through E-mail, a bulletin board, chatting etc. with librarian or user.

This study investigated an actual condition of students' reading through the survey from 1,285 students in Jeollabuk-do and analysed the casual relationships which affect students' reading ability. 4 variables selected in this study are students' reading ability, reading environment, reading education and reading experiences. The results are as follow: the level of students' reading experience which means the number of books they read and time they consumed for reading is very low compared to the other variables. The reading level of elementary students is revealed higher than that of middle and high school students. The relationships among variables found out through the analysis are that reading education is influenced by reading environment, reading experience is affected by reading education and eventually reading ability is mainly affected by students' reading experience. Through these findings, this study proposed that expansion of students' reading experience and systematization of reading education are needed to strengthen their reading ability effectively.

어린이들은 독서 활동을 통해 새로운 지식을 얻고, 생활의 즐거움을 얻으며, 사고력을 증진시킬 수 있다. 이 때문에 학교에서는 독서교육을 강조하고 있고 정부에서도 모든 학교에 도서관 설치 운영 계획을 추진하고 있으며 사이버 도서관이 갖추어져 운영되고 있다. 사이버 도서관의 운영은 독서교육에 많은 도움을 주고 있으나 초등학교 어린이들이 즐겨 참여할 수 있고 독서 교육에 효율적인 구조로 운영되는 사이트를 찾기가 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 독서 활동에 자기 주도적으로 참여하면서 독서교육을 할 수 있는 독서활동 관리 시스템을 설계하고 구축한다.

The object of this study is to survey the private organizations which have issued the certificates according to the reading education, to describe the right curriculum for the private certificate, and to propose the proper subjects and curriculum for it. The results of the survey may be summarized as follows; 1) The private organizations which have issued the certificates are so many. 2) The certificates which have been issued are not to acquire the proper authorities' cachet. 3) The kinds of the certificate are reading instructor, reading therapist, reading couch, etc. 4) It's necessary for the chief organization to manage all of the organizations which have issued the reading education certificates. 5) It's thought that it's necessary to study more the subjects and curriculums as for the proper reading education certificates.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of reading education program for high school on students' self-esteem and reading attitude and satisfaction of students through the whole reading education process. The program that consists of 10 classes was developed and reading education was conducted. Through analysis of pre-post variance in self-esteem and reading attitude, effects of reading education has been proved. Also, satisfaction as evaluation about the whole reading education process was surveyed. As a result, it was found that reading education that uses program based on board game affects high school students' self-esteem and reading attitude, enhances reading attitude and promotes reading motivation.

The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of reading education of the specialized high schools for an alternative education. Among the specialized high schools for an alternative education, five schools were selected for the study. To achieve the study purpose, interviews were conducted with the teachers in charge of reading education of the schools. The interviews were recorded and transcribed. According to the study results, there have been attempts to integrate curriculum and reading education based on humanities. Students were actively participating in planning and conducting reading programs. Furthermore, there were Library Assisted Instructions. In order to proceed successfully with the reading education, there were several important factors as follows: 1)there was an organized system to support reading education by teachers, schools, and school libraries. 2)students' interests and needs were reflected in designing reading programs, 3)reading programs were adjusted according to students' needs and interests, and 4)reading activities were emphasized.

독서는 어린이에게 정신적 자양분을 제공하여 그들의 꿈과 희망을 일깨우고 삶의 이정표를 올바르게 제시해주는 교육행위이다. 이 글은 어린이들이 책을 읽고 그들의 생각을 밖으로 표출할 수 있는 독서행위를 독서교육과 독서교육지도사의 측면에서 조사하여 분석한 것이다. 어린이들이 책을 가까이 할 수 있는 동기유발과 독서 후 책 내용에 대한 감상을 자유스럽게 제시할 수 있는 방법으로서 독서게시판의 교육적 효과를 실증을 통해 제시하고자 한다.

This research purpose to investigate aspect of reading movement and readers' interest in the period of 2000's, This is succession research that is the Japanese Occupation Period, after release, the 1950s, the 1960s, the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s. Through such series, namly, reading phenomenon analyzing comparison, is to find present address of reading popularization movement and reading education. In main discourse, First, investigated reading movement, in the period of 2000's(1. the reading movement of library and public institution, 2. the reading movement of bookstore and medium, and several organization's, 3. student reading movement and school reading education). Second, readers' interest observed in the period of 2000's.(1. ordinary readers' interest, 2. student readers' interest). If we correct judgment about reading phenomenon from now. It will be foundation that unfold reading education more effectively.

In this paper, I studied on reading instruction in the school library. Reading instruction is a very important role of school library. And it is an essential element of school education. In this paper, I tried an application of constructivism for reading instruction. Information literacy instruction of school library includes reading instruction. So the pattern of information literacy instruction of school library was accepted as reading instruction pattern of school library in this paper. And then constructivism for learning principle and reading strategies as reading instruction was analyzed in this paper. Gerard J. Westhoff categorized reading strategies into 4 parts. I applied this categorization of reading strategies to the reading instruction pattern. And I analyzed and synthesized these relative constructivism elements and reading strategies for the reading instruction pattern in this paper.
