The Impact of the Government's R&D Support and the Introduction of Stock Options by Venture Companies on the Innovation Achievement of Venture Companies (정부의 R&D 지원과 벤처기업의 스톡옵션제도 활용이 벤처기업의 혁신성과에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the government's R&D support and the use of stock options by venture companies on the innovation of venture companies, that is, innovation capabilities and innovation performance. An empirical analysis was conducted using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method using the data from the detailed survey of venture companies conducted on domestic venture confirmation companies. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the benefit of government R&D support had a positive (+) effect on strengthening the innovation capabilities of venture companies, and R&D support also had a positive (+) effect on the innovation performance of venture companies. Next, it was found that the use of stock options by venture companies had a positive (+) effect on the reinforcement of the innovation capabilities of companies and a positive (+) effect on the innovation performance of venture companies. In addition, it was found that the innovation capabilities of venture companies significantly mediate between the government's R&D support and the use of stock options by venture companies and the innovation performance of companies. These analysis results show that the government's R&D support and the use of stock option systems can play a meaningful role in the innovation of venture companies, and also show that the innovation capabilities of venture companies have an important meaning in the process of innovation. Therefore, it is necessary to continue the stance of R&D support for ventures and at the same time to introduce multi-faceted policy measures to support corporate capacity building, and legal and institutional maintenance and policy support to revitalize the stock option system need to be continuously provided.

  • This raises the question of how competitive advantage can be created, prompting firms to enhance their capacity for change. In this context, the role of knowledge creation becomes increasingly vital. This research aims to explore the role of intellectual capital and how to improve knowledge cration ability through absorptive capacity framework. It examines the links among knowledge acquisition, learning of new knowledge, knowledge creation, intellectual capital, and competitive advantage, drawing from both internal and external sources. The study focuses on small and medium-sized supplier firms in Korea, with data collected from 15 industries, totaling 106 responses. The research model employs structural equation modeling (SEM) and utilizes AMOS 22 for analysis. As anticipated, all hypotheses were supported. The study provides robust evidence that absorptive capacity is a pivotal factor in cultivating suppliers' competitive advantage. Furthermore, it posits that intellectual capital should be viewed as a criucial component of suppliers' knowledge stock, significantly enhancing the impact of absorptive capacity on their competitive edge. Future studies should aim to validate the research model in different international settings or across multinational corporations to enhance its generalizabulity.

A study on the relationship between organizational silence, organizational cynicism, and organizational commitment: Focusing on church organizations (조직 침묵, 조직 냉소주의, 조직 몰입 간 관계 연구: 교회조직을 중심으로)

  • Recently, church organizations are experiencing various problems, including a sharp decline in the number of members. This study focused on the problem of lack of communication, that is, organizational silence, which is commonly pointed out in previous studies as a problem of church organizations, and empirically analyzed the relationship between organizational silence, organizational cynicism, and organizational commitment within church organizations. For this purpose, a questionnaire was distributed to 210 members of churches and related organizations from May to June 2023, of which 202 copies were used as analysis data. SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 were used to perform frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, correlation analysis, structural equation model analysis, and bootstrapping to verify mediation effects. As a result of the study, organizational silence had a negative effect on organizational cynicism, and organizational cynicism had a negative effect on organizational commitment. Although organizational silence did not have a direct negative effect on organizational commitment, it was found to have a negative effect mediated by organizational cynicism. This study expanded the scope of the study by applying variables from organizational theory to church organizations, and presented practical implications through the research results to church organizations.

A study on the relationship between the organizational culture, generational conflict, and organizational commitment of Hotel companies : Focusing on M Generation and Z Generation Differences (호텔기업의 조직문화와 세대 갈등, 조직몰입 간의 관계에 대한 연구 : M세대, Z세대 차이를 중심으로)

  • Currently, South Korea is grappling with a paradoxical situation characterized by simultaneous labor shortages and job shortages. Within this context, retirees are citing conflicts with supervisors/colleagues and dissatisfaction with organizational culture as the primary reasons for their departure, with these issues disproportionately affecting the MZ generation. In response, scholars have conducted preliminary studies to understand the relationships between organizational culture and other variables specifically concerning the MZ generation. However, most of these studies are based on a unified theory of the MZ generation, failing to satisfy the practical demands for distinguishing between Generations M and Z. Therefore, this research aims to explore the differences in variable relationships between these two groups within the hospitality industry. Surveys were conducted among 170 individuals from Generation M and 110 from Generation Z, and the data were analyzed using AMOS structural equation modeling. The analysis confirmed that both hierarchical culture and generational conflict significantly define relationships across all generations, with generational conflict adversely affecting organizational commitment. Additionally, while a relationship-oriented culture negatively impacts generational conflict for Generation M, no such effect was observed for Generation Z. This study successfully identifies the differential impacts between Generation M and Generation Z.

