This study was conducted to investigate students' perception of the integration of Chinese ethnic minority culture into the college EFL teaching which was carried out in the fall and spring semesters with different presentation topics. One and the same questionnaire was distributed to 61 participants, involving Han Chinese and Chinese ethnic minority students, at a university in ethnic minority area in China at the end of each semester, and SPSS 20.0 was used for t-test to analyze the data. The research results showed that Chinese undergraduates have got more significant improvements in cultural cognition, emotions, attitudes, and multi-cultural values in the spring semester than those in the fall semester. All participants benefit a lot from multi-cultural activities without significant differences between Han Chinese and ethnic minority students in both semesters. It is suggested that ethnic minority culture be integrated into the college EFL teaching, along with English culture and Chinese mainstream culture, which be administered as a practical teaching mode to develop students' intercultural competence.

This study aims to investigate pre-service primary English teachers' perceptions of multicultural education. For this study, the researchers surveyed 63 pre-service teachers at a national university of education using an online survey. A quantitative method is used in order to collect and analyze data. The results revealed the following: First, pre-service primary English teachers stand at a considerably high level in their overall understanding of elementary students and clearly recognize the necessity of multicultural education in school. Second, concerning the difference that the personal variables of gender, grade, and major make in the subjects' perception of English education based on multicultural education, grade showed no statistically significant difference, but gender and major are responsible for a slight difference. Third, an analysis was made of the correlation between the subjects having or not having received multicultural education and the personal variables of gender, grade, and major, yielding the following results: Gaining or not gaining multicultural education does not correlate with gender, but does significantly with grade and major.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of age and gender on Eastern and Western cultural values imbedded in online advertising. This study conducted a survey of 180 men and women ages between 10s and 60s who lived in Seoul, Korea. They responded the acceptance degree of six online advertising emphasized three Korean traditional values and three Modern values. Research hypotheses of this study were the acceptance of cultural values in online advertising is different between ages, but similar between gender. The hypotheses were supported as the previous studies. Findings suggest several theoretical and practical implications that convergence between modern and traditional values is a more important variable to study in the research of online advertising.

In this media convergence era when the 'hybrid' genres increase, it has been important to explore distinguishing genre-specific effects of contents use. This study revealed that news, current affairs/talk, and documentary genres respectively produces opposite directions of influences on values; likewise, drama and reality genres also respectively produces differentiated impact on values and social trust. Drama viewing itself shows contrary patterns on civic attitude, i. e., positive relationship with social trust while negative with tolerance.

지난해 출판된 '미래를 파괴한다'라는 책은 일본의 인쇄업계에서 지금까지 본적이 없는 신선한 충격과 새로운 가치관을 심어줬다. 현재 일본 인쇄업계는 분명히 변해가고 있지만 자발적이고 혁신적이라기보다는 마지못해 끌려가고 있다는 느낌을 주는 것도 어느 정도 사실이었다. 이런 상황에 대한 객관적이고 통렬한 메시지를 전달하고 있기 때문이다.

This study selected the objects and the content factors of multicultural education in home economics, and analyzed multicultural contents reflected on high school technology & home economics textbooks. Based on these results, this study suggests the direction for improving technology & home economics textbook. We set up the object of multicultural education in home economics as creating the new culture through developing multicultural ability by critical thinking. The distribution analysis of multicultural contents of six kinds of technology & home economics textbook resulted that most of contents are assigned to 'knowledge section'. And 'personal relationship and group function' holds the highest ratio among the sub-sections of 'function section'. The 'value section' shows even distribution in its sub-sections. Most of textbooks contain characteristics of Korean traditional culture and necessary value in multicultural society. But, there are lack of contents about the way of communication with other cultures and coexist with diverse cultures. When we develops new textbook hereafter, it is necessary to contain the contents about which can help to understand and respect diverse culture through the egalitarian perspective and, by extension, which can make students think critically about the attitude, values, environment and way of live together with multicultural members in society. From now on Home Economics education will help the students who live in multicultural society to be understand about the differences in diverse culture and to create a desirable culture through the critical thinking as well.

