Vulnerability Discovery Method Based on Control Protocol Fuzzing for a Railway SCADA System (제어프로토콜 퍼징 기반 열차제어시스템 취약점 검출 기법)

  • A railway SCADA system is a control systems that provide the trains with the electricity. A railway SCADA system sends commands to the RTUs(remote terminal unit) and then it gathers status information of the field devices in the RTUs or controls field devices connected with the RTUs. The RTU can controls input output modules directly, gathers the status information of the field devices connected with it, and send the information to the control center. In this way, a railway SCADA system monitors and controls the electricity power for running trains. The cyber attackers may use some vulnerabilities in the railway SCADA system software to attack critical infrastructures. The vulnerabilities might be created in the railway software development process. Therefore it need to detect and remove the vulnerabilities in the control system. In this paper we propose a new control protocol fuzzing method to detect the vulnerabilities in the DNP3 protocol based application running on VxWorks in RTU(Remote Terminal Unit) that is a component of the centralized traffic control system for railway. Debug-channel based fuzzing method is required to obtain process status information from the VxWorks.

  • One of the major trends of automotive networking architecture is the introduction of automotive Ethernet. Ethernet is already used in single automotive applications (e.g. to connect high-data-rate sources as video cameras), it is expected that the ongoing standardization at IEEE (IEEE802.3bw - 100BASE-T1, respectively IEEE P802.3bp - 1000BASE-T1) will lead to a much broader adoption in future. Those applications will not be limited to simple point-to-point connections, but may affect Electric/Electronic(EE) Architectures as a whole. It is agreed that IP based traffic via Ethernet could be secured by application of well-established IP security protocols (e.g., IPSec, TLS) combined with additional components like, e.g., automotive firewall or IDS. In the case of safety and real-time related applications on resource constraint devices, the IP based communication is not the favorite option to be used with complicated and performance demanding TLS or IPSec. Those applications will be foreseeable incorporate Layer-2 based communication protocols as, e.g., currently standardized at IEEE[13]. The present paper reflects the state-of-the-art communication concepts with respect to security and identifies architectural challenges and potential solutions for future Ethernet Switch-based EE-Architectures. It also gives an overview and provide insights into the ongoing security relevant standardization activities concerning automotive Ethernet. Furthermore, the properties of non-automotive Ethernet security mechanisms as, e.g., IEEE 802.1AE aka. MACsec or 802.1X Port-based Network Access Control, will be evaluated and the applicability for automotive applications will be assessed.

Towards a Pedestrian Emotion Model for Navigation Support (내비게이션 지원을 목적으로 한 보행자 감성모델의 구축)

  • For an emotion retrieval system implementation to support pedestrian navigation, coordinating the pedestrian emotion model with the system user's emotion is considered a key component. This study proposes a new method for capturing the user's model that corresponds to the pedestrian emotion model and examines the validity of the method. In the first phase, a database comprising a set of interior images that represent hypothetical destinations was developed. In the second phase, 10 subjects were recruited and asked to evaluate on navigation and satisfaction toward each interior image in five rounds of navigation experiments. In the last phase, the subjects' feedback data was used for of the pedestrian emotion model, which is called ‘learning' in this study. After evaluations by the subjects, the learning effect was analyzed by the following aspects: recall ratio, precision ratio, retrieval ranking, and satisfaction. Findings of the analysis verify that all four aspects significantly were improved after the learning. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of the learning algorithm for the proposed pedestrian emotion model. Furthermore, this study demonstrates the potential of such pedestrian emotion model to be well applicable in the development of various mobile contents service systems dealing with visual images such as commercial interiors in the future.

  • This paper presents the architecture and its function of Tool server. MPEG-21 will enable all-electronic creation, delivery and trade of digital multimedia content and transparent usage of various content types on network device. Therefore, we can provide access to information and services from almost anywhere at anytime with various terminals and networks. In order to support multimedia delivery chain that contains content creation, production, delivery and consumption, we need some elements to identify, describe, manage and protect the contents. Thus, we define Digital Item Processing(DIP), Digital Item Adaptation(DIA) server and Tool server as primary objects of MPEG-21 multimedia framework. DIP provides a function which creates and consumes Digital Item(DI) as a kind of a digital object by user. DIA server adapts the original DI to the usage environment description sent from the terminal and transmits the adapted DI to the terminal. Tool sewer searches for a tool requested from DIP or DIA and downloads the best tool to DIP or DIA server. In this paper, we present how Tool server is organized and is used among 2 primary objects. The paper is structured as following: Section 1 briefly describes why MPEG-21 is needed and what MPEG-21 wants. We see the basic architecture of tool server and its functionality by each module in section 2. Section 3 explains a scenario that tool server transmits tool to DIP or DIA. The paper concludes in section 4.

