Current Psychological Studies on Deductive Reasoning (연역추리에 관한 심리학 연구 동향)

  • 지금까지 간략히 살펴본 것처럼 심리학에서 연역추리를 연구하는 이론과 가정이 변화하고 있는데, 크게 네 가지 흐름으로 요약할 수 있다[2,6,7]. 가장 큰 변화는 연역 추리와 귀납 추리의 구분이 점차로 흐려지고 있다는 것이다. 두 번째 변화는 연역 추리를 이해하는 관점이 달라지고 있다는 점이다. 심리학에서 연역추리를 본격적으로 다루기 시작한 1960년대에는 사람들이 논리적인 사고를 하느냐에 관심이 모아졌다. 그러다 1980년대와 1990년대에는 연역추리를 하는 기제에 관한 심성 논리 이론과 심성 모형 이론 간의 논쟁이 치열하게 전개되면서 내용효과와 같은 실용적 요인들에 대한 연구도 많이 수행되었다. 그리고 1990년대 들어서면서 연역추리를 정보 획득의 관점에서 접근하는 확률적 접근, 연역 추리 과정을 heuristic 처리 단계와 분석적 처리 단계로 나누어 접근하는 이중 과정 이론이 등장하면서 기본적인 이론틀의 변화도 일어나고 있다. 세 번째 변화는 연역 추리를 문제 해결이나 의사결정과 같은 다른 인지 처리와 연결하려는 시도들이 진행되고 있다는 점이다. 마지막으로 심리학의 다른 분야에서와 마찬가지로 연역 추리에 관여하는 뇌 부위를 알아보는 뇌 영상 연구들이 점차 증가하고 있다. 이런 연구들의 결과로 연역 추리 과정에 대한 다차원적인 이해가 증진되고 다른 인지과정과도 연동되는 종합적 이해가 가능해질 것으로 예상한다.

  • 본 논문은 영 호남 양 지역의 백색가전제품(냉장고, 세탁기 두 제품에 한정함)제조기지에서 출시되는 제품의 원가분석을 통해서 강한 원가우위를 유지할 수 있을 것인가 하는 문제에 대해 먼저 양 지역의 산업군집(regional cluster)의 형성요인, 발전요인 및 경쟁력 현황을 1차, 2차 자료의 수집을 통해 분석하고 가용자료의 한계속에서 제품별 원가구성을 도시하여 비교하였다. 위 두 분석의 결과를 가지고 가용전략을 도출하였다. 글로벌 경쟁속에서 지속적인 비교우위는 점차 멀리 떨어져있는 경쟁자들이 대적할 수 없는 지방적인 것, 그것이 지식이건 관련성이건 아니면 개인 및 집단의 성취동기이건 간에, 그 내부에 놓이게 된다. 양 지역 가전산업의 발전전략으로 재료비 비중의 혁신적 절감방안(신소재 개발 R&D 추구), 국내외 관련산업과의 전략적 제휴, 고유의 우위요소 개발, 지역군집 또는 집적효과의 이용, SERM모형의 대입, 품질원가제도의 강화 등을 연역 귀납하였다.

  • The ability to think mathematically and to reason inductively are basics of logical reasoning and the most important skill which students need to acquire through their Math curriculum in elementary school. For these reasons, we need to conduct an analysis in their procedure in inductive reasoning and find difficulties thereof. Therefore, through this study, I found parts which covered inductive reasoning in their Math curriculum and analyzed the abilities and characteristics of students in solving a problem through inductive reasoning.

  • 지난 10년간 네트워크 기반의 컴퓨터 공격은 급격히 증가했으며 이에 따라 보안 기술도 발달하게 되었다. 침입탐지시스템은 컴퓨터 보안 기술로써 발전되어 왔으나 과도한 침입시도정보의 발생과 그 대부분이 긍정오류(false positive)를 발생시킴으로써 실제로 관리하는데 많은 어려움을 준다. 이러한 문제에 대안으로 여러 연구들이 진행되어 왔으며, 침입시도정보의 축약을 통한 관리적 측면에서의 효율을 높이는 연구도 진행되고 있다 그러한 연구들의 한 방법으로서 속성중심귀납법(Attribute Oriented induction, 이하 AOI)은 침입시도정보를 속성정보에 기반 하여 의미 있는 묶음으로 클러스터링 하는 방식이다 본 논문은 이 방식에서의 문제점을 분석하였으며 그 해결책으로써 본 논문에서는 위협수위 기반 AOI 클러스터링 기법을 제시하였다.

Development of the Items for the Assessment of Mathematical Thinking (수학적 사고력 측정을 위한 수학 평가 도구의 개발)

  • The study aims the introducing the items for the assessment of mathematical thinking including mathematical reasoning, problem solving, and communication and the analyzing on the responses of the 5th grade pupils. We categorized the area of mathematical reasoning into deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, and analogy; problem solving into external problem solving and internal one; and communication into speaking, reading, writing, and listening. And we proposed the examples of our items for each area and the 5th grade pupils' responses. When we assess on pupil's mathematical reasoning, we need to develop very appropriate items needing the very ability of each kind of mathematical reasoning. When pupils solve items requesting communication, the impact of the form of each communication seem to be smaller than that of the mathematical situation or sturucture of the item. We suggested that we need to continue the studies on mathematical assessment and on the constitution and utilization of cognitive areas, and we also need to in-service teacher education on the development of mathematical assessments, based on this study.

