  • There is a general consensus that Baekjeing means Butcher after the Joseon Dynasty. In the Goryeo Dynasty, the title of "Baekjeong" was named as a general farmer's name, "Hwacheok" and "Jaecheok" from the north, but it changed its name to Shin Baekjeong by nationalization policy in the early Joseon Dynasty. They were multicultural Ancestors who worked for jobs which people despised. The purpose of this study is to examine the background and trends of how these were stripped of their identity and to present a direction for deciding on the policy of multiculturalism which is the subject of our society today. Based on the researches of historical researchers, the study examines the multicultural dynamics of old period and observes the present phenomenon by interpreting the statistics of the related institutions of the government. According to twice questionnaire survey conducted before and after activities using local multi-cultural resources and world geography lessons using the CCAP, it appeared that students had familiarity more than before through direct meeting with foreigners inside and outside classroom, and understood and respected other cultures by acquiring contextual regional knowledge. In the end, multi-cultural activities and world geography lessons using the CCAP contributed to students' global citizenship, which overcame prejudice toward third world cultures. Like that, if world geography classes provide continually students with opportunities to experience directly diverse cultures inside and outside classroom, world geography overcome negative image that it transmit decontextual regional knowledge and is regarded as the subject that is very fit for nurturing global citizenship based on contextual knowledge, consideration and tolerance needed in global and multi-cultural society.

  • The intent of this study is to fully investigate the major issues and challenges related to characteristics of gifted children from multicultural families in Korea. The gifted students of multicultural families are currently categorized as disadvantaged gifted students, but they need to be defined more deeply and separately due to the continuous increase of multicultural families. Most culturally different gifted children have common problem such as integrating into Korean culture, often suffering from emotional problems and their parents' economic disadvantage. Due to these problems a variety of issues arise. First, culturally diverse talented students have problems due to the alienation and the lack of equal opportunity given to gifted children of multicultural families in need. Secondly, another issue is whether or not the selection of these students for a gifted and talented program is administered equally and fairly. Thirdly students and teachers may have difficulty forming relationships. Fourth, there is a dire need to address the issue of a lack of formal education policy. for these students. Fifth, the formulation of a gifted and talented program solely for multicultural students is necessary. Sixth, educating the parents of such students remains a critical challenge. Seventh, the last issue arises from a lack of research regarding the identity of multicultural gifted children in Korea. In this study, we discuss each of these issues in-depth. Additionally the future of Korean Multicultural Gifted selection, training in the field, school direction and it's implications are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the nature of the experience of Emotion Focused Psychology Coaching, and what kind of changes happened for the participants through the experience. For this, in-depth interviews were conducted with four participants who had experienced five sessions of Emotion Focused Psychology Coaching. The interviews were analyzed using the phenomenological analysis method of Colaizzi. Emotion Focused Psychology Coaching is a new coaching psychology model that combines Greenberg's Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and the ICF Core Competencies. The findings show that prior to the experience of Emotion Focused Psychology Coaching, the participants had avoided or suppressed their emotions, which in turn prevented them from exploring effective interpersonal relationships or alternatives in their actions. On the other hand, after they experienced Emotion Focused Psychology Coaching, their perception of emotions, emotion regulation, emotional expression, empathy for the other, etc. were developed in adaptive ways and the participants could present effective alternatives.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of multicultural mentoring class activities in order to promote the professional growth and critical reflection of student mentors who are undergraduate students from a variety of major. For this purpose, the contents and phenomena of the multicultural mentoring of the mentor - mentee were reported as activity texts, and then seven directions of textuality were applied to explore the direction of multicultural mentoring class activities. As a result, coherence refers to the relationship between the mentor and the mentee for continuing the activities of multicultural mentoring, and cohesiveness refers to the relationship between the mentor and the mentee. It was called the achievement of identity. Intention means that the mentor has an intention or goal for the class before the mentoring activity, and tolerance means that the text produced by the mentor in the multicultural mentoring process is accepted by the mentee. Intentional means that the mentor has intention or goal for the class before the mentoring class activity, and tolerance means having the text as the class activity text when the mentor's text is accepted by the multicultural mentoring class activity process. In the case of informativeness, the information produced by the mentor is less informative when the mentee is predictable and less informative when the predictor is low. In the case of contextuality, contextuality of class activities can be changed according to the physical text situation and the mentee situation in class activity. In case of multicultural mentoring class activity, except for case where mentor creates new class activity text, it is related to the production of class activity texts through mentor learning experiences, peer friends' advice, and education.

  • The negative awareness of a multiculturalism rises around the world because of various problems that happen with the multicultural phenomenon. Nevertheless, the reason we uphold multiculturalism is that multicultural phenomenon is an inevitable consequence of capitalism and the decline of multiculturalism might imply danger of bringing about radical nationalism. This study assumes that a distortion of multiculturalism is the result from a myth of romance film which affects the public perception as an integral component of a discourse. Grounded upon monomith, the narrative structure of romance film of which motive comes from courtly love makes people miscomprehend the value of multiculturalism because of the multicultural factor as substitute for romantic obstacle. As the character of romance movie is likely to be formed focusing on superficial images and denotations, this tendency causes the hierarchy and the representative minority drives out the rest of other minorities. The attempt to arouse people's tolerance and understanding of the other is frustrated both by the structure of binary oppositions and the clich$\acute{e}$.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the structures of consciousness on the experiences of formation and adjustment in multicultural families. A qualitative study was designed in this article. The research participants were 10 dyads of immigrant married women and their mothers-in-law. Before the marriage, the mother-in-law's expectation about her daughter-in-law was not high, and the daughter-in-law held the same opinion of her mother-in-law. During the marriage process, the mother-in-law had difficulties in terms of physical, emotional, and material aspects. The daughter-in-law endured the wedding procedure by holding onto hope and anticipation for the future. After the marriage, the mother-in-law eventually became satisfied with her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law grew to feel thankful for her new family members and expressed that she was living a happy life. Consequently, the essence of formation and adjustment in multicultural families was "obtaining precious family members through the undergoing of trial and error."