A Study on the Construction Plan of 3D Geotechnical Information for the Support of Underground Space Safety (지하안전관리 지원을 위한 3차원 지반정보 구축 방안 연구)

  • Recently, mainly in downtown, there have been frequent safety incidents in underground space like ground subsidence and land sinking. Out of diverse coping measures, the government is carrying forward the establishment of underground space integrated map. As a core element of the underground space integrated map, the 3D geotechnical information is used as major data of underground space impact assessment obliged in accordance with the "Special Act on the Safety Control of Underground Space Safety". The construction method of 3D geotechnical information is drawn when establishing the basic establishment plan of underground space integrated map, and the continuous construction is performed by the Integrated DB Center of National Geotechnical Information. However, it is necessary to draw concrete measures with accuracy, efficiency, and utilization. This study drew the construction plan considering the accuracy, utilization, and efficiency of 3D geotechnical information for the support of underground space safety. For this, accuracy between elevation and underground level is compared using MVS and MakeJiban which are software to construct boring information with geotechnical information in geotechnical information portal system. In the results of general analysis, the milepost-based construction of whole strata in a lump would be the most suitable in the aspect of accuracy, utilization, and efficiency. Based on the results of this study, Plan to construct 3D geotechnical information will be pursued.

Fuzzy Logic Based Modeling of an Incident Detection Algorithm (퍼지이론을 이용한 유고감지 알고리즘)

  • 본 논문은 다이아몬드 인터체인지에서의 유고감지모형 개발을 위해 퍼지이론을 응용한 연구를 문서화 한 것이다. 지금까지의 교차로와 일반도로(고속도로가 아닌)에서의 유고감지에 관한 연구는 초기에 불과하다. 기존의 알고리즘들은 필요한 데이터 보존의 어 려움과 유고감지의 특성과 관련된 기술적 어려움을 효과적으로 극복하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 다이아몬드 인터체인지에서의 유고감지를 위한 새로운 모형을 개발하는데 있다. 이 연구를 통하여 개발된 유고감지 모형은 차량차단 유고(lane-blocking incidents) 를 감지하는데, 감지의 범위는 차량차단 유고의 경향이 교통 장황에 특정한 패턴을 형성 하고 그에 따른 신호제어전략의 조정이 요구될 때에 국한된다. 이 모형은 전통적인 통계 치를 이용한 유고감지감 고유의 문제를 해결하며, 보다 정확하고 신뢰성 있는 유고감지를 위해 다양한 교통변수를 이용하여 전체적인 유고의 경향을 포착한다. 또한 이 모형은 실 시간 교통대응 다이아몬드 인터체인지 신호제어 시스템 (real-time traffic adaptive diamond interchange control system)의 구성요소로써 사용되며, 그리고 더 큰 교차로 시스템에의 상용을 위하여 확장이 용역하도록 설계되었다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 프로 토타입(prototype) 유고감지 모형은 실제의 다이아몬드 인터체인지에 적용되어, 감지율, 오보율, 평감지시간의 세 달로써 성능이 평가되었다. 모형의 성능평가 결과는 무적이었으 며, 퍼지이론은 유고감지에 효과적인 접근방법임을 확인할 수 있었다.투자의 타당성을 실증적으로 보여 주고 있다.산정 절차 정립에 엇갈림 알고리즘을 활용하는 방안을 제시하였다.자함수를 추정한 뒤 이를 이용해 업종, 기업규모, 상품유형별로 적합한 모델(Fixed Effects Model)을 결정하고, 각각에 해당하는 통계모형을 구축하였다. 이 결과 (1) 업종 및 기업규모별로 그룹간에 유의한 특성이 발견되었으며, (2) R&D 및 광고투자는 기업의 시장성과를 설명하는 중요한 변수이나, (3) R&D 투자의 경우는 광고에 비해 불확실성이 존재하는 것으로 나타났고, (4) 수리모형에서 도출된 한계원리가 통계모형에서도 유효한 것으로 드러났다.등을 토대로 한 10대 산업을 육성하기 위하여 과학기술부는 기술수요조사를 바탕으로 49개 주요기술을 도출하여, 과학기술 일류 국가 실현, 국민소득 2만불 달성이라는 국가적 슬로건을 내걸고 “차세대 성장동력” 창출을 위한 범정부차원의 기획과 연구비의 집중투자를 추진하고 있다.달성하기 위해서는 종합류류 전산망의 시급한 구축과 함께 화물차의 적재율을 높이고 공차율을 낮출 수 있는 운송체계의 수립이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 그라나 이러한 화물전용차선의 효과는 단기적인 치유책일 수밖에 없기 때문에 물류유통 시설의 확충을 위한 사회간접자본의 구축을 서둘러 시행하여야 할 것이다.으로 처리한 Machine oil, Phenthoate EC 및 Trichlorfon WP는 비교적 약효가 낮았다.>$^{\circ}$E/$\leq$30$^{\circ}$NW 단열군이 연구지역 내에서 지하수 유동성이 가장 높은 단열군으로 추정된다. 이러한 사실은 3개 시추공을 대상으로 실시한

