주기적으로 극성이 반전된 ZnO 구조의 형성 및 응용

  • ZnO 직접 천이형의 와이드밴드갭 화합물 반도체로써 높은 엑시톤 결합 에너지를 가짐으로 해서 광전자나 광학디바이스로의 넓은 응용범위를 갖고 있다. 최근들어 ZnO의 비선형 광학 특성이 보고 됨으로써 새로운 광학 재료로서의 연구도 기대되고 있다. 본연구에서는 새로운 주기적 반전 구조를 제안함으로 해서 극성을 가지는 화합물 반도체의 비선형 광학 디바이스로의 응용 범위를 넓히고자 한다. ZnO는 Wurtzite 구조를 가짐으로 해서 성장 방향으로 Zn-극성 및 O-극성을 가지게 된다. 이런 자연 발생적인 극성에 의해 물리적, 화학적, 광학적 특성들이 바뀌게 됨으로, 극성의 제어는 재료의 특성을 극대화 시키기 위해 아주 중요한 항목이 되어 있습니다. 본 연구에서는 손쉽고 재현성이 확보되는 방법으로써, CrN 와 Cr2O 3의 완충층을 제안하여 ZnO 극성의 제어를 이루었고, 제안된 극성 제어 방식을 이용하여 주기적으로 Zn-극성과 O-극성이 배열된 구조(PPI 구조)를 형성 하였다. 패터닝과 재성장 방법을 통해서 다양한 구조와 사이즈의 1D, 2D PPI ZnO를 제작하는데 성공하였다. 주기적인 반전구조의 제작을 확인하기 위해 PRM(piezo response miscosocpy)이라는 방법을 통하여 주기적 극성 선택성을 확인하였으며, TEM과 PL 분석법을 통하여 구조적 광학적 특성을 분석하였다. 새롭게 제안된 극성 제어 방식을 이용하여 제작된 PPI 구조를 이용하여 비선형 광학소자로의 응용성을 확인하였다. 본발표에서는 PPI ZnO 구조의 형성방법, 분석 및 응용에 대한 제안과 결과가 논의될 것이다.

광환원법을 이용한 편극 패턴 된 강유전체 표면에 금속 나노입자의 선택적 성장

  • 본 연구에서는 편극 패턴된 강유전체 단결정 $LiNbO_3$ 기판에 광화학적 반응에 의해 금속(Au, Ag, Cu)나노입자를 표면에 선택적으로 성장하였다. 강유전체는 자발편극성의 특성을 지니고 있기 때문에 선택적으로 전압을 가하여 편극성의 역전에 의해 표면의 편극성을 선택적으로 패터닝이 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 주기적으로 양의 편극 영역과 음의 편극 영역이 패턴된 $LiNbO_3$ 기판을 사용하였다. 표면의 편극성은 압전소자반응현미경법(PFM)을 이용하여 확인하였으며, 극성은 R-V curve로 확인하였다. 금속입자는 금속입자를 포함하는 용액에 기판을 넣고 자외선을 조사하여 성장시켰다. 성장된 금속입자의 표면 분포 및 분석은 AFM을 이용하여 측정하였다. Ag 입자를 성장시킨 결과, (-z)편극 영역보다 (+z)편극영역에서 보다 많은 금속 나노입자들이 환원반응을 일으켜 나노입자를 형성하였으며, 경계영역 (inversion domain boundary)에 가장 많은 나노구조체가 형성되었다. Au 입자의 경우, (+z)편극영역이 (-z)편극영역의 표면보다 더 많은 입자가 형성되었지만 Ag입자처럼 편극영역의 경계에서 많이 증착되는 경향성은 보이지 않았다. Cu 입자의 경우 광화학반응을 거의 일으키지 않았으며, 편극영역에 따른 증착 경향성도 보이지 않았다. 이와 같은 결과를 증착된 금속 나노입자의 편극에 따른 표면분포를 강유전체 표면 극성에 따른 표면 밴드구조와, 각 입자가 지닌 환원전위와 전자친화도에 관련된 모델로 설명할 것이다.

A Crowdsourcing-based Emotional Words Tagging Game for Building a Polarity Lexicon in Korean (한국어 극성 사전 구축을 위한 크라우드소싱 기반 감성 단어 극성 태깅 게임)

  • Sentiment analysis refers to a way of analyzing the writer's subjective opinions or feelings through text. For effective sentiment analysis, it is essential to build emotional word polarity lexicon. This paper introduces a crowdsourcing-based game that we have developed for efficiently building a polarity lexicon in Korean. First, we collected a corpus from the relating Internet communities using a crawler, and we classified them into words using the Twitter POS analyzer. These POS-tagged words are provided as a form of mobile platform based tagging game in which the players voluntarily tagged the polarities of the words, and then the result was collected into the database. So far we have tagged the polarities of about 1200 words. We expect that our research can contribute to the Korean sentiment analysis research especially in the game domain by collecting more emotional word data in the future.

