  • In this study, we consider the meaning of one-to-one correspondence through theoretical background under operation of matrix. On algebraic point of view, its significance is 'through one-to-one correspondence from a set with given structure, become a methods in order to induce an algebraic system in to a new set.' That is a key idea making isomorphic structure. Such process experiences necessity of mathematical fact, as well as the deep understanding of one-to-one correspon -dence. Also that becomes a base for develop a various mathematical concepts, such as matrix, exponential laws, symmetric difference, permutation and so on. This study help teachers and students to understand of mathematical concepts meaningfully and to facilitate teacher's professional development.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate students' problem solving process based on the model of IDEAL if they learn to solve word problems of simultaneous linear equations through structure-representation instruction. The problem solving model of IDEAL is followed by stages; identifying problems(I), defining problems(D), exploring alternative approaches(E), acting on a plan(A). 160 second-grade students of middle schools participated in a study was classified into those of (a) a control group receiving no explicit instruction of structure-representation in word problem solving, and (b) a group receiving structure-representation instruction followed by IDEAL. As a result of this study, a structure-representation instruction improved word-problem solving performance and the students taught by the structure-representation approach discriminate more sharply equivalent problem, isomorphic problem and similar problem than the students of a control group. Also, students of the group instructed by structure-representation approach have less errors in understanding contexts and using data, in transferring mathematical symbol from internal learning relation of word problem and in setting up an equation than the students of a control group. Especially, this study shows that the model of direct transformation and the model of structure-schema in students' problem solving process of I and D stages.

  • The purpose of this study is to classify the type of retirement process among the mature-aged in Korea. The study used the panel data from Korean Labor Panel (year2~6) for the classification of retirement process through Optimal Matching and Cluster Analysis. Classification is made in 5 categories as 'peripheral-economically active', 'private-transfer dependent', 're-entering limited', 'securely exiting', 'exit-and-reentering'. First, "peripheral-economically active" is a group which frequently experienced job status change and work insecurity. Second, "private-transfer dependent" is a group in which private transfer is likely to be supplements income in the incidence of unemployment. Third, "re-entering limited" is a group in which the proportion of no financial support combined with the absence of any economic activity is the largest. Fourth, the type "Securely exit" is th group whose members switches over to non-economically active status with pension receipt. The last type is "exit-and-reenter" that the member are highly possible to reenter in the labor market and stay in long time regardless of with or without pension plan. To examine the inequality among the types of retirement process, the duration of each status is analyzed. First, in the situation of being non-economically active, the duration of status is maintain public pension receiving and duration stabile in "securely exit" group. For "private-transfer dependent" type, members are mostly dependent on private financial support and that duration of it is longest. Through the analysis of retirement process without under other financial supports, it is "securely-exiting" type for which the duration of full-time employment is longest. It appears that the duration of part-time employment is longest in "peripheral-economically active" type. And for the case of non-waged employment it is "exit-and-reenter" type. Finally, the redistribution policy based on life course perspective is necessary to prevent that the opportunity in the structure before retirement stage and the unfavorable position in labor market make worse disadvantage in retirement process and after that.

  • The finite element method(FEM) has been commonly used for structural dynamic analysis. However, the direct global application of FEM to large complex structures such as ships and offshore structures requires considerable computational efforts, and remarkably more in structural dynamic optimization problems. Adoption of the component-mode synthesis method is an efficient means to overcome the above difficulty. Among three classes of the component-mode synthesis method, the free-interface mode method is recognized to have the advantages of better computational efficiency and easier implementation of substructures' experimental results, but the disadvantage of lower accuracy in analytical results. In this paper, an advanced method to improve the accuracy in the application of the free-interface mode method for the vibration analysis of large complex structures is presented. In order to compensate the truncation effect of the higher modes of substructures in the synthesis process, both residual inertia and stiffness effects are taken into account and a frequency shifting technique is introduced in the formulation of the residual compliance of substructures. The introduction of the frequency shrift ins not only excludes cumbersome manipulation of singular matrices for semi-definite substructural systems but gives more accurate results around the specified shifting frequency. Numerical examples of typical structural models including a ship-like two dimensional finite element model show that the analysis results based on the presented method are well competitive in accuracy with those obtained by the direst global FEM analysis for the frequencies which are lower than the highest one employed in the synthesis with remarkably higher computational efficiency and that the presented method is more efficient and accurate than the fixed-interface mode method.

  • Since three has never been any incidence of having investigated kilns for firing soft stoneware in the proto-three kingdoms period so far, how they structured by reviewing historic literature and material was preconsidered in this study. It is presumed that after both Gimhae Daeseongdong-type and Sacheon Bonggyeri-type kilns for firing earthenware coexist early, through an internal alteration process which is mutually complex and momentous, the floor of plastic room has been flattened or slanted and expanded little by little into the closed-kiln structure. It seems that the structure of kilns for firing soft stoneware was a horizontal combustion type(水平燃燒式) and its plane shape was close to being rectangular in shape unlike that of kilns for firing stoneware found in Honam and Hoseo province in the period of (proto-) three kingdoms. On the other hand, it is likely that the horizontal combustion type structure of kilns for firing stoneware excavated in Samyong-ri, Jincheon preceded the vertical combustion type(垂直燃燒式)that of kilns for firing stonewere found in Sansu-ri. In addition, the term, monumeut for firing earthenware must be changed to kiln for firing earthenware and the terms of Pyeungyo(平窯) and Dyengyo(登窯) can be applied to kilns for firing tiles. Thus, it does not seem likely that the absolute equality that Wajil earthenware(soft stoneware) pottery is Pyeungyo and stoneware pottery is Dyeungyo is applied in all cases.

