통합놀이터 가이드라인의 특성 (Characteristics of Inclusive Playground Guidelines)

  • 통합놀이터는 장애인 전용 놀이터가 아닌 장애아동과 비장애아동 모두가 함께 놀 수 있는 놀이터이며, 1960년대 미국에서 장애인들의 시민권이 추구되면서 이루어진 놀이터를 보는 사회적 인식 변화로 시작되었다. 이후 통합놀이터는 여러 나라에서 발전되었으며, 실천방식은 가이드라인의 형태로 정리되었다. 국내에서도 통합놀이터를 향한 사회적 관심이 높아지고 있으나, 해외 사례나 가이드라인을 단편적으로 적용하는 데 그치고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 여러 나라의 통합놀이터 디자인 가이드라인의 유형을 분류하고, 각각의 가이드라인에서 제시하는 통합놀이터의 개념, 디자인 원칙 및 세부 지침을 분석하여 국내 통합놀이터 디자인 가이드라인 작성을 위한 기초적 틀을 제공하려 한다. 디자인 가이드라인의 목적은 구체적 설계 지침, 학문적 연구와 산업체 제품 연계, 추구 가치의 사회적 확산과 실현, 디자인 방법을 통한 추구 가치를 확장 등으로 나타났다. 목적에 따라 내용의 구성은 차이를 보이고 있다. 공통적인 추구 가치는 장애인만을 위한 놀이터가 아닌 모두를 위한 놀이터로 몇몇 가이드라인에서는 이를 구현하는 방식으로 난이도를 언급하고 있다. 디자인 원칙을 살펴보았을 때 접근성 향상은 공통적이나 경우에 따라 안정성, 독립성, 편의성, 놀이성 같은 원칙을 더하고 있다. 모든 가이드라인이 디자인 지침을 제공하지 않으며, 디자인 지침을 제공하고 있더라도 구체성의 정도와 방식에는 차이가 있다. 디자인 지침은 장애아동 놀이 지원과 통합놀이의 유도로 크게 구분할 수 있고, 장애아동 놀이지원은 '공간 및 시설물의 치수 및 재질 확보', '보조장치 추가', '새로운 시설물 디자인' 세 단계로 구분하여 정리할 수 있다. 통합놀이 유도를 위한 디자인 지침은 '다양한 난이도와 교차 공간 조성', '협력하며 놀기의 조건 제공', '보호자의 효율적 지원을 위한 조건 제공'으로 요약된다. 본 연구에서는 물리적 환경에 집중하였으나, 사회적으로는 아동의 놀 권리 보장이 이루어져야 하고 장애인을 향한 사회적 태도는 배제에서 통합으로 전환되어야 한다. 또한 통합 놀이 프로그램의 개발 및 관련 종사자 양성, 놀이 환경의 유지 및 관리 등 다양한 측면이 고려되어야 한다. 이에 통합놀이터 조성 이후의 운영과 관리를 위한 인적, 사회적 인프라 구축, 제도 정비를 다루는 후속 연구가 필요하다.

관련법규 변천이 아파트단지 내 어린이놀이터 변화에 미치는 영향 연구 - 서울시 소재 현장을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Effect of the Changes of Play Facilities on Rules Changes - Focusing on the City of Seoul -)

