  • The development and demand for the system that provides users with traffic information and efficient road use have continued. also, this system provides the basic technology of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS). The most used traffic information collection tools are Vehicle detectors (VDS) and short-range wireless communication (DSRC) on express way. In order to generate reliable traffic information, it is necessary to efficiently manage and utilize the collected data as well as high-quality traffic data collection and processing technology. In this study, traffic information collection·processing·provision systems were investigated, and analyze the current status and problems of traffic information collected through VDS. Based on this, we would like to present an improved collection algorithm that utilizes the Kalman filter for vehicle information measurement of VDS data. By using the algorithm of this study, it is possible to minimize the time delay of the estimated value as well as the noise removal that inevitably occurs during measurement.

  • 해상감시레이더는 관제지역의 해상교통정보를 수집하는 해상교통관제시스템의 주요 센서로, 다양한 운동 특성을 갖는 선박의 안정적인 추적과 위치, 속도, 침로 등의 정확한 정보를 제공하는 것은 VTS 성능 개선 및 서비스 고도화에 매우 중요한 요소 기술이다. 본 논문에서는 해상교통관제시스템에서 다양한 기동 특성을 갖는 선박의 정확한 추적을 위하여 상호작용 다중필터(IMM) 추정기를 이용한 추적 알고리즘을 설계하고, 모의실험을 통하여 필터 뱅크의 구성에 따른 성능 비교 및 분석을 수행한다.

Fast algorithm for Traffic Sign Recognition (고속 교통표시판 인식 알고리즘)

  • Information technology improves convenience, safety, and performance of automobiles. Recently, a lot of algorithms are studied to provide safety and environment information for driving, and traffic sign recognition is one of them. It can provide important information for safety driving. In this paper, we propose a method for traffic sign detection and identification concentrating on reducing the computation time. First, potential traffic signs are segmented by color threshold, and a polygon approximation algorithm is used to detect appropriate polygons. The potential signs are compared with the template signs in the database using SURF and ORB feature matching method.

  • In this thesis, the color information is used to extract the traffic sign territory, and for recognizing the extracted image, it proposes the traffic sign recognition system that applies the error back propagation algorithm. The proposed method analyzes the color of traffic sign to extract and recognize the possible territory of traffic sign. The method of extracting the possible territory is to use the characteristics of YUV, YIQ, and CMYK color space from the RGB color space. Morphology uses the geometric characteristics of traffic sign to make the image segmentation. The recognition of traffic signs can be recognized by using the error back propagation algorithm. As a result of the experiment, the proposed system has proven its outstanding capability in extraction and recognition of candidate territory without the influence of differences in lighting and input image in various sizes.

  • Traffic speed data may be missed due to detector malfunction or network problems. In this paper we have proposed effective methods to estimate the data which could not be collected through loop detectors. Our proposed algorithm has three steps. First step is to find the most similar neighbor data record by coefficient of correlation. Second step is to make some data records which is calculated by the 5 kinds of estimation methods. Third step is to compare the data records with history data record of observation link and thus the best method is selected. The proposed method is useful for estimating travel time.

  • 지능형 교통시스템(ITS)은 기존의 교통 정보시스템에 첨단 통신기술을 접목하여 교통 시설 운용의 효율성을 극대화시키고, 향후 mobile office 구현을 목표로 활발한 연구 중에 있다. 또한 mobile office의 대표적인 서비스로는 Internet 서비스가 있으며, 현재 ISO/TC204 WGl6(CALM)에서 활발한 연구 중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 mobile office의 대표적인서비스 예로 인터넷 서비스 제공 시 무선환경에서 야기되어지는 핸드오프 방안에 대한 알고리즘으로 HiN-handoff 알고리즘을 제시하였다. HiN-handoff(handover) 알고리즘은 기존의핸드 오프 알고리즘의 보완방법으로 차량에서 고속 주행 시 단절구간을 미리 예측하여 handoff(handover)를 극복해 보고자 하는 알고리즘이다.

Multiple Path-Finding Algorithm in the Centralized Traffic Information System (중앙집중형 도로교통정보시스템에서 다중경로탐색 알고리즘)

  • The centralized traffic information system is to gather and analyze real-time traffic information, to receive traffic information request from user, and to send user processed traffic information such as a path finding. Position information, result of destination search, and other information. In the centralized traffic information system, a server received path-finding requests from many clients and must process clients requests in time. The algorithm of multiple path-finding is needed for a server to process clients request, effectively in time. For this reason, this paper presents a heuristic algorithm that decreases time to compute path-finding requests. This heuristic algorithm uses results of the neighbor nodes shortest path-finding that are computed periodically. Path-finding results of this multiple path finding algorithm to use results of neighbor nodes shortest path-finding are the same as a real optimal path in many cases, and are a little different from results of a real optimal path in non-optimal path. This algorithm is efficiently applied to the general topology and the hierarchical topology such as traffic network. The computation time of a path-finding request that uses results of a neighbor nodes shortest path-finding is 50 times faster than other algorithms such as one-to-one label-setting and label-correcting algorithms. Especially in non-optimal path, the average error rate is under 0.1 percent.

  • This study aims to prevent secondary traffic accidents with high severity by overcoming the limitations of existing traffic information collection systems through analysis of traffic information collection detectors and various algorithms used to detect unexpected situations. In other words, this study is meaningful present that analyzing the 'unexpected situation that causes secondary traffic accidents' and 'Existing traffic information collection system' accordingly presenting a solution that can preemptively prevent secondary traffic accidents, intelligent traffic information collection system that enables accurate information collection on all sections of the road. As a result of the experiment, the reliability of data transmission reached 97% based on 95%, the data transmission speed averaged 209ms based on 1000ms, and the network failover time achieved targets of 50sec based on 120sec.

  • 교통량이 증가됨에 따라 높아지는 사고율을 줄이기 위해 효율적이며, 다양한 교통 위반 단속이 요구되고 있다. 기존의 유무인 교통법규 위반 단속 시스템의 도입으로 단속 구역 확대를 시도하고 있으나 높은 비용의 문제로 한정된 지역에서만 실시되고 있다. 해당 문제 해결을 위해 본 논문에서는 딥러닝 실시간 객체인식기술을 적용하여 차량의 교통법규 위반을 인식하며 이에 대한 정보를 제공하는 시스템을 개발하였다. 실시간 객체인식 알고리즘인 YOLOv4와 실시간 객체추적기술인 deepSORT 알고리즘을 데스크톱 PC에 적용하여 구현하였다. 개발한 시스템은 과속, 버스 전용 차로, 주정차, 급속 다차선 변경에 대한 인식 결과를 제공한다. 기존 설치된 CCTV 영상을 대상으로 시스템 적용이 가능하여 저비용으로 넓은 지역에 대한 교통법규 위반 상황 인식을 기대할 수 있다.

  • This paper suggests new route plan cost calculation and cost-effective route plan algorithm and architecture for the new city traffic information system when it is operated nationwide. New algorithm and architecture estimates cost with traffic speeds which is supported for all different lanes, stratifies logical layer which process different levels' traffic information with diverse traffic patterns and provides different traffic information in the few levels. Also suggested new algorithm supports drivers' customized traffic information through both-way communications and plans routes effectively based on the distance between drivers' start position and destination and different levels which start and end position located. It proposes additional research items and requirement for integration between different cities' traffic information system which the national police agency invested and led.
