Task characteristics were analyzed based on information provision extent, system quality and perceived effects while environmental characteristics based on competition extent, external pressure, environmental uncertainty, etc. As a result it was found that strategic suitability factors had a moderating effect between adoption performance and task characteristic variables such as system quality and perceived effect, environmental characteristics such as competition level, external pressure and environmental uncertainty. However, strategy suitability was found not to have any moderating role between task characteristic information provision extent and adoption performance. These findings indicate that enterprises need to plan and implement corporate management strategies and information-oriented development strategies in close coordination for new IT adoption and spread.

  • The term 'Unicorns' in the corporate ecosystem was firstly introduced by Aileen Lee in 2013. It has been actively discussed in South Korea particularly to compare the level of the 'start-up ecosystem' from a global perspective. Accordingly, the Korean government has recently set a policy goal 'to nurture 20 Korean unicorn companies by 2022'. While the phenomenon of 'Unicorn Club Company' has been brought to the level of policy objectives and spread more widely to the public, existing academic research to understand its substantial and underlying implications has been insufficient. First, in this study, the characteristics of 479 'Unicorn Club' companies in 2019 were analyzed in-depth. Previous research has focused on the general status and trend by analyzing the number of unicorn companies by country and industry classifications. However, this study conducted a qualitative exploratory analysis by investigating descriptive statistics about unicorn companies, including their investors, while providing case studies. Also, cluster analysis, ANOVA, and multi-level regression were employed for quantitative exploration. The characteristics of individual companies were examined based on the "ERIS Model (Entrepreneur - Industry(Market) - Resource - Strategy Model)". Secondly, factors influencing its valuations were examined in connection with the previously analyzed characteristic variables and investor characteristics. Finally, based on these, the future direction of the "Unicorn Phenomenon" from the perspective of "Enterprise Ecosystem" and productively using it from the perspective of the public policy is suggested.

  • This research focuses on what factors determine firm's decisions on R&D outsourcing and how R&D outsourcing affect R&D performance. In recent years many firms outsource R&D activities instead of internalizing it. Thus, further investigation is necessary to find out this recent trend. Based on several theoretical background the study developed three determining factors of R&D outsourcing which are transactional level, firm level, and risk level. Transactional level composes of independent variables such as R&D cost saving, asset specificity and uncertainty which mainly comes from Transaction Cost Economics theory. Firm level composes of openness to technology from outer source, R&D capability, and outsourcing experience. Risk level composes of technological risk, cost-related risk and managerial risk. The result shows that R&D outsourcing is significantly related to cost saving aspect, low asset specific firms, firms without solid technological background, firms which are open to external technology, firms with other types of outsourcing experience, and firms which take technological risks. However, proposed relationship between degree of R&D outsourcing and R&D performance found out to be insignificant. This research is contribute to the field of outsourcing study since it will give guidance to managers who need to make strategic decisions on R&D outsourcing activities.

  • Using small and medium sized firms located on 3th seongseo industry complex in Daegu, this study investigated the effects of technology development factors on innovation performance, and suggested the implications in terms of technology policies. Technology development factors are categorized into both fundamental based factors and external cooperation based factors as independent variables. According to the research results, external cooperation based factor positively affects innovation performance, and this positive effect is reported in firms having more than average firm size. Under environment uncertainty, external cooperation based factor plays a key role to increase innovation performance to firms having more than average firm size. Therefore, policy making should be focused on external cooperation, not on fundamental base such as people and infrastructure, and also dissimilar policy suggestion based firm size is needed to be considered.

  • This paper analyzes the factors affecting the relationship characteristics of firms and public research institutes, in-addition to analyzing the effect of relationship characteristics with the industry-public research institute cooperation. We selected factors influencing relationship characteristics of firms and public research institutes based on the study of existing industry-university-institute cooperation. These factors include the willingness of the industry-public research institute cooperation, firm's R&D capabilities, and the firm's perceived public research institutes competence. The relationship between these factors, their relationship characteristics, and the performance of the industry-public research institute cooperation was studied using six hypotheses. In order to test this research model, we conducted a survey on industry-public research institute cooperation firms and received responses from 116 companies. Partial Least Square-Multi Group Analysis (PLS-MGA) was used to test the research model. The results of the empirical analysis show the following results. First, the willingness of the industry-public research institute cooperation, firm's R&D capabilities and firm's perceived public research institutes competence have a positive impact on the relationship characteristics of firms and public research institutes. Second, the relationship characteristics of firms and public research institutes have a positive impact on firm performance in the industry-public research institute cooperation. Third, firm's R&D capabilities and firm's perceived public research institutes competence directly affect firm performance in the industry-public research institute cooperation. These results provide policy and practical implications for enhancing firm performance of the industry-public research institute cooperation.

  • In this study, I empirically analyzed the factors affecting export performance with domestic ICT companies. I set up 3 variables - companies' factors, marketing factors and factors of export supporting system - as the factors affecting export performance, based on findings of precedent studies; and I set up non-financial performance as a dependent variable. As a result of analysis, I found out that companies' factors(market orientation of CEO, competitiveness in export, experience of export) and marketing factors(diversification of overseas market, barriers to marketing), among the variables affecting export performance, were the variables affecting non-financial performance, set up as the export performance; but the factors of awareness, availability and difficulty, set up as the detail factor among factors of export supporting system, do not affect non-financial performance.