An identification of determinants to the development of intrapreneurial intention in small & medium sized local hospital in South Korea

  • Purpose: The present study identified the determinants in the development of intrapreneurial intention in small and medium-sized local hospitals. A careful literature review led to the development of a conceptual model which identified two types of employee competence-individual competence and managerial competence-to influence intrapreneurial orientation positively. It was hypothesized that intrapreneurial orientation predicts intrapreneurial intention and is mediated by intrapreneurial commitment. Methodology/Approach: The target population was chosen from two medical institutions of 'D' Hospital and 'E' Geriatric Hospital in Changwon City, South Korea. Samples were collected from 299 respondents who completed a structured questionnaire. Findings: The results from a structural equation modeling statistical analysis indicated that (1) individual competence and managerial competence positively and significantly predict intrapreneurial orientation, (2) intrapreneurial orientation positively and significantly influences intrapreneurial intention, (3) intrapreneurial commitment partially mediates the relation of intrapreneurial orientation to intrapreneurial intention, and (4) the mediation effect of intrapreneurial commitment was significant in the medical-personnel group, but not in the non-medical group. Practical Implications: Overall findings from the present work provide vital insights into understanding the preconditions for developing employee intrapreneurship in small and medium-sized local hospitals.

The MZ Generation's Fear of Startup Failure : Effects of Financial, Psychological, and Behavioral Factors (MZ세대의 창업실패두려움 : 재정적, 심리적, 행동적 요인의 영향)

  • This study investigated the factors influencing the fear of failure in starting a business among the MZ generation(Millennials and Generation Z). The research focused on financial, psychological, and behavioral factors affecting this fear of failure and employed empirical analysis using structural equation model on data collected from 200 members of the MZ generation. Key findings included: Financial factor(lack of accessible finance) significantly increased the fear of startup failure. Psychological factors(aversion to risk and aversion to stress) also significantly contributed to the fear of failure. The influence of behavioral factor(aversion to hard work) on fear of failure was not statistically significant. Among these, aversion to stress had the strongest impact, followed by aversion to risk and lack of accessible finance. Fear of startup failure was found to have a significant negative effect on the intention to start a business among the MZ generation. Furthermore, fear of startup failure mediated the relationship between psychological factors(aversion to risk and aversion to stress) and behavioral factor(aversion to hard work) and entrepreneurial intention. However, the mediating effect between financial factor(lack of accessible finance) and entrepreneurial intention was not tested. These findings contributed academically by offering a more detailed analysis of factors affecting entrepreneurial intentions compared to previous studies. Practically, the results suggested ways to mitigate the fear of failure to enhance the entrepreneurial intentions of the MZ generation.

Impact of Environmental Factors on Digital Transformation of Small and Medium Enterprises : CEO's Perception as a Moderating Effect (환경요인이 중소기업 디지털 트랜스포메이션에 미치는 영향 : 최고경영자의 인식을 조절 효과로)

  • This study was conducted to empirically analyze the impact of environmental factors on small and medium-sized enterprises' intention to adopt digital transformation. A research model was derived for empirical analysis. Environmental factors were subdivided into independent variables, including industrial competitive pressure, labor shortage, government support, and lack of financial resources, with CEO's perception serving as a moderating variable. A survey targeted executives and employees of small and medium-sized enterprises, and 240 valid responses were selected for analysis. The structural equation method using Amos 24 was employed for the empirical analysis. The findings indicated that industrial competitive pressure and government support had a significant positive influence on the intention to adopt digital transformation, while lack of financial resources had a significant negative effect. The significance of labor shortage was not tested. The order of influence on the intention to adopt was government support, industrial competitive pressure, and lack of financial resources. In terms of the impact of industrial competitive pressure and lack of financial resources on the intention of small and medium enterprises to adopt digital transformation, it was found that in groups with low CEO perception, the lack of financial resources had a negative effect. On the other hand, in the case of the group with high perception, industrial competitive pressure was found to have a significant positive effect. These research results were academically meaningful as they produced significant findings by focusing on environmental factors among the various factors that affect the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises. Practically, it can be said that the importance of the role of top management in small and medium-sized enterprises was emphasized anew