  • In this research, we investigate wet-etching properties of GaAs in $NH_4OH-H_2O_2-H_2O$, and develop the fabrication method of GaAs microstructures with rectangular cross section using (001) GaAs substrate. For obtaining wet-etching properties with respect to crystallographic orientation, the etch rates and cross-section etch profiles of (001) GaAs with 16 different compositions and the undercut rates with 5 different compositions are measured using $NH_4OH-H_2O_2-H_2O$ mixed solutions. From these experimental data, a new GaAs micromachining method in bulk (001) GaAs is proposed, and used to fabricate a released microbridges with a rectangular cross section. The developed GaAs micromachining method can be very useful for low-loss, highly-tunable capacitors for RF components and for integration with GaAs optical components.

  • Three-dimensional microscopic approaches in histopathology display multiplex properties that present puzzling questions for specimens as related to their comprehensive volumetric information. This information includes spatial distribution of molecules, three-dimensional co-localization, structural formation and whole data set that cannot be determined by two-dimensional section slides due to the inevitable loss of spatial information. Advancement of optical instruments such as two-photon microscopy and high performance objectives with motorized correction collars have narrowed the gap between optical theories and the actual reality of deep tissue imaging. However, the benefits gained by a prolonged working distance, two-photon laser and optimized beam alignment are inevitably diminished because of the light scattering phenomenon that is deeply related to the refractive index mismatch between each cellular component and the surrounding medium. From the first approaches with simple crude refractive index matching techniques to the recent cutting-edge integrated tissue clearing methods, an achievement of transparency without morphological denaturation and eradication of natural and fixation-induced nonspecific autofluorescence out of real signal are key factors to determine the perfection of tissue clearing and the immunofluorescent staining for high contrast images. When performing integrated laboratory workflow of tissue for processing frozen and formalin-fixed tissues, clear lipid-exchanged acrylamide-hybridized rigid imaging/immunostaining/in situ hybridization-compatible tissue hydrogel (CLARITY), an equipment-based tissue clearing method, is compatible with routine procedures in a histopathology laboratory.

The effect of job stress of system maintenance staff on emotion exhaustion: Focusing on the moderating effect of professional identity (정보시스템 운영인력의 직무 스트레스가 정서적 소진에 미치는 영향: 전문직 정체성의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • The fourth industrial revolution is expected to bring about great changes in information technology sector and create a variety of jobs. However, the psychological anxiety of IT staff is increasing due to stress and uncertainty created by the new technologies. Accordingly, researchers examined how professional identity moderate the effect of job stress of system maintenance staff on emotion exhaustion. For empirical studies, data was collected from 160 employees responsible for managing and supporting IS, and the hypothesis was verified using SPSS 21. The analysis results showed that role conflicts, role ambiguity, and qualitative work overload, which are components of job stress, have affected the emotion exhaustion. Professional identity had a moderating effect the relationship between qualitative work overload and emotion exhaustion. On the other hand, professional identity did not moderate the relationship between role conflict and emotion exhaustion, role ambiguity and emotion exhaustion. As professional identity lessen the psychological burden and emotion exhaustion of introducing new technologies, organizations need to provide support to enhance professional identity for system maintenance staff.

A Watermarking Scheme Based on k-means++ for Design Drawings (k-means++ 기반의 설계도면 워터마킹 기법)

  • A CAD design drawing based on vector data that is very important art work in industrial fields has been considered to content that the copyright protection is urgently needed. This paper presents a watermarking scheme based on k-means++ for CAD design drawing. One CAD design drawing consists of several layers and each layer consists of various geometric objects such as LINE, POLYLINE, CIRCLE, ARC, 3DFACE and POLYGON. POLYLINE with LINE, 3DFACE and ARC that are fundamental objects make up the majority in CAD design drawing. Therefore, the proposed scheme selects the target object with high distribution among POLYLINE, 3DFACE and ARC objects in CAD design drawing and then selects layers that include the most target object. Then we cluster the target objects in the selected layers by using k-means++ and embed the watermark into the geometric distribution of each group. The geometric distribution is the normalized length distribution in POLYLINE object, the normalized area distribution in 3DFACE object and the angle distribution in ARC object. Experimental results verified that the proposed scheme has the robustness against file format converting, layer attack as well as various geometric editing provided in CAD editing tools.
