Spalling Properties of High Strength Concrete Made with Various Aspect Ratios and Fiber Contents of Nylon Fiber (나일론 섬유의 형상비 및 혼입률 변화에 따른 고강도 콘크리트의 폭렬특성)

  • This study investigates the spatting properties of high strength concrete, $60\sim80MPa$ class, designed with diverse aspect ratios and fiber content of nylon(NY). Test showed that increase of fiber content and aspect ratio in concrete decreased the fluidity of fresh concrete, especially for 1580 and 3000 aspect ratio of fiber. As for the compressive and tensile strength, adding NY fiber did not significantly affect the values In the range of high strength. After completing the fire test, the specimens containing both 750 and 1000 aspect ratios of fiber protected the spatting occurrence even in 0.05vol.% of fiber content. This specimens indicated the residual compressive strength ratio at 37%, showing the most favorable value among other specimens. Therefore, it is demonstrated that to protect the spalling in high strength concrete considering the effective fluidity, strength and economic efficiency altogether, adding 0.05vol.% of NY fiber with 750 aspect ratio Is beneficial.

Derivation of the Effective Energy Calculation Formula of the X-ray Beam Generated by the CT Simulator (CT 모의치료장치에서 발생된 X-선 빔의 유효에너지 계산식 유도)

  • The purpose of this study is to derive a formula for calculating the effective energy of an X-ray beam generated by a CT simulator. Under 90, 120, and 140 kVp X-ray beams, the CT number calibration insert part of the AAPM CT performance phantom was scanned 5 times with a CT simulator. The CT numbers of polyethylene, polystyrene, water, nylon, polycarbonate, and acrylic were measured for each CT slice image. The average value of CT number measured under a single tube voltage and the linear attenuation coefficients corresponding to each photon energy calculated from the data of the National Institute of Standards and Technology were linearly fitted. Among the obtained correlation coefficients, the photon energy having the maximum value was determined as the effective energy. In this way, the effective energy of the X-ray beam generated at each tube voltage was determined. By linearly fitting the determined effective energies(y) and tube voltages(x), y=0.33026x+30.80263 as an effective energy calculation formula was induced.

  • Heating wire cutting type separation mechanism has been widely used for cube satellite applications due to its design constraints such as small size of $10cm{\times}10cm{\times}10cm$ and light weight of less than 1kg. In addition, usage of pyro technic device is not allowed for cube satellite application. The conventional methods have some disadvantages of relatively small mechanical constraint force and the system complexity for the multi-deployable systems. In this paper, a separation nut type non-explosive separation mechanism has been proposed and investigated. The effectiveness of the design has been verified through the qualification tests of the mechanism.

  • Hinge driving type holding and release mechanism based on the burn wire release for application of cubesat is main payload of STEP Cube Lab. (Cube Laboratory for Space Technology Experimental Project) to be launched at 2015. It has high constraint force, low shock level as well as surmounting drawbacks of conventional nichrome burn wire release method that has relatively low constraint force and system complexity for application of multi-deployable systems. In this paper, we have proposed a flight model of holding and release mechanism for the verification of the constraint force and deployment status signal acquisition. To validate the effectiveness of the flight model, launch and on-orbit environment verification test have been performed.

The Color Fading and Staining of Fabrics by Drum-type Washer (드럼세탁기 사용시 세탁물의 변.퇴색 방지에 관한 연구)

  • To study the effect of a washing machine with silver nano technology on its detergency, the discoloring of the dyed clothes and the staining of standards adjacent fabrics were examined. As the laundry specimen, cotton fabric dyed with reactive dyes and Polyester fabric dyed with disperse dyes were chosen; and as the adjacent fabrics, undyed cotton. polyester and nylon fabrics were chosen. The colorfastness was evaluated after washing under conditions that those washing temperature, liquor ratio, detergency concentration and the type of water were varied. When the clothes were washed with the tap water contains silver ion, the deposition of silver compounds into the washed clothes was measured. As a results, after the washing in the various conditions, discoloring of the dyed clothes was not intense. The higher the washing temperature and the lower the liquor ratio, the larger the staining appeared on the white fabrics; especially for the white nylon fabrics. The concentration of detergent and the type of water affected hardly the colorfastness. After the repeated washing with the water contains silver, whiteness of the cotton and the nylon fabrics were lower than the result after the washing with the tap water, and a quantity of silver ions was found on the washed clothes.