A Case Study on the Features of General Citizen's Scientific Participation and Action: Focus on the Case of Responding to Fine Dust Issue (일반 시민의 과학적 참여와 실천 사례 연구: 미세먼지 문제 대응 활동을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate qualitatively two cases of general citizens' scientific participation and activities responding to fine dust problem. The processes of their scientific actions were investigated and categorized inductively based on three stages: problem recognition stage, information collection and analysis stage, and sharing and spreading stage. As a result, in the 'problem recognition' stage, two participants recognized the seriousness of the fine dust problem as they felt a threat to their health and began to act practically by questioning the accuracy of public data. In the 'information collection and analysis' stage, a participant collected as much information as possible and compared them in order to obtain more accurate information for her situation. On the other hand, another participant conducted various experiments in person to get the information which is appropriate to his situation. Finally, in the 'Sharing and Spreading' stage, both participants created and shared various materials based on online environment, and continued their activities with a sense of contribution through others assistance. Educational implications are discussed in terms of civic science education and scientific literacy.

VOQL* : A Visual Object Query Language with Inductively-Defined Formal Semantics (VOQL* : 귀납적으로 정의된 형식 시맨틱을 지닌 시각 객체 질의어)

  • The Visual Object Query Language (VOQL) recently proposed for object databases has been successful in visualizing path expressions and set-related conditions, and providing formal semantics. However, VOQL has several problems. Due to unrealistic assumptions, only set-related conditions can be represented in VOQL. Due to the lack of explicit language construct for the notion of variables, queries are often awkard and less intuitive. In this paper, we propose VOQL*, which extends VOQL to remove these drawbacks. We introduce the notion of visual variables and refine the syntax and semantics of VOQL based on visual variables. We carefully design the language constructs of VOQL* to reflect the syntax of OOPC, so that the constructs such as visual variables, visual elements, VOQL* simple terms, VOQL* structured terms, VOQL* basic formulas, VOQL* formulas, and VOQL* query expressions are hierarchically and inductively constructed as those of OOPC. Most important, we formally define the semantics of each language construct of VOQL* by induction using OOPC. Because of the well-defined syntax and semantics, queries in VOQL* are clear, concise, and intuitive. We also provide an effective procedure to translate queries in VOQL* into those in OOPC. We believe that VOQL* is the first visual query language with the well-defined syntax reflecting the syntactic structure of logic and semantics formally defined by induction.

Study on Legato in Vocal Music Performance (성악 발성에서의 레가토(Legato)에 대한 연구)

  • In order to study the role of legato to singers in vocal music performance, this paper adopts the methods of demonstration and induction and comparison to analyze the three factors affecting the creation of legato in performance and propose solutions. When thinking about the influence of singing skills on legato, singers will be able to solve such issues as breathing, articulation and vocal register, thus improving their singing skills. When thinking about the influence of singing language on legato, singers will make an in-depth study on the phonetic and structural features of the language to reach legato in language, thus promoting the in-depth study of singers on the singing language. When thinking about the influence of singing emotion on legato, singers will solve the problem of emotional coherence from two aspects of thought and emotion to create legato of emotion, thus promoting the expression of singers' emotion in the work. Obviously, legato plays an important role in improving singers' singing skills, singing language and singing emotion. The aim of the paper is to encourage singers to further deepen their attention to legato in vocal music performance and make better use of legato in singing.

Logical Evolution for Concept Learning (개념학습을 위한 논리적 진화방식)

  • In this paper we present Logical Evolution method which is a new teaming algorithm for the concepts expressed as binary logic function. We try to solve some problems of Inductive Learning algorithms through Logical Evolution. First, to be less affected from limited prior knowledge, it generates features using the gained informations during learning process and learns the concepts with these features. Second, the teaming is done using not the whole example set but the individual example, so even if new problem or new input-output variables are given, it can use the previously generated features. In some cases these old features can make the teaming process more efficient. Logical Evolution method consists of 5 operations which are selected and performed by the logical evaluation procedure for feature generation and learning process. To evaluate the performance of the present algorithm, we make experiments on MONK data set and a newly defined problem.

A Study on Binomial Coefficient as an Enriched Learning Topic for the Mathematically Gifted Students (수학영재의 심화학습을 위한 이항계수 연구)

  • In this paper, we did a study on the definition and properties of binomial coefficients which can be seen with the topic for the enrichment of mathematically gifted students. Using this result, studied the problem of how to solve equations containing the binomial coefficients by using the mathematical induction, binomial theorem, the definition of the combination, and road network model situations. And such contents can be adequately dealt with the subject of mathematics enrichment gifted and talented Education because mathematically gifted students may well be the subject of inquiry. In addition, it can be used to study the subject to experience a deep sense of mathematics. As this research, it will be introduced as an example to guide students.
