  • This study suggests a cooperation policy between public and school library. For the purpose of the objective, this research overviews cooperation theories, current situations of public and school libraries in Korea, and analyze cooperation methods and policies of them both Korea and foreign countries.

  • This study intends to develop a model of nation-wide library cooperative system for Korea. It analyzes and investigates the definitions, types and models of library cooperation; and current status and problems in operations of major cooperative systems in Korea and other nations. There are some cooperative systems such as cooperative system for public libraries operated by the National Library of Korea and other systems based on their regions or library types in Korea. New model of nationwide cooperative system can improve library functions through many cooperative plans.

  • This study reviewed the library cooperation of the National Library of Korea and regional public libraries in Korea, and analyzed the actual condition and cooperation program of public libraries in Incheon. The results of this study proposed some directions to improve cooperation among public libraries in Incheon as follows: to strengthen infrastructure of local public libraries; to build up the position of regional representative library and set up effective management of library policy organization authorities; to resolve the problems derived from multiple administrations and harmonize communications among public libraries; to appoint and administer strongpoint libraries; to specialize local libraries concerning characteristics; to expand and improve the existing library cooperative programs such as shared purchasing, interlibrary loan, preservation, cooperation with small libraries etc.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the mutual cooperations of school and public libraries in Japan, and to investigate the possibility of its application to Korea. To the end, discussed in details are the characteristics and limitations of cooperative activities between school and public libraries in Japan. The major contents of this study are as follows: First, analyzed are the present conditions of school libraries in Japan, with emphasis on human resources, facilities, and school library policies. Second, comprehensively investigated are the cooperation projects of school and public libraries which have been conducted by the central and local governments. Finally, discussed are the meanings of library cooperations in Japan and its implications for Korea.

  • Non-ideological information exchange and cooperation based on the scholarly and cultural fields would be the most effective project of south and north Korea for gaining the national homogeneity and trust in the long-term perspective. In this context, this study researched the measures on cultural exchange and cooperation between south and north through national libraries for the unified Korea. Related with that issue, this study analyzed function and limitation of national library in north Korea and evaluated library cooperation between south and north Korea in the frame of cultural cooperation project. So, this study suggested the stepwise model of the library cooperation between south and north based on the five practical measures including the cooperation governance system.

For this purpose, it analyzes and investigate theories, types and model of Library Cooperation; and current status and problems in operations of major Cooperative System in all library types.   • The purpose of this study is to investigate the cases of cooperation between school libraries and public libraries in order to reinforce their cooperation, and to prepare the base for development of school libraries. Data is collected through five workshops which attended school librarians, public librarians, and the peoples in the several regional offices of education. The results show three models of school and public library cooperation. School library - public library cooperation model is suited for metropolitan area where school library and public library are developed. Public library support model is suited for mid-size cities where school libraries are undeveloped. School library and public library integration model is suited for small towns where both school libraries and public libraries are undeveloped. These models, however, should be revised through testing several libraries and different situations.

  • 우리 협회는 국립중앙도서관으로부터 위탁받은 '도서관협력망 협력사업 표준모델 개발 연구' 용역사업을 2001년 6월부터 12월까지 6개월간 수행하여 12월 중순 국립중앙도서관에 보고서를 제출하였다. 본 연구결과를 널리 도서관계에 알려 향후 지속적인 협력사업 활성화를 위한 논의에 도움을 주고자 국립중앙도서관의 허락을 받아 이 연구결과의 결론부분을 본지에 재수록한다.

  • The goal of this study is to suggest the policy orientations of national library collaboration based on the analysis of three types of resource such as information, human, and space. For this research purpose, this study carried out the analyses of foreign cases, the related laws and national policy, case review of various cooperation by library types and resources. In the end, the three policy orientations are proposed for development of national library: sharing public values, securing specialized contents, and having leadership in the global network.

  • This study is supposed to institutionalization's strategies of information literacy instruction(LAI) and library assited instruction considering national level curriculum. The national level curriculum is composed five elements with subjects matter's goal, objects, instructional contents, teaching & learning method, evaluation. Supposed curriculum added cooperative system 'library and information use' subject between other subject, it composed of total 6 elements.