  • 본 연구는 약 20년 동안 어린이놀이터 관련법규의 변화내용을 연도별, 법규별로 분석하여 관련법규의 변화가 놀이터 디자인 변화에 영향을 주었는지 연구하였다. 분석결과, 법규별, 년도별 변천내용에 대한 연구대상지의 디자인 변화는 법규 항목별로 영향을 미치는 시기, 내용이 각각 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 첫째, 도로 및 주차장으로 부터의 이격거리, 놀이시설간 안전휀스의 설치, 내구성 있는 재료의 사용 등이 항목 개정시기 이후 디자인 변화에 영향을 준 것으로 나타나고 있다. 둘째, 법규의 제 개정 이후 디자인의 변화가 나타나는 항목들은 상록수의 차폐, 일조조건이 양호한 위치의 선정 등이다. 셋째, 법규의 변화가 놀이터 디자인 변화에 영향을 미치지 않는 항목은 놀이터 내 주민운동시설의 대체가능, 위생진단 연 2회 이상으로 나타났다. 이렇게 영향요인별로 차이가 발생한 원인은 놀이터 디자인에 정확히 반영할 수 있는 법규의 세부기준이 부족하여 임의 해석을 통하여 영향을 주거나, 시간이 지나면서 외부공간의 질적 향상의 변화추세에 맞추어 반영되어진 것으로 판단된다. 또한, 주민운동시설로의 대체는 완화규정이라 할 수 있어 연구대상지 여건에 따라 주관적인 반영이 있는 것으로 판단되어진다. 이러한 법규의 변화내용이 놀이터 디자인 변화에 정확히 반영이 되어지기 위한 법규의 개선방안을 제시하였다. 특히, 법규의 준수가 가능한 구체적 기준의 제정이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 예를 들어 상록수의 차폐는 놀이터 주변 녹지의 폭, 차폐 권장수종, 차폐의 길이 등의 보완이 필요하며, 일조조건이 양호한 위치는 놀이터의 향을 제한하거나, 인접 건축물과의 이격거리 기준 등을 제시하는 것이 필요한 것으로 판단된다. 그리고 최근 설계지침과 과업내용에서 나타나며 서론에서 언급한 놀이의 기능을 충실히 하기 위한 다양한 외관, 변화가 가능한 형태, 테마공간의 부여 등 "어린이 놀이터 설계기준(가칭)"이 마련되어 법규의 부족한 부분을 보완하는 것이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

친환경 실외 놀이터 계획 요소에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Planning Elements for Eco-friendly Outdoor Playground)

  • Since Seoul city supplied 'Sangsang Children's Playground', domestic playgrounds are changing from formal facilities to creative play and learning space recently. From eco-friendly safe playground model development project, eco-friendly playground planning and its actual cases have been occasionally introduced. However, we could not know how well most playgrounds reflect eco-friendly features and whether they are eco-friendly or not because the definition about the concept of eco-friendly playground is inadequate and there are not the specific planning guidelines and evaluation standards for making the eco-friendly playground. Therefore, the development of guidelines for the construction of eco-friendly playground is required and evaluation guidelines for them should be made for the active dissemination of the actual eco-friendly playground and the proper construction of the eco-friendly playground. In this study, we defined the concept of eco-friendly outdoor playground and presented the types and characteristics of the playground based on the concept and suggested basic plan guidelines based on the existing requirements for becoming eco-friendly playground. For this purpose, we checked the plan's common points in the existing playground configuration requirements, installation standards, regulations, and safety standards, and offered the planning elements and guidelines through the analysis of outdoor space evaluation standard in eco-friendly safe playground guidelines and eco-friendly building certification system.

독일 공동주택 놀이터의 친환경적 특성 연구 (A Study on the Eco-friendly Properties of Apartment Housing Playground in Germany)