  • Rate constants of solvolysis of 2-thiophenesulfonyl chloride were determined in aqueous binary mixtures with methanol, ethanol, acetone in water and in methanol. These data are interpreted using the equation of Grunwald-Winstein and Kivinen relationship. Also, kinetic solvent isotope effects in water and in methanol and product selectivities in alcohol-water mixtures were determined. Kinetic solvent isotope effect for hydrolysis of 2-thiopenesulfonyl chloride was 2.24 and 1.47 for methanol and water, respectively. Selectivity values for formation of ester relative to acid in ethanol-water mixtures show maximum S value. From kinetic solvent isotope effect in methanol and water, selectivity data in aqueous alcoholic solvents and solvent effects, it is proposed that the reaction channel favoured in low polarity solvents is general-base catalysis and/or is possibly addition elimination (S$_A$N) reaction pathway and in high polarity solvents iS S$_N$2 reaction mechanism.

Physicochemical Properties and Composition of Ginsenosides in Red Ginseng Extract as Revealed by Subcritical Water Extraction (아임계수 추출에 의한 홍삼 추출물의 진세노사이드 조성 및 이화학적 특성)

  • Red ginseng was treated by subcritical water extraction (SWE) whose two parameters were the extraction temperature ($105-150^{\circ}C$) and time (5-20 min) under a high pressure. The oBrix value, solid content, color difference, and turbidity of the red ginseng extract increased with increasing extraction time and temperature, while the pH decreased. The total concentration of ginsenosides in the red ginseng extract was maximal at $120^{\circ}C$ and 20 min. The concentrations of ginsenosides Rg3 and Rh1 were maximal at $150^{\circ}C$ and 15 min. The concentrations of Rg3 and Rh1 were respectively 3.5-5 times and 2-2.5 times higher than those treated by conventional extraction methods with hot water, ethanol, and methanol. SWE is a particularly effective method for the selective extraction of less-polar ginsenosides such as Rg3 which is well known to exert strong anticancer effects.

Predicting Success of Government Policy in the Future with Futures Wheel and Text Mining : Predicting the Future Policy of Wage Peak System (텍스트 마이닝과 퓨쳐스 휠 기법을 활용한 정부정책의 미래 성공 예측 : 임금피크제의 미래 정책예측)

  • The purpose of this study is to predict future of wage-peak system by using text mining, futures wheel and polarity voting (+, -) techniques after reviewing a variety of documents. For this study, we collected articles, news articles, SNS(Twitter, Blog), research report documents. Above all, we extracted keywords for main subject words by utilizing text mining techniques. Next, we drew a final conclusion about future of wage-peak system by using futures wheel and polarity voting techniques. The result showed that future of wage peak system is positive. Two of five main topics were negatively predicted (favor/oppose of wage-peak system, solving task of wage-peak system), however, three of five main topics were positively predicted (background of wage-peak system, purpose/reason of wage-peak system, alternative wage-peak system). Therefore, because three of the five main topics were positively predicted, the future for wage-peak system is positive.

Baseline-Free Crack Detection in Steel Structures using Lamb Waves and PZT Polarity (램파와 압전소자 극성을 사용한 강구조의 실시간 균열손상 감지기법 개발)

  • A new methodology of guided wave based nondestructive testing (NDT) is developed to detect crack damage in civil infrastructures such as steel bridges without using prior baseline data. In conventional guided wave based techniques, damage is often identified by comparing the "current" data obtained from a potentially damaged condition of a structure with the "past" baseline data collected at the pristine condition of the structure. However, it has been reported that this type of pattern comparison with the baseline data can lead to increased false alarms due to its susceptibility to varying operational and environmental conditions of the structure. To develop a more robust damage diagnosis technique, a new concept of NDT is conceived so that cracks can be detected without direct comparison with previously obtained baseline data. The proposed NDT technique utilizes the polarization characteristics of the piezoelectric wafers attached on the both sides of the thin metal structure. Crack formation creates Lamb wave mode conversion due to a sudden change in the thickness of the structure. Then, the proposed technique instantly detects the appearance of the crack by extracting this mode conversion from the measured Lamb waves even at the presence of changing operational and environmental conditions. Numerical and experimental results are presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed technique to crack detection.

