Detection of Visual Attended Regions in Road Images for Assisting Safety Driving (안전 운전 지원을 위한 도로 영상에서 시각 주의 영역 검출)

  • Recently entered into an aging socity as the number of elderly drivers is increasing. Traffic accidents of elderly drivers are caused by driver inattentions such as poor vehicle control due to aging, visual information retrieval problems caused by presbyopia, and objects identifying problems caused by low contrast sensitivity. In this paper, detection method of ROIs on the road is proposed. The proposed method creates the saliency map to detect the candidate ROIs from the input image. And, the input image is segmented to obtain the ROIs boundary. Finally, selective visual attention regions are detected according to the presence or absence of a segmented region with saliency pixels. Experimental results from a variety of outdoor environmental conditions, the proposed method presented a fast object detection and a high detection rate.

  • 자연 친화적 하천관리는 현 치수위주의 하천정비 관행으로 인한 하천의 환경 기능의 훼손을 막고, 제도적으로 자연 친화적으로 하천 사업을 추진하기 위해서 수변조사, 계획, 설계, 시공, 모니터링, 그리고 유지관리 등 일련의 체계적인 절차에 따라 하천 사업을 시행하는 것이다. 특히 이러한 표준 절차 가운데 수변조사는 하천의 특성을 결정짓는 여러 가지 자연적, 인공적 형성과정들과 그 과정들을 지배하는 생태학적 원리들을 파악하여 하천사업의 정비주제와 방향을 설정하는데 도움을 준다. 모니터링은 계획과 설계, 시공을 통해 실시된 하천사업의 효과를 평가하고, 공법적용에 따른 하천의 변화과정을 파악하여 유지관리 및 적응관리를 위한 근거를 제시하는 과정이다. 수변조사 및 모니터링 매뉴얼은 건설교통부가 수행한 '자연친화적 하천정비기법 개발' 의 연구성과로서, 경기도의 탄천, 충청북도의 달천 그리고 경기도 오산천을 대상으로 각 관련분야의 전문가가 참여하여 직접 적용$\cdot$검증한 결과를 바탕으로 제작한 것이다. 이는 하천의 관리 및 하천관련 사업을 자연 친화적으로 수행하기 위하여 필요한 '수변조사'와 '모니터링'에 대한 일반적인 절차와 방법을 체계화 한 것이다. 특히 수변조사 매뉴얼의 경우는 $\ulcorner$하천설계기준$\lrcorner$의 '제12장 하천환경조사'를 보완하는 관계에 있다. 하천설계기준에서 제시한 하천환경조사는 본 수변조사 매뉴얼상과 동일한 절차와 양식을 따르고 있다. 하천설계기준에서 자세하게 기술하지 못한 조사방법, 정리, 분석, 평가에 대한 내용을 구체적으로 적용하여 이를 보완하고 있다.은 안양천 웹페이지(http://anyang.river.or.kr)에서 구현되고 있으며, 앞서 설명한 바와 같이 1단계 프론티어 사업으로 설치된 4개의 하천수위, 2개의 지하수위 관측시설과 함께, 2단계에 (주)웹솔루스에서 자체적으로 설치 운영하고 있는 2개소의 하수관거 모니터링 관측시설, 그리고 안양시에서 운영하고 있는 5개소의 강우관측소와 7개소의 수위관측소를 모두 통합하여 실시간 자료를 제공하고 있다. 수위자료는 10분단위의 텍스트정보와 그래프형태로 지원되며, 검색기간 설정을 통해 원하는 기간내의 자료를 선별, 검색할 수 있다.. 또한 이와 같은 기초적인 정보를 바탕으로 하류하천의 탁수 피해를 최소화할 수 있는 선택취수탑의 운영방안을 수립할 수 있다 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 선택취수탑 주위의 성층흐름을 기존의 실험자료와 수치해석을 통하여 분석하였고, 온도성층구조나 취수구의 위치변화에 따른 방류수 수질특성을 조사하였다.쇄파대(artifical reef)와 같은 완충지대를 갖는 호안을 축조함으로써 월파량을 감소시키는 대안으로 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구 수행을 통해 태풍 내습시 발생 가능한 자연재해에 대한 사전 방지를 목적으로 태풍피해의 원인을 제시하고 이를 해결하여 현재의 방재대책이 항구적인 방재대책으로 전환될 수 있는 방안 마련의 기초 자료로 활용되기를 기대한다., L-arabinose, 및 D-galactose; 제3차(第三次) 가수분해물(加水分解物)(C)에서 L-rhamnose, D-xylose, L-arabinose 및 D-galactose, 비가수분해물(非加水分解物)(C')에서 D-xylose와 D-galactose를 검출(檢出)하였다. A Design and Implementation for a Reliable Data Storage in a Digital Tachograph (디지털 자동차운행기록계에서 안정적인 데이터 저장을 위한 설계 및 구현)

