  • This study approached the military security problem from the viewpoint of social psychology in view of the fact that the military security problem has been focused on the technical field such as cyber security along with the development of defense science and technology. In this background, we examined the causal relationship between variables after extracting variables affecting the security problem of the military through previous research. The significance of the study results is as follows. First, the military culture has a direct and indirect influence on improving the willingness to adhere to security and the security level of military organizations, as well as contributing to the establishment of military values. This indicates that the overall organizational culture of the current military is influencing the security consciousness of the soldiers and the achievement of organizational security, while at the same time showing the need for effort to create the right organizational culture. Second, the values of soldiers had a positive effect on the willingness of the individual to obey the security and the security performance. Values begin with an understanding of organizational culture and indicate that efforts can be made to establish an organizational security posture when the right values are formed. Third, we have improved the completeness of the study by verifying the causal relationship by extracting variables that correspond to the context of the ROK military.

  • In today's military, significant efforts are being made to achieve organizational effectiveness by adapting to the changing characteristics of its members. Currently, South Korea's military organizations, including division-level and below, are primarily composed of the MZ generation, which places great importance on personal satisfaction and values. They believe it is unfair if others do not acknowledge their preferences and opinions. Therefore, there is a need for the military to improve various command methods and organizational culture in line with the characteristics of these organizational members. This study analyzed the characteristics and key elements of mission command in the German military, a militarily advanced country. By examining the case of the German military, we should consider and adopt the adoption of a 'mission command' system that suits the reality of the South Korean military organization, with a focus on the MZ generation, which constitutes the core of our military organization.

  • With the rapid increase of multicultural families in South Korea due to international marriages and the influx of foreign workers, the number of children from these families enlisting in the military is also rising. It is projected that by 2030, over 10,000 recruits from multicultural backgrounds will join the military annually. This influx can help mitigate the issue of decreasing military resources due to low birth rates and enhance the cultural diversity within the military. However, the lack of multicultural awareness and the presence of discrimination in the military can hinder the well-being of these multicultural soldiers. This study aims to analyze the multicultural phenomenon in the Korean military and explore development strategies to ensure the stable service and healthy military culture for multicultural soldiers. The theoretical background of multiculturalism and diversity in the military is examined, along with the analysis of multicultural military operations in other countries. Management strategies for multicultural soldiers, including leadership and organizational culture innovation, multicultural education and awareness programs, and the establishment of tailored support systems, are proposed. Furthermore, policy recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness of multicultural policies in the Korean military are presented. Supporting the successful military service of multicultural soldiers will contribute to the enhancement of military combat power and the acceptance of multiculturalism in Korean society.

  • This study analyzes the increasingly severe issue of recruiting military officer personnel due to low birth rates and social changes, and seeks to explore recruitment strategies that consider the characteristics of the MZ generation. The military strives to maintain security amidst ongoing military threats from North Korea, but the sharp decline in birth rates significantly impacts conscription resources and personnel recruitment. Additionally, the shift in values among the MZ generation and the cultural gap between them and the military organization make it challenging to attract outstanding talents. The MZ generation values work-life balance, horizontal relationships, and self-fulfillment, finding the authoritative and hierarchical military culture unattractive. Therefore, this study aims to diagnose the problems in military personnel recruitment and propose tailored recruitment strategies reflecting the characteristics of the MZ generation, ultimately exploring sustainable development directions for the future military.

  • In terms of population structure, korea military power has entered a serious danger zone, and that birth rate has led not only to a decrease in the population of the nation's economic activity, but also to a decrease in troop resources in our last security bastion, and the trend of "children from multicultural families" joining the army is predicted to soon become a "cultural force" with an average of 8,000 troops expected to join the army between 2025 and 2031. • The rapidly changing security environment and technological innovations of the 21st century present new challenges to military organizations. Particularly, as the MZ generation, comprised of Millennials (born 1981-1996) and Generation Z (born 1997-2012), emerges as the primary workforce in the military, traditional military personnel management methods are being called into question. The MZ generation, as digital natives, are technologically proficient, prioritize personal growth and quality of life, and prefer horizontal communication and participation. The purpose of this study is to reestablish talent acquisition and retention strategies for military organizations, considering the characteristics and demands of the MZ generation. To this end, we analyzed advanced talent management techniques from the corporate sector and explored ways to apply them to the unique context of military organizations. Additionally, by examining the current status and challenges of the Korean military, we attempted a balanced approach that considers both global trends and Korea's specific circumstances. The research results suggest various strategies including career development programs, cultural innovation, improvement of reward systems, participatory decision-making, enhancement of digital competencies, and creation of flexible work environments. These strategies are expected to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of military organizations while simultaneously enhancing job satisfaction and organizational commitment among MZ generation service members.

  • This study was designed to investigate the effects of Korean 1% Shanshuyu extract in Pb administered rats. Forty male Sprague-Dawley rats weighed 100 l0g were used for this experiment and divided into following 4 groups; Con(control group), Shan(1% Shanshuyu extract), Pb(1,000ppm alone lead administered group), Pb-Shan(1,000ppm alone lead administered group with 1% Shanshuyu extract group). Food intake weight and FER(Food efficiency ratio) were remarkably decreased in lead added group. Tissue weight of liver, lung, stomach, heart, kidney and spleen of lead exposed rats were reduced by 1% Shanshuyu extract group. The lead content in the rats tissue of lead alone administered group was lower than in the rats tissue of lead administered group with 1% Shanshuyu extract group. AST(Asparatate transferase) and ALT(Alanine transferase) were increased in lead-administered group and lower in the 1% Shanshuyu extract group. These results suggested that 1% Shanshuyu extract may have some protective effects from of tissue demage induce with Lead.