  • As an apartment house as well as improving quality of life is becoming one of the brands, it is increasing the importance of the outer space with the facilities in the housing complex. In particular, the outdoor playground such as the community facilities that children and adults share as the activity areas for residents has received attention. However, actually children have not used many of Korean apartment housing playgrounds that were installed formally in the scrap area according to the housing plan by residential construction standards. it is considered necessary to improve the quality of the playground in housing complex and reform it in order to make the eco-friendly play space in which children can play safely and h healthily. As an alternative, we analyzed the eco-friendly properties of the playgrounds installed in the eco-friendly housing complex in Germany and derived the main planning elements of eco-friendly playground. In the observational survey of the 10 playgrounds in 9 housing complexes in 5 regions in Germany, we evaluated the environment-friendliness of these playgrounds in the 8 fields(location and placement, ecological environment, play space, play equipment and facilities, additional facilities, materials and resources, energy saving, environmental load reduction) according to the levels(suitable, partial reflection, unsuitable, non-reflection) of reflection of eco-friendly planning factors. The following is the summary of the results about the reflection of eco-friendly planning factors. In terms of "suitable": location and placement(88.8%), play equipment and facilities(73.5%), additional facilities(60.6%), environmental load reduction(54%), and ecological environment(50%) were higher than others. In terms of "unsuitable": there was nothing. In terms of "non-reflection": energy saving(95%), additional facilities(32.2%), and materials and resources(30.9%) were in order. Therefore, on the basis of these results, this study proposed the planning indicators to be considered first and the planning factors that should be complemented and improved in the construction of apartment housing playground in future.

사례 분석을 통한 생태 놀이터의 계획 특성 연구 (A Study on the Planning Properties of Ecological Playground through Case Studies)

  • The playgrounds installed in the city try a variety of changes in play equipment more than traditional playgrounds, these playgrounds with formal rides are still different from nature friendly playground. For this reason, when in 2014 the department of environment pushed forward 'Aitteulag' project constructing ecological playground, the department aimed to provide the natural ecological spaces that are insufficient in the city and act as play space for children, leisure and community space for residents. Therefore, after inspecting 10 ecological playgrounds in Europe and Japan, in this study we suggested the construction guidelines of ideal ecological playground by comparing and analyzing these cases. We checked the environment-friendliness of these playgrounds in the 2 fields (playground component, ecological program) based on the ecological playground guidelines presented by the ministry of environment. The playground components are classified as siting location, spatial configurations, natural elements, play area, amusement facilities, play materials, open spaces, additional facilities. The ecological programs are divided into habitat, species, natural material, five senses. The following is the summary of the results about the reflection of eco-friendly planning factors. In terms of "habitat": bush and shade wood were highest at 95%. In terms of "species": local indigene(100%) and habitat for insects(95%) were higher than others. In terms of "natural material": wood(61.1%) was the highest. In terms of "details of wood(61.1%)": wood fence (95%), exploring wood and using sticks(85%) were higher than others. In terms of "five senses": hearing (32.1%), tactile(26.4%), and visual(23.9%) were in order. Therefore, on the basis of these results, this study proposed the planning factors that should be considered and complemented more in the construction of domestic urban ecological playground in future.

사용자 참여디자인에 의한 ′A′유치원 놀이터 계획과정에 관한 연구 (A Case Study on the Planning Process of ′'A′ Kindergarten′s Playground Applied User Participatory Design)

  • The purpose of this study is to introduce the design process for the 'natural-friendly' kindergarten playground using participatory design method. The 'A' kindergarten in Daejon was selected as a case study. The concept of the design was decided by the user's needs which draw out the pictures of children, owner's educational philosophy, and request of the teachers. As a result, the concept approached to 'our neighborhood (Korean traditional village)' image, and was planned with a focus on open space, which allows rich in natural elements(earth ground, trees, flowers vegetable farm, animals, water and sand etc.) and various play activities. And a user participatory design method proved that it was proper to design a kindergarten playground.

  • Children usually have an endless curiosity. They sometimes show us some fanciful, various and unpredictable behaviors and they are always in need of enough space to play in, no matter where it might be. Designers have to provide children with a proper space in which they feel free to diffuse their aspirations. Three samples of apartment site in Cheongju city were selected in order to satisfy the purpose of this survey. To figure out the actual use of playground, the extent of preference and satisfaction and the requests for future betterment, this study used questionnaires, photos, interviews and observations. The conclusions of this survey are as follows and it may be expected that the results suggest a kind of guidance for designing playground on apartment sites.