본 연구는 '소비자중심'의 주거문화를 모색하기 위해 한국사회 신세대소비자의 주거 가치와 관련요인에 대해 수도권의 20~35세 남녀를 대상으로 자기기입식 질문지를 이용하여 실증연구하였고 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 14개 주거가치에 대해 전반적으로 중요 하다는 응답이 대부분이었다. 둘째, 주거가치의 요인분석결과 4개 특성이 추출되었고 두 맥 락으로 접근할 수 있었다 하나는 후기 산업사회로의 발전과 함께 중요하게 인식되는 주거가 치특성으로 외부환경의 편리성과 인간성 회복 인접환경의 안전과 프라이버시 내부환경의 편 리성과 아름다움을 중시하는 주거가치가 이에 속한다. 이주거가치들은 신세대소비자에게 매 우 강하게 형성되어 있었으며 공통적으로 신세대가치관이 강할수록 더 강한 것으로 나타났 다. 다음은 전통적으로 중요시된 주거가치로서 위신과 경제성 주거가치이다 이는 비교적 낮 은 수준으로 나타났으며 신세대가치관이 약할수록 더 강하게 나타났다.

In this study, the fact that the influx of multi-cultural society impact on local communities are examined to analysis the negative impact and positive impact with four types of political (government), economic, social and cultural saw classified. Although some have a negative evaluation, most of the respondents said the influx of multi-cultural society had a positive impact on South Korea's development and believes a positive impact in the future. In the results of the analysis, areas where multicultural society gives the most positive impact of local communities in political (administrative), economic, social, of the four segments of culture has been rated as the field of culture, on the other hand, areas that have the most negative impact has been evaluated as social sector. Though we live in nationalism culture for a long time and heterogeneous foreign residents has so rapidly increased that conflicts due to collision of values of differences and culture of each other have occurred, foreign residents are generally, have a positive impact on our society. Substantially marriage immigrants who successfully solve the rural bachelor of marriage problem are willing to prevent population decline phenomenon and reduce the crime rate in the society, of course. In addition, foreign workers who employed at low wages in the 3D industry which is avoided by the South Korean people have contributed to our country's economic development.

In this paper, we study on an 'e-Atlas of Society & Culture(e-ASC)', to develop and implement educational courseware for marriage immigrant women, to adapt Korean society. The 'e-ASC' can help cultural adaptation, such as the understanding of Korean people's common values and behaviors and can likewise provide opportunities to contribute to Korean society, for marriage immigrant women living in Korea. E-cultural map is a useful tool for providing educational experiences and sharing a sociocultural homogeneity, using three dimensional space, for both immigrants and residents. The 'e-Atlas of Society & Culture', suggested in this paper, using the notion of an E-cultural map, has a strong point. That is to say, the immigrants have contextual limitations about Korea and Korean culture, caused by some particular events in their motherland. This atlas provides an opportunity to overcome this contextual limitations and to help understand and adapt to Korean society for these immigrants. This 'e-Atlas of Society & Culture' can be an efficient educational tool for immigrants and can help marriage immigrant women understand and adapt Korean social and cultural phenomena. They might have contextual limitations about these phenomena in their motherland.

This study was carried out to investigate what kind of problems gender equality in Chinese married immigrant women have in marriage. We interviewed five Chinese marriage immigrant women married to Korean men for research. Using the case study method, which is a qualitative research method, five research participants analyzed gender equality awareness and gender equality conflict after migration. As a result, the marital conflicts, which are the difference of recognition of gender equality among married immigrant women, were different according to the family life culture of their home countries, the route of meeting with their husbands, and their understanding of Chinese culture. Nonetheless, most of the research participants showed that they accepted the Korean women's values in the form of conforming to the Korean patriarchal system while taking the inequality by attempting to assimilate positively in Korean society. And some of them resulted in the failure of the family because of the patriarchal values of the Korean husband. Based on the results of this study, we discussed the problems of gender equality in multicultural families in Korea and discussed ways to improve them.