Dyeabilities of Polyester and Polyester/Nylon Nonwovens in the Foam Dyebath Assisted with Solvent (폴리에스테르 및 폴리에스테르/나일론 부직포의 용제첨가 거품염욕에서의 염색성)

  • In foam dyebath assisted with and without solvent (iso-propylacohol) for polyester and polyester(30%)/nylon(70%) (P3/N7) nonwoven fabrics, adsorption behavior of polyester and P3/N7 nonwovens dyed with C.I. Disperse Red 4 (Red 4), C.I. Acid Violet 54(Violet 54) and Red 4/Violet 54 were investigated by determining the K/S value. The K/S values of polyester and P3/N7 nonwovens in the foam dyeing was greatly enchanced by adding the iso-propylalcohol, but these values were not higher than the carrier dyeing. Dyeabilities of polyester/nylon blended nonwoven fabrics to Red 4, Violet 54 and Red 4/Violet 54 in the foam dyeing were influenced by the affinity of dye to fiber.

  • Nowadays, energy-saving has become important in the construction industry. Above all things, outside insulation on buildings is important in measure of energy-saving. However, its insulation performance is degraded by the problem of that Cement-polymer modified waterproof coatings are used mostly for covering plaster mortar. In this study, we examine the optimum size of the silica and how does silica's size effect on physical properties of outside insulation covering plaster mortar.

  • In this study, we attempted to evaluate the sorptive loss of VOC upon their contact with different material surfaces including clothing pieces. For the purpose of this study, we developed a method to evaluate such loss by employing a filter holder pack in the thermal desorption line of the GC/FID system. The calibration curves of different aromatic VOCs including benzene, toluene, and xylene were made by loading them at different quantities through the analytical line. A series of experiments were conducted repetitively to draw calibration data sets for all three materials covering glass fiber, cotton, and nylon. The results were then compared in terms of both material types and of VOC types. The extent of sorptive loss increased in a highly systematic manner across different materials such as glass fiber, cotton, and nylon. The patterns of sorptive loss also increased gradually across VOC type such toward in the direction of increasing molecular weights: benzene, toluene, and xylene. According to this experimental study, it is concluded that sorptive behavior of pollutint compounds like VOC can be controlled by the combined effects of both chemical properties and material characteristics.

Study on Dyeing Properties of Nylon 66 Nano Fiber (1) -Levelling Type Acid Dyes- (나일론 66 나노섬유의 염색성에 관한 연구(1) -균염성 산성염료-)

  • In recent, development of nano fiber has been one of the most active subjects in the world. Nano fiber is defined as a ultra fine yarn with a diameter unit of $10-100\times10^{-9}meter$, which is possible to be produced by an electro-spinning technology. In this study, physical characteristics and dyeing properties of nylon 66 nano fiber were investigated. Nylon 66 nano fiber was dyed with levelling type acid dyes. X-ray diffraction method and DSC analysis were used for the measurement of the degree of crystallization. Analysis of amino end groups was also performed in order to examine a relationship between number of amino groups and its dyeing property as well as water absorption behavior. The maximum exhaustion % of dyes and dyeing rate under various dyeing conditions, such as dyeing temperature and pH in dye bath, along with build-up properties for 2 acid dyes were evaluated. It was found that the degree of crystallization of nano fiber was smaller than that of regular fiber, and amino end groups of nano fiber were less than regular fiber. Half dyeing time of nano fiber was shorter than regular fiber because of the bigger specific surface area. Effect of pH on exhaustion % was small in case of nano fiber. Exhaustion of nano fiber increased with higher concentration of dye.

Spalling Properties of 80MPa High Strength Concrete with Fiber (복합섬유(PP,NY)를 혼입한 설계강도 80MPa 3성분계 고강도콘크리트의 폭렬특성)

  • In this study, the fire resistance test was carried out with a parameter such as fiber(PP+NY) mixed ratio on high strength concrete with 80MPa, and the spalling resistance property was evaluated. Concrete material test was carried out with a parameter such as fiber(PP+NY) mixed ratio(0%, 0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2%) of high strength concrete with 80MPa. Although the flowability and the strength capacity were delicately decreased with a increase of fiber mixed ratio, they satisfied the target limits. As the spalling resistance property after the fire resistance test of 3 hours, the spalling was partly shown on the high strength concrete with fiber(PP+NY) mixed ratio of 0% but, wasn't shown on the high strength concrete with fiber(PP+NY) mixed ratio of 0.05% ~ 0.2%.