창의성 증진을 위한 국내놀이터 공간특성 및 개선방안 연구 (The Spatial Characteristics of Playgrounds Supporting Children's Creativity)

  • As the paradigm which emphasizes nurturing creative elites is introduced, more attention has been paid to children playing and their creativity. This change means that the importance of creativity is emphasized in the education of children, and furthermore, playgrounds which focus on creativity and imagination are needed. Therefore, this study examines the spatial characteristics of playgrounds for children and suggested strategies to improve them. There are five spatial characteristics of a creative playground: aesthetics, being eco-friendly, exploration, challenging and variable. Through the five characteristics, playgrounds were analysed based on ten expressive elements and the results are summarized: Creative playgrounds for children should have an attractive design with sculptural elements which stimulate children to be excited through associable shapes and abstract colors. Second, shelter type structures and a flexible flow design are needed so that children can feel free and be encouraged to explore in diverse ways. Third, as playgrounds for children provide spaces for rest in addition to play, organic facilities and eco-friendly materials for the rest space should to be used. Fourth, as childhood is a period when emotional, cognitive and physical development are achieved, organic geographical features and atypical facilities should be provided so that children can acquire extensive skills and join in physical activities. Finally, creative playgrounds for children should have mobile or variable facilities which consider the characteristics of children who want to do diverse activities and play different games. This study analysed playgrounds for children and suggested strategies to improve them. For successful design and use of creative playgrounds, it is suggested that intensive research on them and consultation with experts should be considered.

국내 상상 어린이 공원의 친환경성 평가 연구 (A Study on the Environment-Friendliness Evaluation of Sangsang Children's Park in Korea)

  • Since Seoul city supplied 'Sangsang Children's Park', domestic children's parks are changing from formal facilities to creative play space recently. From eco-friendly safe playground model development project, the awareness of eco-friendly playground, namely children's park is increasing and its necessity is magnified. However, we could not know how well most children's parks aimed at the eco-friendly playground reflect eco-friendly features and whether they are eco-friendly or not because there are not the specific planning guidelines and evaluation standards for making the eco-friendly playground or children's park. Therefore, in this study we established the environment-friendliness evaluation standards of children's parks and estimated the environment-friendly features of the 9 parks built on the subject of green among Sangsang Children's Parks. In the observational survey of the 9 parks, we evaluated the environment-friendliness of these parks in the 8 fields(location and placement, ecological environment, play space, play equipment and facilities, additional facilities, materials and resources, energy saving, environmental load reduction) according to the levels(suitable, partial reflection, unsuitable, non-reflection) of reflection of eco-friendly planning factors. The assessment results showed that 4 items (location and placement, additional facilities, play space, play equipment and facilities) were suitable and others (energy saving, environmental load reduction, ecological environment, materials and resources) were partial reflection or unsuitable. Therefore, on the basis of these results, this study proposed the planning indicators to be considered first and the planning factors that should be complemented and improved in the construction of eco-friendly children's park in future.

감각통합이론에 근거한 장애와 비장애를 포용하는 놀이터 환경 구성에 관한 연구 (A Study on setting the Environment of Inclusive Playground Including Disabled Children and Children without Disabilities (including at-risk children) based on J. Ayres' Sensory Integration Theory)

  • This study starts at the at-risk children(the students in the margins)' needs for the inclusive education environment who increased lately. It is studied in the limited scope, which is about spacially 'playground' and 'Sensory integrative therapy' in terms of the special education therapy. The 6 environmental setting principles are suggested, which is redefined in terms of suitable for applying to the environment design based on the training way and arbitration principle of J. Ayres' Sensory integrative therapy. And then various environment design methods are drawn from above-mentioned 6 principles, they are categorized in 4 elements for environmental setting - sensory element, behavior element, mental element and design expression element. This trial brings daily practice of therapeutic stimulate to sensory integration dysfunction children, and sensory experiential diversity promoting development to general children. Expecially it has some advantage that at-risk children(the students in the margins) feel a sense of belonging as a member of society.
