Case Study Plan for Information Security SLA Performance System in Public Sector (공공부문 정보보안 SLA 성과체계 사례연구)

  • Information security started as an IT operation process and is now recognized as an important issue of information technology, and each international organization is newly defining the concept. Information security itself is a new combination of IT technologies, a set of technologies and a technology area. As IT outsourcing becomes common in many public sectors, SLAs are introduced to evaluate the level of IT services. In the area of information security, many studies have been conducted on the derivation and selection of SLA performance indicators, but it is difficult to find a way to apply the performance indicators to service level evaluation and performance systems. This thesis conducted a study on the application of a service evaluation system for information security performance indicators based on the public sector and a performance system including compensation regulations. It presents standards and rewards(incentive and penalty) that define expectation and targets of performance indicators that take into account the environment and characteristics of a specific public sector, and defines appropriate SLA costs. It proposes a change plan for the organizational structure for practical SLA application and service level improvement.

  • For the education information system, evaluation of the performance have to incorporate the special characteristics od education. This paper is to develop some measures to assess the performance of Korean National Education Information System (NEIS). Performance measures are classified those into three detailed areas as the flow of value chain. which include end-users area, education process area and performance area. Research results show that the users's concern to the information system have an affirmative influence on the satisfaction of users, and attitude change of users have also a positive influence on the administration area of the information system such as task productivity, task innovation, satisfaction of the education users, activity of control process. Also, user's satisfaction for NEIS, that comes from the communication, have an affirmative influence on the better performance of education,

  • The objective of this study is to verify effects of employees' cognition of their job characteristics in production department of manufacturing companies on production performance and also to verify the moderating effect of the characteristics of managerial accounting information in the relationship between job characteristics and productivity. To achieve this purpose, this study divides the factors of job characteristics into task diversity, task significance, autonomy, and task identity and production performance into flexibility, time, and quality. The results of this study are as follows. First, There is a significant relationship between job characteristics and production performance according to employees' cognition of their job characteristics. Second, There is a significant relationship between job characteristics and production performance according to the characteristics of managerial accounting information.

  • The Teaching & Learning Center plays an important role in increasing the expertise of instructors and for directing the diffusion of innovation not only in primary & secondary education but also in education at the university level. In this study, the Performance Evaluation Model is devised and developed for improving the competency of the Teaching & Learning Center. It consists of three domains - (a) the planning domain, (b) the process domain, and (c) the performance domain - and 11 external indices and 8 internal indices. The Performance Evaluation Index and Guidelines are proposed based on this model.

  • The core of accreditation for engineering education is to improve the ability and quality of graduates through CQI system based on outcomes. For the program outcomes of the engineering education accreditation criterion, it is necessary to understand the relationship among education assessment, objective and curriculum. This study has focused on the program outcomes and the assessment. First the measure for improving the general problems of the program outcomes associated with assessment tool have been stated. And the detailed measure for practicing the program outcome, the assessment system and the assessment tool, which makes use of Rubrics, have been discussed. Therefore it is expected that the program outcome and the assessment may be conducted at universities with the assessment tool established in this study.

  • In spite of proliferating E-business success stories, many executives urge that they have not realized the return expected from investments in Internet-based E-business systems, Most of businesses tend to focus on immediate financial payoffs and overlook the improvements in information capabilities and business performance, The purpose of the research is to investigate the effects of Internet-based E-business systems on organizations' information capabilities, business performance, and financial performance, and to illustrate the roles and values of the systems in achieving business goals. Findings illustrate that when an organization's information capabilities are enhanced by Internet-based E-business systems, business performance tends to improve. In addition, the study implies that the business performance improvement may create consumer benefits, which would be indispensable factors to make a profit.

  • Korean government has implemented various construction technology policies to attain competitiveness. However, there have not been interested in appropriate objectives and performance evaluation of the policy implementation. Previous evaluation included only inputs during implementation process not outputs or outcomes. Therefore, this paper performs performance evaluations on 3rd general plans for construction technology that had been implemented from 2003 to 2007 by government. This analyzes both quantitative and qualitative results. The results tell us that clear and appropriate objectives and evaluation methodology should be established for effective performance evaluation. This paper will provide the basis for establishing future construction policies or plans.

  • The purpose of this study is to find a cause of economic performance differences among industries. For this purpose, several hypothesis are established and tested (1) Whether the firm's capability and performance are different among industries\ulcorner (2) Whether the firm's management resources affects the performance are different among industries\ulcorner (3) Whether the firm's performances are different between high performance group and low performance group in same industry\ulcorner The results of this study are (1) the level of firm's capability and performance are different and (2) the management resources which affect the performance are different according the industry. And (3) the management resources are different according to the firm's performance level in same industry.

A Collaboration-based, Performance-Management Model for Networked Enterprises (네트워크 기업의 협업 성과관리 모형에 관한 연구)

  • Competition is now moving from between companies to between networked enterprises(NE). It's difficult to evaluate the outcome of NE because formalization of collaboration among partners is difficult. This paper introduces a performance-management model focusing on collaboration in NE. The model is an integration of BSC and EFQM model, but it is different from conventional researches as it links performance management with strategic management based on a comprehensive framework of collaboration. Theoretical and empirical researches are further required to validate the model. Studying cases of several Korean NEs, we have obtained some findings for further research and application.

  • This paper abstracts the key factors affecting business performance by ERP system at university in China and suggests how to use ERP system effectively at university. Main results are as follows: First, concern and support by CEO affects personal business performance of ERP. Second, ERP system education affects organizational business performance of ERP. Third, concern and support by CEO affects business enhancement performance of ERP.