  • The digital tachograph is a device that automatically records speed and distance of a vehicle, together with the driver's activity and vehicle status at an accident. It records vehicle speed, break status, acceleration, engine RPM, longitude and latitude of GPS, accumulated distance, and so on. European Commission regulation made digital tachographs mandatory for all trucks from 2005. Republic of Korea made digital tachographs mandatory for all new business vehicles from 2011 and is widening the range of vehicles that must install digital tachographs year by year. This device is used to analyze driver's daily driving information and car accidents. Under a car accident that makes the device reliability unpredictable, it is very important to store driving information with maximum reliability for its original mission. We designed and implemented a practical digital tachograph. This paper presents a storage scheme that consists of a first storage device with small capacity at a high reliability and a second storage device with large capacity at a low cost in order to reliably records data with a hardware at a low cost. The first storage device records data in a SLC NAND flash memory in a log-structured style. We present a reverse partial scan that overcomes the slow scan time of log-structured storages at the boot stage. The scheme reduced the scan time of the first storage device by 1/50. In addition, our design includes a scheme that fast stores data at a moment of accident by 1/20 of data transfer time of a normal method.

A Study of Service Innovation in the Airport Industry using AHP (계층화 분석법을 활용한 공항 산업 서비스 혁신 연구)

  • In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the global airport industry is actively introducing 4th Industrial Revolution technology-based systems for quarantine and passenger safety, and test bed construction and prior verification using airport infrastructure and resources are actively being conducted. Analysis of recent cases shows that despite the changing travel patterns of airport users and the diversification of airport service demands, most testbeds construction studies are still focused on suppliers, and task prioritization is also determined by decision makers. There is a tendency to rely on subjective judgment. In order to find practical ways to become a first mover that leads innovation in the aviation industry, this study selected tasks and derived priorities to build testbeds from a service perspective that reflects various customer service needs and changes. Research results using the AHP analysis method resulted in priorities in the order of access transportation and parking services (29.2%), security screening services (23.4%), and departure services (21.8%), and these analysis results were tested in the airport industry. It shows that innovation in testbeds construction is an important factor. In particular, the establishment of smart parking and UAM transportation testbeds not only helps strengthen airports as centers of technological innovation, but also promotes cooperation with companies, research institutes, and governments, and provides an environment for testing and developing new technologies and services. It can be a foundation for what can be done. The results and implications produced through this study can serve as useful guidelines for domestic and foreign airport practitioners to build testbeds and establish strategies.

An Efficient Location Encoding Method Based on Hierarchical Administrative District (계층적 행정 구역에 기반한 효율적인 위치 정보 표현 방식)

  • Due to the rapid development in mobile communication technologies, the usage of mobile devices such as cell phone or PDA becomes increasingly popular. As different devices require different applications, various new services are being developed to satisfy the needs. One of the popular services under heavy demand is the Location-based Service (LBS) that exploits the spatial information of moving objects per temporal changes. In order to support LBS efficiently, it is necessary to be able to index and query well a large amount of spatio-temporal information of moving objects. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate how such location information of moving objects can be efficiently stored and indexed. In particular, we propose a novel location encoding method based on hierarchical administrative district information. Our proposal is different from conventional approaches where moving objects are often expressed as geometric points in two dimensional space, (x,y). Instead, in ours, moving objects are encoded as one dimensional points by both administrative district as well as road information. Our method is especially useful for monitoring traffic situation or tracing location of moving objects through approximate spatial queries.

  • Recently data centric routing or application dependent routing protocols are emerged in mobile ad hoc networks. In this paper, we propose a routing method for query processing in MANET(Mobile Ad hoc NETwork) environment, called road-based query routing, with consideration on real time traffic information of large number of vehicles. In particular, we focus on the method that process arrival time dependent shortest path query in MANET without a central server on the road networks. The main idea of our approach lies in a routing message that includes query predicates based on the road connectivity and on data gathering method in real time from vehicles on the road by ad-hoc network. We unify route discovery phase and data delivery(query processing) phase in our mechanism and reduce unnecessary flooding messages by pruning mobile nodes which are not on the same or neighboring road segments. In order to evaluate the performances of the proposed method, we established a model of road networks and mobile nodes which travel along the roads. The measurement factor is the number of nodes to whom route request is propagated according to each pruning strategy. Simulation result shows that road information is a dominant factor to reduce the number of messages.