  • A semi-active MR damper landing gear is a damper that generates a fluid damping force and a magnetic field control damping force when the MR fluid passes through annular flow paths. In the case of MR fluid passing through annular flow paths, an incompletely developed flow inevitably occurs, causing an error in calculating damper inner forces including the fluid damping force. This error results in an inaccurate design of damper structural parameters and control gain selection, resulting in deterioration of dynamic characteristics and shock absorption performance of the landing gear. In this paper, we derived a mathematical model of an MR damper landing gear considering additional damping force generated in the entrance region of annular flow paths of the MR damper. If the mathematical modeling derived from this paper is applied to the design and optimization process of an MR damper landing gear, excellent performance of the MR damper landing gear is expected.

  • In 1933, I. Schur introduced a Schur ring in connection with permutation group and regular subgroup. After then, it was studied mostly for purely group theoretical purposes. In 1970s, Klin and Poschel initiated its usage in the investigation of graphs, especially for Cayley and circulant graphs. Nowadays it is known that Schur ring is one of the best way to enumerate Cayley graphs. In this paper we study the origin of Schur ring back to 1933 and keep trace its evolution to graph theory and combinatorics.

  • Jeju Island, in Korea, shows many characteristics that are differentiated from the rest of Korea. Its culture is rooted in mythology which advocates a egalitarian, rather than hierarchical, social structure, the place of women in the home is relatively high, and the formation of buildings, the separation of cooking and heating facilities, and the living format of residential homes is dissimilar. These disparities in culture indicate that Jeju Island's heritage was not formed only from influences from the North, but also from other places as well. To fill in the blanks, residential homes in Jeju Island were compared with those scattered throughout the East China Sea, which connect the southern coastline of the Korean peninsula and Jeju Island. The regions encompassed by the East China Sea, sharing the Kuroshio current and a seasonal wind, can be considered as one cultural region integrating cultural aspects from the continental North and the oceanbound South. The unique characteristics of southern culture as seen in southern residences was examined through an investigation of the sacred places in which gods were considered to dwell. First, the myths of these areas usually concerned with the ocean, and a sterile environment made sustenance impossible without a dual livelihood, usually taking on the forms of half-farming and half-fishing, or half-farming, half-gardening. Although family compositions were strongly matricentric or collateral thanks to southern influence, a patriarchical system like those found in the North were present in the upper classes and in the cities. Therefore, residential spaces were not divided based on age or gender, as in hierarchical societies, but according to family and function. Second, these areas had local belief systems based on animism and ancestor worship, and household deities were closely related to women, agriculture and fire. The deities of the kitchen, the granary and the toilet were mostly female, and the role of priest was often filled by a woman. After Buddhism and Confucianism were introduced from mainland Korea, China and Japan, the sacred areas of the household took on a dual form, integrating the female-focused local rites with male-centered Buddhist and Confucian rites. Third, in accordance with worship of a kitchen deity, a granary deity, and a toilet deity led to these areas of the home being separated into disparate buildings. Eventually, these areas became absorbed into the home as architectural technology was further developed and lifestyles were changed. There was also integration of northern and southern cultures, with rites concerning granary and toilet deities coming from China, and the personality of the kitchen deity being related to the southern sea. In addition, the use of stone in separate kitchens, granaries, and toilets is a distinguishing characteristic of the East China Sea. This research is a part of the results gained from a project funded by the Korea Research Foundation in 2006.

  • Minimization techniques are adaptations of Helical structure, Meta material, multi-layer structure etc. But, Helical structure is not suited to minimization technique of RF circuit having single resonant frequency. Because it generate resonant frequency following as rotation of circumference. Meta material and multi layer structure have weakness of expenditure and complex structure. In addition, conventional three dimensional M$\ddot{o}$bius Strip and planar M$\ddot{o}$bius Strip are not two dimensional planar M$\ddot{o}$bius Strip that has weakness of electrical coupling effect. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed miniaturized and reduced electrical coupling effect antenna by adaptation of Quasi M$\ddot{o}$bius Strip that topology is same as three dimensional M$\ddot{o}$bius Strip with Via-Hole structure. According to the simulation result, physical circumferential length is 1/3 minimized compared with conventional ring antenna under the same resonant frequency. In addition, coupling effect is not nearly generates near to the resonant frequency, 2.4GHz.

  • The main research question of this paper is as follows: How can broadcasting both cause the crisis in democratic participation and yet also offer the solution? The contradiction in broadcast localism has never been adequately resolved in spite of regulation at all in practice, in that localism simply cannot account for the diversity of modern life and for the external forces that incorporate local communities into much larger economic and communications network. The concept of locality in local television, however, has been multiplied and enlarged in order to adjust to "time-space compression". Recently the local television have been "interface" combining and negotiating the globalization of media market and the decentralization of political power, the economies of scale and the activation of local democracy, consequently aiming at the horizontal-cooperative network instead of old vertical-dependent one.