Verification of the mediating effect of self-control in the influence of grit on college students' self-efficacy (대학생의 자기효능감에 대한 그릿의 영향에서 자기통제의 매개효과 검증)

  • Purpose of Study : The purpose of this study is to verify whether self-control has a mediating effect on the influence of grit on college students' self-efficacy, which has a significant impact on academic achievement. Research content and methods : In order to verify the influence of grit and self-control on college students' self-efficacy, this study first selected measurement tools for self-efficacy, grit, and self-control and created an online questionnaire. Next, a survey was conducted on 128 students at University A in Chungcheongnam-do. Descriptive statistical analysis and bivariate correlation analysis were performed on the collected data to verify the normality of the data and multicollinearity between factors. In addition, multiple regression analysis was used to verify the influence of grit and self-control on self-efficacy. Next, the effect of grit on self-efficacy was analyzed using structural equation modeling to verify whether self-control mediates it. As a result of the analysis, overall self-efficacy was influenced by the reliability of self-control and academic passion of grit. Self-confidence, a sub-factor of self-efficacy, was influenced by reliability of self-control and academic passion of grit. Self-regulation efficacy was influenced by the reliability of self-control and academic persistence of grit. Preference for task difficulty was influenced by grit, maintenance of academic interest, and self-control. Next, self-control was found to mediate the effect of grit on self-efficacy. Conclusion and Recommendations : This study explored the effects of grit and self-control on college students' self-efficacy. As a result, grit and self-control had a positive effect on self-efficacy. Additionally, self-control was found to mediate the effect of grit on self-efficacy. This study proposes to support grit and self-control in order to support successful academic achievement of college students.

The Effects of Task Difficulty and Perceived Colleague Support on Work Grit and Career Identity (과업난이도와 동료지원인식이 업무그릿과 경력정체성에 미치는 영향)

  • Individual career development is getting more important in modern society. In this study, we investigated the effects of task difficulty and perceived colleague support to work grit and career identity, which are the most fundamental aspects of career development. To achieve the research goal, a total of 544 complete responses from the employees in South Korea were used for data analysis. The data was analyzed using structural equation modeling. The research results are as follows. First, task difficulty positively affect work grit. Second, perceived colleague support was found to have a statistically significant effect on work grit. Third, the path from task difficulty to career identity was not statistically significant. Fourth, perceived colleague support was shown to have a statistically significant effect on career identity. Fifth, work grit was found to have a statistically significant effect on career identity. Sixth, work grit was found to mediate the relationship between task difficulty, perceived colleague support, and career identity. These findings suggest that work grit plays a crucial mediating role in the impact of task difficulty and perceived colleague support on career identity. This underscores the need for continued in-depth exploration of work grit. Based on these research results, discussions and suggestions are presented.

Relationship between Presenteeism, Service Performance, and Turnover Intention of Beauty Workers: Mediation Effect of Job Burnout (뷰티 종사자의 프리젠티즘이 직무성과와 이직의도와의 관계 : 직무소진의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the mediating effect of beauty workers' presenteeism on job burnout in the relationship between job performance and job turnover. The participants in this study were 272 beauty workers in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, and data were collected through a structured questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation, structural equation model, and mediation effect analysis using bootstrapping method using SPSS and AMOS 26.0 statistical programs. The conclusions drawn through a series of research procedures are as follows. First, beauty workers' presenteeism was found to have a statistically significant positive (+) effect on job burnout. Second, beauty workers' presenteeism showed a statistically significant positive (+) effect on turnover intention, but no significant relationship was found with job performance. Third, job burnout among beauty workers was found to have a statistically significant effect on job performance and turnover intention. Fourth, as a result of analyzing the mediating effect of beauty workers' presenteeism on job burnout in the relationship between job performance and turnover intention, the effect of presenteeism on job performance through job burnout showed a complete mediating effect, and it was different from turnover intention. It showed a partial mediation effect.