TCP Algorithm Improvement for Smartphone Data Transmissions (스마트폰 통신성향을 고려한 TCP 개선방안)

  • This paper suggests adjusting TCP for smartphones that often have small size data transmission tendency. Usage of smartphones has been risen dramatically in recent years, including frequent usage of real-time map search, public transportation search, online games, and SNS. Because the small size data transmission ends before the phase of the TCP congestion avoidance, this paper suggests an algorithm that increases the transmission speed ahead of the traffic congestion event. The algorithm reduces unnecessary delay by data size-driven adjustment of the Linux Quick ACK and Nagle's algorithm. Therefore, TCP is improved to maintain a high transmission rate steadily in small data transmission.

  • The broadcast environment is asymmetric communication aspect that is typically much greater communication capacity available from server to clients than in the opposite direction. In addition, most of mobile computing systems only allow the generation of read-only transactions from mobile clients for retrieving different types of information such as stock data, traffic information and news updates. Since previous concurrency control protocols, however, do not consider such a particular characteristics, the performance degradation occurs when those schemes are applied to the broadcast environment having quite a high data contention. In this paper, we propose OCC/2VTS (Optimistic Concurrency Control based on 2-Version and TimeStamp) that is most appropriate for broadcast environment. OCC/2VTS lets each client process and commit query transactions for itself by using two version data in cache. If the values of appropriate data items are not changed twice by invalidation report after a query transaction starts, the query transaction is committed safely independent of commitment of update transactions. OCC/2VTS decreases the number of informing server for the purpose of commitment. Due to broadcasting the validation reports including updated recent values, it reduces the opportunity of requesting a recent data values of server as well. As a result, OCC/2VTS makes full use of the asymmetric bandwidth. It also improves transaction throughput by increasing the query transaction commit ratio as much as possible.

  • As computer systems of high capacity and high performance recently emerged, various researches about GISs(Geographic Information Systems) have been in progress and many GIS applications have also been developed. From the domestic situation where many people are using mobile devices, because of the recent advances in the mobile technology, we can infer that the time will come when every individual will carry a mobile device with a GPS(Global Positioning System) module resulting from the development of a miniature GPS Module. Therefore, a mobile GIS that can allows users to deal with dynamic GIS data management and perform their tasks while moving will be required. This paper discusses the design and implementation of a mobile GIS using the shareware DBMS, called postgresSQL. The Mobile GIS in which a mobile concept is utilized at the GIS data server makes it possible to insert, delete, update GIS data, to zoom in and zoom out displayed maps, and to locate the user's position on the client device. Therefore, It is possible to manage dynamic GIS data in order to deal with GIS data on the maps while moving, connect various GIS data servers through the middleware, and connected with ITS (Intelligent Transport System) which is one of applications of the Mobile GIS developed in this paper.

Analysis of Tourism Popularity Using T-map Search andSome Trend Data: Focusing on Chuncheon-city, Gangwon-province (T맵 검색지와 썸트랜드 데이터를 이용한 관광인기도분석: 강원도 춘천을 중심으로)

  • Covid-19, of which the first patient in Korea occurred in January 2020, has affected various fields. Of these, the tourism sector might havebeen hit the hardest. In particular, since tourism-based industrial structure forms the basis of the region, Gangwon-province, and the tourism industry is the main source of income for small businesses and small enterprises, the damage is great. To check the situation and extent of such damage, targeting the Chuncheon region, where public access is the most convenient among the Gangwon regions, one-day tours are possible using public transportation from Seoul and the metropolitan area, with a general image that low expense tourism is recognized as possible, this study conducted empirical analysis through data analysis. For this, the general status of the region was checked based on the visitor data of Chuncheon city provided by the tourist information system, and to check the levels ofinterest in 2019, before Covid-19, and in 2020, after Covid-19, by comparing keywords collected from the web service sometrend of Vibe Company Inc., a company specializing in keyword collection, with SK Telecom's T-map search site data, which in parallel provides in-vehicle navigation service and communication service, this study analyzed the general regional image of Chuncheon-city. In addition, by comparing data from two years by developing a tourism popularity index applying keywords and T-map search site data, this study examined how much the Covid-19 situation affected the level of interest of visitors to the Chuncheon area leading to actual visits using a data analysis approach. According to the results of big data analysis applying the tourism popularity index after designing the data mart, this study confirmed that the effect of the Covid-19 situation on tourism popularity in Chuncheon-city, Gangwon-provincewas not significant, and confirmed the image of tourist destinations based on the regional characteristics of the region. It is hoped that the results of this research and analysis can be used as useful reference data for tourism economic policy making.