A Low Irritant Liquid Cleanser Composition Developed by Multi-Screening Methods (다탐색(多探索)법을 통한 저자극성 액체 세정제 조성물 개발)

  • Alkyl ethoxy sulfate type surfactants, widely used in commercial cleansers, are easily adsorbed to skin to often cause skin irritation and inflammation if not thoroughly rinsed nut. In order to replace or complement existing surfactants, we screened the existing surfactants through protein denaturation method, cell cytotoxicity assay and human IL-1$\alpha$ assay, etc. Fourteen surfactants have been chosen from among too irritant anionic, cationic and/or zwitter-ionic ones and investigated for cell cytotoxicity in human fibroblast cell lines using monolayer culture with the thirteen commercially available cleansers for sensitive skin. From these results, we selected 5 surfactants and 2 commercial cleansers (names not shown), such as sodium laureth sulfate (anionic), sodium cocoyl isethionate (anionic), sodium lauroamphoacetate (zwitter-ionic), and cocamidopropyl betaine (zwitter-ionic), alkyl polyglycoside (non-ionic). 20 formulations were made out of 5 surfactants and five of them were chosen through a protein denaturation method (lower than 3 M sodium dodecyl sulfate solution ($13.2\%$)), cell cytotoxicity and human patch test. These five selected formulations containing preservatives were compared to two selected commercial cleansers by cell cytotoxicity and human IL-1$\alpha$ ELISA assay using dermal equivalent. Finally, we selected the best formulation. To this formulation, fructan ($3\%$ or $5\%$) or/and portulaca extract ($3\%$ or $5\%$) well known for its anti-inflammatory and moisturizing effects were added and investigated for cell cytotoxicity using dermal equivalent. In cytotoxicity assay using dermal equivalent, two formulations containing $5\%$ fructan and $3\%$ or $5\%$ portulaca extract were less toxic than the others. In cytotoxicity assay and human IL-1$\alpha$ ELISA using 3D culture, the selected formulation containing $5\%$ fructan and $5\%$ portulaca extract showed better efficiency than those of the others and 2 commercial cleansers. As a result, we could develop a low irritant and safe liquid cleanser.

1,3-Dioxolane-Based CO2 Selective Polymer Membranes for Gas Separation (1,3-Dioxolane 기반 CO2 선택성 고분자막의 개발)

  • 1,3-Dioxolane is an exciting material that has attracted widespread interest in the chemical, paint, and pharmaceutical industries as a solvent, electrolyte, and reagent because 1,3-dioxolane is not toxic, carcinogenic, explosive, auto-flammable, and multifunctional, and due to their excellent miscibility in most organic and aqueous solvent conditions. Recently, this material has received increasing attention as a CO2-selective polymer precursor to separating CO2 from flue gas and natural gas mixtures. Poly(1,3-dioxolane) (PDXL) possesses higher ether oxygen content than polyethylene oxide (PEO), which demonstrates superior membrane CO2/N2 separation properties owing to their polar ether oxygen groups exhibiting strong affinity toward CO2. Thus, PDXL-based membranes displayed an outstanding CO2 solubility selectivity over non-polar (N2, H2, and CH4) gases. However, the polar groups of PDXL, like PEO, promote chain packing efficiency and cause polymer crystallization, thereby reducing its gas permeability, which should be improved. In this short review, we discuss the recent advancement and limitations of PDXL membranes in gas separation applications. To conclude, we provide future perspectives for inhibiting the limits of 1,3-dioxolane-based polymers in the CO2 separation process.

Selective Adsorption of Flavonoids Compounds from the Leaf of Ginkgo biloba L. (은행(Ginkgo biloba L)의 잎으로부터의 Flavonoids 화합물의 선택적 흡착)

  • Selective adsorption of plant metabolites from a polar dilute solution onto a polycarboxyl ester sorbent (XAD-7) was investigated. Experimental results demonstrated that neutral resins could selectively concentrate specific flavonoids from dilute aqueous mixtures. Adsorption was dependent on the pH of medium, dosage of the resins and medium composition. Especially the medium composition was a key factor for the selective adsorption and it was found that the selective adsorption was dependent on specific sorbent-sorbate-medium characteristics. Under the optimum condition, selectivity increased up to 85% and the yield of recovery was approached to 98%. It was also found that XAD-7 adsorbed flavonoids in the order of hydrophobicity.
